Do you have a loved one who has just had surgery or a hospital visit? The Happy Healing collection is perfect if you want to document these memories, sometimes these aren't always happy memories but sometimes they are! In my case, my Dad has just had a hip operation and visiting him in hospital was good for him. He is recovering so well from his operation which is awesome!
I decided on a grid/tic tac toe design for my layout today! Using black thread, I machine stitched a plus sign in the centre of a sheet of white cardstock to create 4 sections on my layout and added different coloured water colours in each quadrant. I trimmed down the white cardstock and adhered it to the Cross My Heart patterned paper.
I placed my 2 photos in the centre of the layout with some vellum placed underneath. I did use foam tape underneath to pop these up from the page, I tucked some of the larger die-cuts under the photos with just a hint of them visible.
It was really fun to pick out colour co-ordinating embellishments for each quadrant on my layout! I added them tone on tone, choosing stickers from the This and That sticker sheet, die-cuts from the Odds and Ends pack and Bits and Pieces pack. My 'Recovery' title is from the Chit Chat pack and I added a small heart sprinkle to the stethoscope from the Get Well Soon pack.
Some of the smaller embellishments I added were the Sprinkles, Puffy Icons and cardstock stickers. I added a heart in each quadrant to help with the visual aspect of the page, having common shapes in a design, helps to draw the eye around the page.
I love how my layout turned out and hope you get to create using the Happy Healing collection too! Can't wait to see what you create! Happy creating!
