Chili Dog Nachos

- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil shopping list
- 1 lb ground sirloin shopping list
- salt and freshly ground pepper shopping list
- 2 hot dogs, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces shopping list
- 1 small onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 tsp worcestershire sauce shopping list
- 2 Tbsp chili powder shopping list
- 2 tsp ground cumin shopping list
- 8 oz can of tomato sauce shopping list
- 1 bag of yellow corn tortilla chips shopping list
- 10 oz shredded yellow cheddar cheese shopping list
- sour cream, salsa, and chopped scallions for garnish shopping list
How to make it
- Heat a medium skillet over high heat.
- Add the oil and then the beef and begin to brown and crumble with a wooden spoon, about 2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
- Add sliced hot dogs and continue browning another 3 minutes.
- Add onion, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, and cumin.
- Cook another 3 to 5 minutes.
- Add tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes more.
- Arrange corn chips in a casserole dish.
- Top the chips with the cooked chili dog topping.
- Cover the sauce layer with cheese.
- Place casserole under the broiler for 2 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with sour cream, salsa, and chopped scallions.
- *The chili dog topping can be made the day before and then assembled when ready to serve.
