General Concepts
CPU cards of Abaco® line are grouped according
to the type of their microprocessor.
Each µP family can count, at grifo®,
on a specific and articulate software developing tool. There are
also available, at third parties, additional interesting developing
tools that can make wider the user choice.
All cards using the same µP have the same developing
tools except very rare exceptions.
grifo® tendency is to offer, for each µP
single family, developing environmentals as friendly as possible
at the best possible low price. The tendency is to offer high
level languages in order to make easy the programmer job and reducing
the time necessary for generating users' program.
The possibility of using high level languages gives also the
advantage to offer the high performances of Abaco®
line to those users not expert in programming and/or who need
to manage on their own the control or supervision of the electronics.
In particular by using the efficent BASIC Compiler
available for the µP family Z80 compatible,
anyone can solve any kind of controlling or supervising problems
in a very short period of time. In order to make easier the job
of generating and upgrading programs, there are some Operative
Systems which support evoluted languages in order to help the
programmer in solving those little difficulties which concerne
the inizialization and the management of the resources of the
card.

- MONI 05. - This is a Debugger-Monitor Program
resident on EPROM. It can Down-Load a file under Motorola "S"
format through the serial line. It offers essential comands
for the debugging with similar modalities of Buffalo program
of Motorola. This program is supplied with EPROM and its
manual.
- TERM-05. - This is a communication and controlling
program bewteen GPC® 05 card and one PC IBM
compatible in MS/DOS environmental. This program links together
to MONI 05. Term 05 allows files transfer operations
and communication to GPC® 05 card. It is supplied
on MS-DOS floppy disk and user information are on diskette.
- A05. - Is a Cross-Assembler for MC 146805 able
to operates on PC IBM compatible under MS-DOS environmental.

- MONI-11. - This is a Debugger-Monitor Program resident
on EPROM. It can Down-Load a file under Motorola S format

- NoICE. - DOS based Symbolic
Remote Debugger.
- KERMIT-11. - "Real Time" software for GPC®-11,
GPC®-113, GPC®-114. It allows to operate in
"Multi Task" managing semaphores, messages, mail box
and so forth. It is supplied along with some demo programs. This
package includes the EPROM, some diskettes under MS-DOS and manual.
- CONTROL-PASCAL. - "Control Pascal" program
for GPC®-11, GPC®-113, GPC®-114.
It allows to operate in a reduced Integer Pascal in order to
face typical control problems. This package includes the EPROM
and the manual containing the language features.
- FORTH-11. - FORTH-83 and some additional extensions,
are completely implemented on an EPROM. It allows to exploits
all 68HC11 features adding the advantages of an efficient and
very fast language. The package includes the EPROM and the manual
containing the language features.
- BASIC-11. - BASIC Interpreter
of Integer type for GPC®-11, GPC®-113,
GPC®-114. This package offers and immediate use of the
typical BASIC card, even if, because of its low speed
it is mainly suitable for those control prolems having medium-long
time. Thank to its low cost, this package is very popular among
hobbiest. This package includes the EPROM and the manual.
- GET-11.
- Complete editor and terminal emulation program for 68HC11
family cards. This program, developed by grifo®, allows
the best work conditions when Monitor and BASIC
software tools are used; it is supplied with the order of one
of these tools and it is personalized with name and general data
of the customer. A useful list of pull down menus and the possibility
of using mouse, makes program use very comfortable. GET-11
program can be executed both on MS-DOS system and on MACINTOSH computers too, through
SOFT-PC program. It is supplied on MS-DOS 3"1/2 floppy
disk together with the User manual.

