SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS LOTS OF LOVE | with Lisa

Have you seen the new Shadow Boxes and Shadow Box kits?  If you haven't, you really need to check them out. There are a bunch of new kits for different Doodlebug collections!  Of course, you don't necessarily need to use the shadow boxes to create something with the stickers and jewels in the kits, but I made my first project using them with the 8x8 black shadow box frame and I think they're really cute!  I altered mine a bit from the original kit to make a heart!

The idea is to fill in a space with as many embellishments as you can. The way I did it and I think that's the best way to do it, is to start with the big stickers and go smaller and smaller until you only have tiny spaces left where you can use the smallest jewels. 

As a background, I used a cupcake dotted patterned paper from the Petite Prints papers. I cut it to 8x8 and then traced a heart on it. I started with the large cardstock stickers and then went smaller and smaller, using small stickers, enamel shapes and then jewels and tiny stickers. 

I really love that you can do whichever shape you want and use the kit for many other things... I'm thinking about a cover for a mini album... :)

When I was done with the heart, I put the paper into the shadow box and then used some alpha stickers to write Lots of Love onto the frame.  I hope you are inspired to create something pretty with this new product. It's super easy and turns out so cute! HAVE FUN!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS SPECIAL DELIVERY & BUNDLE OF JOY | with Kathy

There's not much more special than a new baby... unless it's two new babies!  My cousin and his wife are expecting twins... a boy and a girl!  We are all so excited for them!  Of course, as soon as I saw the new Shadowbox Insert Kits for Special Delivery and Bundle of Joy I knew I had the perfect gift for the new parents!  I set to work immediately!  Take a peek....

These insert kits are super easy and fun to put together.  They come with all of the stickers, jewels and sprinkles you need, along with a fabulous guide.  You just need to add some pop-dots and foam strips.  I love the Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Foam Squares and 3D foam Strips.  They are the perfect size and width for some of the more delicate stickers. 

To start, you will want to trim the included vellum piece to be 8"x 8".  Then using washi tape (or very low tack tape) center the vellum over the template and secure.  Now for the fun part, embellish! I find it easiest to start with the jewels.  

Next I add the shaped sprinkles which are noted on the template with an "S".  If there's an X with the S, it means to use a foam dot on that sprinkle to pop it up.

Once the sprinkles were done, I added the stickers.  Some stickers are flat while others are popped up... as indicated by an X on the template.  I find it easiest to do all the flat stickers first, then the popped up ones.

This is where the thin pop up strips come in handy.  They can be cut to fit the smallest pieces. Of course you can use any type of foam tape or pop dots.

Once you've got all the stickers done, just check to make sure you haven't missed any spaces.

The kit also comes with a piece of white cardstock to back the vellum.  I trimmed that to be 8"x 8", and added it behind the vellum in the frame.  You can also use patterned paper if you prefer.

These shadowboxes were a big hit with the parents to be... I can't wait to see them in the nursery!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

SHADOWBOX INSERT KITS MADE WITH LOVE ALBUM | with Traci

Hey friends! Today, I'm sharing a new project that I created with the Made With Love collection and matching Shadow Box Insert Kit. It's a cute recipe album that stores all of your 4x6 recipe cards in Storybook page protectors. It will keep them organized and safe from messy fingers. Take a look ...

I started by cutting two 9.5" x 8.5" covers out of white acrylic. You could easily use chipboard or card stock for these instead.

I added the Cupcake Cuties paper to the front for a little color, the "baked with love" piece from the This & That stickers and layered two of the utensil container icon stickers in the corner.

Inside, I used the Shadow Box Insert Kit on the first page. It comes with a circle template, card stock, vellum and tons of stickers to create this adorable collage. The kit is really fun and it's also pretty relaxing. You place each sticker on the vellum with the help of a template behind it - then remove the template. So cute!!

To hold the recipes, I used one package of the 8x8 page protectors (10) that hold 4x6 cards. You could add as many pages to this as you want, as long as the binding rings are large enough. I used 1" rings for mine.

This would be a fun gift for anyone but imagine if you organized this for a new bride! Before sending out the shower invitations ... include a recipe card and a return envelope. Then as you receive everyone’s favorite recipes, add them to this cute album. The bride will love this sweet gift!
