Dragon Quest IX Side Quests

Where? When? Reward
Stornway Castle After you complete Side Quest #005 for Angus, and return to town following your defeat of the Wight Knight at Loch Storn. Seed of Life

In-Game Description

"Angus, the soldier who can be found upstairs in Stornway Castle, has asked you to bring him a remedy from Angel Falls that's supposed to be good for curing headaches."

At Stornway Castle, you'll run into a man named Angus. Now, you should be familiar with Angus already (especially if you've completed Side Quest #005, which directly involved him). In fact, without completing Side Quest #005 (entitled "Herb'list"), you won't be able to undertake "Get Well Water," as one directly begets the other. Return to Angus once "Herb'list" has been completed, and only after you defeat the Wight Knight at Lock Storn as well. When you find Angus in the tower, he'll ask you to get him a special remedy from Angel Falls. Apparently, it's good for curing headaches, and Angus has quite the headache indeed.

This side quest is a bit of a pain, because it not only requires a bit of legwork, but it also requires that you wait until you're a bit farther in the game to complete the task at hand. Firstly, you're going to need to head to Angel Falls. There, you'll find a man on the bridge in town that will make the tonic you seek, but he'll need some Fresh Water. Finding this Fresh Water, believe it or not, is the catch. Fresh Water isn't as abundant as you might think. When you get far enough in the game that you find yourself in a location known as Slurry Quay, you're on the right track. Slurry Quay is the super-small village you're deposited in by the boat sailing from Port Llaffan. Leave the village and head due north from there, towards the waterfall. If you're lucky, Fresh Water should be sitting on the ground around the waterfall (shining stars represent the item). Grab it, return to Angel Falls, give the Fresh Water to the man there, and take the tonic he creates. Then, return the tonic to Angus to receive your well-earned prize -- a Seed of Life.
