Chronicles of Narnia Reading Challenge
Two years ago a fellow blogger decided that the month of July should be devoted to C.S Lewis’s wonderful Chronicles of Narnia.
So, because I’m on holidays, and I really need something to do, I am going to participate this year and endeavor to read all the books. I never read them growing up, and contemplated reading them when the first movie came out, but never did – so I went and brought the books from Dymocks after my last exam and started reading – and was immediately hooked.
Since my fascination is with the movies, I don’t know how well I’ll go reading the later books in the series, and since I know the ending, I don’t want to read the last one, but, when I started reading the Magician’s Nephew, I really enjoyed it, learning how Narnia was made and the characters Digory and Polly are just as lovable as the Pevensies.
So, here’s what I’m going to do as part of the Narnia Challenge – over the next few weeks I am going to re read each of the books (They take me about a day to read each, between taking breaks and doing chores…) and do a little recap of them here on my blog.
I am catholic, but I don’t think I’ll be looking too hard into the religious aspects of Narnia, I think a lot of people have done that already, so I’m going to focus more on the story side of it – character building, world building, etc.
Then, in the time left over, I’m going to dabble in a little bit of Narnia fanfiction – I’ve already read some wonderful fanfics on FFN and can’t wait to read more.
Strayberry-Liger is doing some wonderful artwork for me, which I will post on the blog later.
So yes! Anyone else feel like joining in and reading this wonderful series?

P.S:
only 2 more weeks until SP: Kingdom of the Wicked is released here in Australia… and the author is coming to AUS, I must go to Dymocks in the city and get his autograph! I’ve never met an international author before (the only other ones I would have wanted to meet were Emily Rhodda and J.K Rowling)
Can’t wait to see what you think about Narnia, I loved it as a child and still do 🙂