for 89C4051 and for 51 family microprocessor. This Compiler
is terribly fast and it generates a small quantity of code.
- BASCOM-8051© , is a Windows BASIC COMPILER for the 8051 family.
It is designed to run on W95/NT and has
all the features of BASCOM-LT.
In addition it has full support for arrays and the single floating
point type.
- BXC-51.
- BASIC Compiler for MCS 52 BASIC INTEL interpreter.
It converts a source file for BASIC interpreter in a source
file with 51 assembly code, or in object code file compatible
with all 51 family microprocessors. BXC 51 is supplied
on MS-DOS floppy disks, with User manual; a set of libraries
for each 51 family cards is available too. The advantage of this
compiler are:
- - program execution speed increase, in fact the program is
compiled and not interpreted
- - the obtained compiled code can be executed on other microprocessor
different from 8052 AH BASIC (masked Chip by Intel).
This reduce the system cost and make possible the use of completely
different microprocessors, like 80C552, with clock frequency
much more higher than those originally used by BASIC.
- - possibility to change the source assembly code, to perform
any kind of specific modifications and additions.
- BXC-51LT. - This
software package includes the Library Toolkit of BXC
51 Compiler. These utilities can be used to access directly
the library procedures of BXC-51 compiler, even by generic
assembly program. The Programmer can add only the used parts
of library excluding the unnecessary code, obtaining a reduced
code size. This library procedure selection can be done also
on BXC 51 output file, even reducing code size of BASIC
programs. The advantage of code size reduction is the possibility
to use microprocessor with small internal EPROM. It is supplied
on MS-DOS floppy disk and manual.
- BAS-51;
BAS-F2; BAS-IAS; BAS-323/32; BAS-324/32.
- Interpreted BASIC language compatible with microprocessor
8052 AH BASIC, with the corrections of some errors in
floating point procedure. It operates on GPC® 51 family
cards with 80C32 microprocessor. It is supplied on EPROM (that
must be mounted on the card), along with GET-51 program,
no manual.
- BAS-51D; BAS-F2D;
BAS-IASD; BAS-323/320; BAS-324/320. - Interpreted
BASIC language compatible with microprocessor 8052 AH BASIC,
with the corrections of some errors in floating point procedure.
Some instructions and commands have been added to original MCS
BASIC (i.e clear and program command for EEPROM instead
of EPROM programming, second RS 232 line management,
etc.). It operates on GPC® 51 family cards
with DALLAS 80C320 microprocessor at a twice faster
frequency clock than Intel version. With this software tools
the same interpreted BASIC program is executed six time
faster. It is supplied on EPROM (that must be mounted on the
card), with GET-51 program, no manual but documentation
on the BASIC language modification. For BASIC language
description the user can apply to Intel original documentation.
For using BAS-51D ... etc. together with BXC-51,
at the moment of the purchase of BASIC compiler also specialization
libraries and some useful examples are supplied.
- BAS-552;
BAS-553; BAS-554. - Interpreted BASIC language
compatible with microprocessor 8052 AH BASIC, with some
errors in floating point procedure corrected. Some instructions
and commands have been added to original MCS BASIC (i.e
clear and program command for EEPROM instead of EPROM programming,
LCD Display management, Matrix Keyboard acquisition,
A/D Converter management, etc.). It operates on GPC®
552; GPC®-553; GPC®-554 card at a two
time faster frequency clock than Intel version, obtaining very
good performances. It is supplied on EPROM that must be mounted
on the card, together with GET-51 program, without manual
but with documentation on the BASIC language modification.
For BASIC language description the user can apply to Intel
original documentation. For using BAS-55x together with
BXC-51, at the moment of the purchase of BASIC compiler
also specialization libraries and some useful examples are supplied.
- µC/51 , is a Windows C COMPILER for the 8051 family. It is designed to
run on W95/NT. In addition it has full support
for arrays and the single floating point type.

- KAT-CE. - It is a complete
low price software tools for GPC® 68. This
software includes a GET-68; MON-68 and PASCAL-68.
- MON-68K. - It is a complete
low price software tools for GPC® 68, that
must be used together with TERM 68 program. This software
includes a full screen editor, two step assembler and monitor
debugger that allow a fast and easy code generation. It is supplied
on EPROM with manual; the MON 68K messages are shown in Inglish
language.
- TERM-68. - It is a communication program that must
be linked with MON 68K and PASCAL-68 software tools.
It is supplied on MS-DOS floppy disk.
- PASCAL-68. - It is a PASCAL
compiler for GPC® 68 card, with features similar
to release 3.0 of Borland Turbo PASCAL. For a correct

- RUN-P68. - It is a run time module that must be used
to save the compiled object code generated from PASCAL 68 in
EPROMs for GPC® 68. It is supplied on EPROM.

developed by grifo®, allows to operate in the best
conditions when GDOS, FGDOS or xGDOS MCI
software tools are used; GET 80 is supplied when
one of these tools is ordered and it is personalized with name
and general data of the customer. A useful list of pull down
menus and the possibility of using mouse, make program use very
comfortable. GET 80 program can be executed both on MS-DOS
system and on MACINTOSH computers
too, through SOFT-PC program. It is supplied on MS-DOS
3"1/2 floppy disk with the documentation on GDOS 80

