The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Reveals The Sinister 6...Sort Of...

As we spiral toward Friday and the release of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, eagle eyed readers keep watch of the internet for additional viral drops linked directly into the film, and more importantly, news on after credit sequence reveals. At our New York press screening, all our waiting through the credits was for naught as the lights came on and we were left with nothing but the actual film to talk about. MONSTERS!! I suppose we've come to expect these extra sequences on the end of any Marvel super hero film now, and why wouldn't we? Even  the first Amazing Spider-Man film had one! Fellow journos in attendance told us the extra bits on the European release of ASM2 were for the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past film, further confounding fans. Now it seems those flashes of CG designs during the credits may have been all we will get. Sony suggests the following course of action...

The Final Trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2

May 2nd. MAY 2nd!! So close, and yet so far away. It's going to be very interesting to watch the box office numbers for this one. If toy sales are any indication, die hard fans don't care much for this new incarnation of Electro, who is the main baddie in the latest film. Sort of throws a wrench into things, hm? Luckily, Sony have hedged their bets and added a new Green Goblin, and (from what I hear) a quick battle with Rhino to make sure fans have a lot to freak out about...and freak we did! This all paves the way for Sony's immersive Spidey-Universe, hoping to mirror some degree of success Marvel Studios has captured for their own cinematic universe, with Sinister Six and Venom films on the way. They've got the A talent crafting each film, but no win in Hollywood is assured until those dollar signs come rolling in. I'll be watching...but for now, we get to watch THE WHOLE DAMN CITY OF NEW YORK BLOW UP!!! ..because super heroes can't fight these days without wrecking the neighborhood, ya know?

2014 Preview: Hasbro's Amazing Spider-Man 2 Toy Line

Which, as it turns out, is less of a preview now and more of a fast tracked piece and we've got reports some of these figures are already hitting retail! We first got a sneak peek at Hasbro's Amazing Spider-Man 2 lineup at Toy Fair 2013 back in February. Over the last couple of months, additional items and full series waves have been popping up for pre-order on retailer websites and in a certain ebay seller out of Hong Kong. Dive in and check out what's to come!

New Eye Candy for Amazing Spider-Man 2

**Obviously some spoilers ahead if you were trying to go into Amazing Spider-Man 2 clean!*
Popping up all over the internet and said to be from Empire Magazine (though they usually put a giant watermark on all their stuff) come a small stack of images set to make you droooool in anticipation for the next Spidey epic. Did you catch the bootlegged ASM2 trailer from San Diego Comic-Con 2013???!!  Yea..neither did I. TEASERS!! Share with the rest of the class next time, please and thank you. Anyyyways, we know we are a little late to the party with these, but we can't miss a chance to make fun of the little lightning bolt on Electro's arm. It's...a little silly. It would be like Spider-Man putting a ^Caution: Webs fly out from here ^ sticker near his wrists. YES we know...danger...the fucker is named ELECTRO. I think we got it. I'm also still scratching my head over the pull back to the classic look on Spidey's outfit. Yea, we hated the last one before the film was released but it worked, so why go backward? It reminds me of the droid army on the Star Wars prequels. Soooo..you went from expendable droids to human troopers? Hows that workin out for ya?

SDCC 2013: The Calm Before The Dork

As you pack your finest button down shirts with Megatron, Mumm-Ra and the Punisher logo surrounded by flames in a tasteful array of colors, alongside all your survival gear for the epic journey that is everyone's own personal road to Comic-Con, the town that hosts it all readies itself for the cloud of geek, like an oncoming storm of Superior Spider-Man gripes at their tables and many a high pitched Anime-esque squee (from man and woman) as old friends inexplicably run into each other on the streets outside their shops. All that begins tomorrow...but today...all is quiet. The workmen are building...the hotels are wrapped with upcoming movie art...and the streets are clean and calm...all waiting for the oncoming storm. Dun dun duuuuun. That's your que. You are the storm. Go get em, kids!

Electro Spotted in New York City

As Amazing Spider-Man 2 continues shooting in New York City, pictures come flooding in. Some are crap camera phone pics....but some are gorgeous movie-still-quality shots like those we found on Screen Crush today! Jamie Foxx lumbered through the streets, perhaps just after the incident which transforms him into a living bolt of electricity...skin a metallic blue and little lights lining his hood to illuminate his face...no doubt to be removed in post so the man himself appears to glow. As he leans against the light post, you can imagine what comes next. Maybe an explosion as the post is overloaded with power, sending a jolt to every post down the line which explodes as well. Electro is still a bit confused but understands the finer points of his new power and flees into darkness to think on his potential.

An Amazing Spider-Man 2 Costume Overhaul

Coming Soon has thwipped out a new image from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, giving us what I believe is the first good look at a more streamlined, classic costume. It appears the web-head is devolving! Where once there was an ultra complicated array of pours, lines and high tech looking materials that made it seem like young Peter Parker was just as much a genius at the sewing machine as when he tinkers with electronics and chemicals...we now have a more classic design with a mesh pattern embedded beneath cloth, the tell tale rounded web lines, a de-ed-hardified spidey-symbol and a widening of the eyes with white lenses, bringing to life an all around iconic look. I'll admit to a lot of basketball suit bashing when the first film was being released, but I'm sure I also admitted the suit looked excellent on screen. Now we are thrust back to square one with a super simplified design harkening back to the Raimi Spider-Man films...and you have to wonder who threw the switch on the way back machine here...
