Long story short, we got our retails of Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and while I can't tell you all about it (the review should be up early next week), I can tell you that I can't stop playing it. It seems that I'm not alone, either, because my own boss, Console Editor in Chief Will Tuttle, was up until 3 a.m. last night playing with Team Rainbow. So, it's clear that there's some fun to be had with this game, and I aim to have it all!

Now, while I can't divulge any actual information about the game, I'd like to take just a second to tell you about one of my favorite aspects of it, and the first game as well: Jung Park is awesome! Along with Michael Walters, Jung serves under you as one of your Team Rainbow minions, doing your bidding by stacking up on doorways at your command. What I love about Jung is his accent and dialog. Sometimes, I'll order my guys back and forth in a room just to hear Jung say, "In formation!" This is hilarious to me because, as the hacker/tech dude in your group, it sound a lot like he's just proclaiming the presence of data or evidence in some form or another by crying out, "Information!" Of course, I never get tired of Michael's response to the regroup command where he issues a heavily British accented, gravelly, "On your six."

Seriously though, I've been saying this stuff around the office for no particular reason at all and it is really starting to annoy Miguel, Patrick and Sterling (though Sterling has gotten a brief reprieve since he is traveling on special, super-secret assignment).

Bring Down the Sky

Were I not so totally submerged in tactical assault, I might have had a chance to check out the new Mass Effect downloadable content entitled Bring Down the Sky. Supposedly it focuses on a new race (not really "new" per se, just newly "active enough in the Universe that they get some screen time now") called the Batarians. In the interest of due diligence, however, I went ahead and booted Mass Effect up after today's lunch.

Incidentally, I want to mention that I love my fiancee, and here's why. When Burn Down the Sky hit Xbox Live Marketplace yesterday, I was busy at work writing up some of the fine content you are enjoying right now and not, sadly, near my precious 360. A quick IM to my darling fiancee and she was on the case, downloading the expansion for me at home so that when I got off work and returned to my domicile, the expansion was downloaded and ready to go. People make a lot of jokes about gamers being reclusive, socially incapable individuals, but I scored a good one and I fully encourage that those of you in the market for a significant other to pursue that goal with all vigor possible.

Anyways, at this moment, Miguel is playing Mass Effect on the HDTV on my desk, trying to get to the new content in Bring Down the Sky. Unfortunately, he's meeting with little success, though he's only been playing for a couple of minutes. Thankfully, IGN's Ryan Geddes works just down the hall and he's already played this action and showed us where to go.

Okay, first impression: the Mako still handles like madness. I forgot that it was so squirrelly, but Miguel has reminded me by bouncing around like a Cocker Spaniel. The new asteroid, with its giant fusion torches blasting jets of crimson plasma into the sky, seems like a decently unique environment. I don't want to spoil the write-up that bossman Will Tuttle is currently working on, so I'm not going to go into much more, but I'm looking forward to getting deeper into Bring Down the Sky and to return to Mass Effect in general.
