Hi there! Welcome! I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Something that not very many people know about me is that the 4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday! I think it is because it is warm and sunny outside. We usually get to spend it with our family and dear friends, lots of yummy food is involved and I don't have to buy anyone presents lol! So I definitely jumped for joy when I saw the adorable "Land that I Love" collection that celebrated my favorite holiday! Today I am happy to share a layout with you with some photos of my kiddos when they were little. Gotta love a throwback photo or two!
I LOVE using sketches when I create layouts - and I especially love the sketches over at the
PageMaps website. This layout was inspired by this adorable layout and I pretty much followed it exactly. Big thanks to them for creating such a fun sketch!
I love that this collection included some aqua in the color pallet along with the traditional red, white, and blue. The colorful dots on the Polka Dot Parade paper were a great pop of color on my white cardstock background. I also added a strip of the "America the Beautiful" paper with the tiny colorful grid. I like to add different scales of pattern paper on my layouts for interest.
The title is made from some of the Odds and Ends. I added a blue star Shaped Sprinkle to the dot on the "J" for some shine. The little "parade" sticker is found on the "This and That" sticker sheet. The banner along the top is also from the Odds and Ends.
The fireworks from the Odds and Ends were too cute not to use so I added a couple of them around the title. I embellished them a little further with some Stickles and Nuvo Drops for dimension. Aren't those little smiley stars so fun? They are also from the Odds and Ends and I added them to the center of the fireworks with some foam tape.
These next photos are some close-ups of the rest of the decorations on the page. The cute snow-cone is from the Odds and Ends and I added some Stickles on the dots for some sparkle.
I can't forget to add journaling to the page - this was typed up on the computer and then mounted on a piece of the red "Family Picnic" paper that I notched the end to make into a banner shape. I tied some Swimming Pool Doodle Twine on the end. You can also see I added lots of star Shape Sprinkles here and there throughout the layout. They add such a shine!!
Something new that I am including with my projects is a printable set of instructions on how YOU can recreate my projects. I am calling them "Doodle Downloads and I will attach a link below that will take you to a Google Doc with a supply sheet and full instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions!
