Rice Pudding

- 3/4 cup white rice, uncooked shopping list
- 2 cups milk, divided shopping list
- 1 egg, beaten shopping list
- 1/3 cup sugar (white) shopping list
- 2/3 cup raisins (golden recommended) shopping list
- 1 tbsp of butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp of salt shopping list
How to make it
- Boil 1 1/2 cups of water in a medium sized saucepan. Then, add the rice, and stir. Now, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Combine 1 1/2 cups cooked rice, 1 1/2 cups of milk, salt and sugar in another saucepan. Cook this over medium heat, until its thick and creamy (about 15-20 minutes). Add in the left over 1/2 cup milk, raisins and beaten egg. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Finally, remove from the heat, and stir in the vanilla and butter. Serve warm, and enjoy!
