  • EJK 9 years ago about Real Pittsburgh Ham Bbq Sandwiches
I just made this yesterday following this recipe. I'm from the Pittsburgh area, but never made them this way. I always used 1 cup Heinz ketchup and 1 cup water water with a few table spoons of sweet relish, to 1 pound of chipped ham, a sort of home grown recipe.

My family voted this Heinz ketchup & Coke recipe the best ever! I will never make them any other way!

    Thank you for sharing!

I have a bottle of marsala that I had no idea what to do with until this dish inspired me. Trying to figure out how I could incorporate my new slow cooker into this.......hmmmm.

I'll be back, like the Terminator.

Welcome to GR. You're off to a fine start!

    Four tips:
    1. When searching for certain things e.g. Groups, you have to click on the search button and not just hit enter. If you just hit enter it just takes you back to the same page.
    2. When posting a new recipe or starting a new group -- do a search first to make sure there isn't one already.
    3. When responding to questions on one of your recipes, consider putting it under ALTERATIONS rather than COMMENTS. Comments made dissapear in time, alterations will remain with the recipe for future viewers to see -- in case they have the same question.
    4. Explore, Exchange and Enjoy!
