In-Game Description

"A soldier at the Stornway Checkpoint has asked you to bring him a Wing of Bat. Apparently the Drackmages near Zere often drop them."

Do you know the checkpoint that keeps you from traveling from Stornway northward towards Zere? Of course you do. Before your activities at Stornway initially, you'll be stopped from proceeding through said checkpoint. Only after you get the go-ahead from the King of Stornway can you pass through. At the checkpoint, you'll find plenty of soldiers, including one in the guard house who has a request for you. Keep in mind that his request might not be made as soon as you arrive at the checkpoint. This is why we recommend you wait until you get to Alltrades Abbey to return to the checkpoint and speak with the man. This will guarantee that he's offering up his side quest (as you may otherwise get there too soon).

If you completed Side Quest #009, entitled "Labour of Love," then you'll know full-well what to expect here. In "Labour of Love," you helped a woman make an outfit by giving her some Evencloth. This was for her boyfriend, who happens to be this soldier. Ironically, he has a similar idea. To become more appealing to his girlfriend, he wants a Wing of Bat, which will help make him more stylish. Wings of Bat are dropped by Drackmages, which roam around north of the checkpoint, near Zere. If you waited a while before undertaking this side quest as we recommended, then you'll be able to hand over a Wing of Bat straight-away. If not, go and fight some Drackmages near Zere until you grab one. You'll get some gold in return for your hard work.