- NoICE. - DOS based Symbolic
Remote Debugger.
- GDOS
xxx. - It is a complete development Tool for all Z80
family card. It is supplied together with GET-80 program
to allow an easy and immediate use of this powerful development
system. GDOS is divided in two different structures :
the first one works on PC maintaining serial communication with
the second one. The second structure is on EPROM, it works on
board of the card and it is an efficient operating system that
executes many low level functions and, at the same time, it allows
high level language use. The combination of the said structures
results in a complete machine, in fact the card uses PC resources
(like floppy disk, hard disk, printer, keyboard, monitor, etc.)
as its own peripheral devices. This resulting "virtual
machine" performs operation in a transparent way for
the User, so this latter can operate with the same modality of
standard PC languages. It is really interesting the compatibility
of GDOS with all CP/M program and languages;
so, if the User has experience, knowledge or developed applications
with CP/M, he can use immediately GDOS, without
any changes. Moreover, GDOS can manage all memory devices
exceeding 64K Bytes as RAM-Disk and ROM-Disk. The
on board RAM devices (often backed by battery) can directly
be used performing data read and write operations with the confortable
file formats. This software tools is supplied on EPROM with MS-DOS
GET-80 floppy disk, some example, utility and the operating
system documentation.
- FGDOS xxx.
- It is really similar to GDOS, but it can program
and erase the on board FLASH EPROM with the application
program developed from the User. In this way the external EPROM
programmer is not necessary to store definitely the program and
it is possible to modify or to add code directly on the installed
machine, through a portable PC. This software tools is supplied
on FLASH EPROM with MS-DOS GET-80 floppy disk,
some example, utility and the operating system documentation.
- GDOS-MCI xxx; FGDOS-MCI
xxx. - It is a version of GDOS or FGDOS sofware
tools, capable of PCMCIA Memory Card management. Using
MCI 64 card, the GDOS operating system manages
memory cards as RAM-Disk or ROM-Disk. All applications
with data acquisition and data logging can be realized with high
level languages that manage data on files, with a fast development
time and without any software complication. This software tool
is supplied on EPROM or FLASH EPROM with MS-DOS
GET-80 floppy disk, some examples, utility and the operating
system documentation.
- RSD xxx. - This software
tools is a Remote Symbolic Debugger with two operating
mode. The first one is a monitor debugger modality with software
emulation on P.C.; the second is a remote monitor debugger modality
that execute code directly on the card. Trough serial communication
the User can: down load an HEX file and associated symbol table,
debug code in symbolic mode, execute code in step to step mode
or in real time mode, set breakpoint, dump and modify memory
and registers, etc. RSD software tool supports both Z80
and Z180 instrunction sets. Really interesting is the
program execution management, in fact many hardware and software
breakpoint are supported. RSD can be used together with
assembler tools, like MAL-80, and C Compiler CCC-80.

Cross Assemler that operates on any PC with MS-DOS operating

- CCC-80. - It is a complete
C Compiler with ANSI/ISO standard, provided of floating
point procedure, that can generate code for Z80 and Z180 family
microprocessors. It works together with cross assembler MAL-80

- CBZ-80.
- It is a BASIC Compiler that generates a really compact
and fast code. It must work together with any GDOS version and
it can exceed the 64K memory limits of Z80 family microprocessors
through CHAIN modality. More than one application program
can be saved in RAM and/or ROM-Disks and subsequently
executed. In conjunctionto the powerful GET-80 Editor
the CBZ-80 program becomes a confortable and really efficient
developing system for any kind of application program. This program

software tools that includes a Romed Operating System
and a Monitor program. With this monitor the developed application
program can be down Loaded and Debugged with modality similar
to MS-DOS Debug program. It works together with TERM-86

- TERM-86. - It is a communication program that must
be used together with MON 86 software tools. It allows
communication between GPC® 188 family cards
and P.C. performing bidirectional files transfer. TERM 86 is
supplied on MS-DOS floppy disk.
- PASCAL-188.
- It is an efficient and complete PASCAL Compiler capables
of Romed code creation. It has syntax features and instruction
set similar to Release 3.0 of Borland Turbo PASCAL
and the user can refers to documentation of this software
package. PASCAL-86 generates a very compact code that
is saved and executed directly in EPROM and that requires very
few RAM space. This program is supplied on EPROM and needs

of these tools and it is personalized with name and general data
of the customer. A useful list of pull down menus and the possibility
of using mouse, makes program use very comfortable. GET-188
program can be executed both on MS-DOS system and
on MACINTOSH computers too,
