This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Victorian Cape
From the seller:
Beaded and Embroidered Black Velvet Half Cape - Victorian
Beautiful Late Victorian Beaded and Embroidered Black Velvet Half Cape. Green silk lining. Cape is in excellent condition. Lining is in excellent condition except for around the collar where it has worn through (see 4th photograph). Edged in what I believe to be black wool around perimeter of cape and collar.
You do not find these very much anymore.
Length: 27"
The descriptions in my listings were left for me by my mother as I am not as versed in antique and vintage clothing.
Almost all of the items that I will be listing are from my mother's collection. She was a model from the late 1950s until the late 1980s. Her love was antique and ethnic clothing. She also collected jewelry and accessories. These items were used in her modeling.
From Me:
My guess is this is from about 1880 or so but I'm really not sure. If anyone has any idea for a better date, please, comment below.
