LAND THAT I LOVE LAYOUT | with Kathy

Last summer my daughter had an internship in NYC.  For the 4th of July she was invited to a friend's house all the way out on the north fork of Long Island, a town called Mattituck.  The girls had a blast!  Part of their celebration was at the Mattituck Old Fashioned Street Fair... lots of good food, music and crafts!  Lucky for me they also took lots of pictures!  It's so hard to get pictures of them out with friends once they reach a certain age!  I used the Land That I Love Collection to scrap one of my favorites.

I love the graph side of the America the Beautiful paper.  I used it as my background, then cut 3x4 pieces of some of the other patterned papers and lined them up to be the background for my photo.

I used a lot of the Odds & Ends to embellish.  I love that banner!

I also used some of the stickers from the This and That sheet as well as the icons sticker sheet.  And of course... I had to use some of the Stars and Stripes Shapes Sprinkles!

For my title, in addition to the Odds and Ends pieces, I used some of the new Sunshine alpha stickers... they are the perfect "in between" size!

LAND THAT I LOVE SHADOWBOX CARD | with Kathy

The Fourth of July will be here before we know it!   Most of the fireworks around where I live have been cancelled, but I was able to make may own using the Land that I Love Collection.  Take a peek...

I altered the base of this shadow box card from Lori Whitlock to make the base of the card.  I covered the outside of the card with the fireworks side of the Summer Celebration paper.  For the night sky inside, I used the Hip Hip Hooray paper.

Inside the card, I added some of the fireworks Odds & Ends pieces along with stickers from the Icons sheet in the shadow box.  I love the dimension of a shadow box card, it looks like a night sky full of lights!

To finish  I popped out the cute little eagle on the front and added a firework sticker from the Icons sheet to his "wing" so it looks like he's setting off more fireworks.  I also added the sentiment banner from the set.  The best part of this card is it folds flat for mailing.  Have you made any projects using the new Land That I Love Collection?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

JULY 4TH PARADE LAYOUT | with Tya

Hi there! Welcome! I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Something that not very many people know about me is that the 4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday! I think it is because it is warm and sunny outside. We usually get to spend it with our family and dear friends, lots of yummy food is involved and I don't have to buy anyone presents lol! So I definitely jumped for joy when I saw the adorable "Land that I Love" collection that celebrated my favorite holiday! Today I  am happy to share a layout with you with some photos of my kiddos when they were little. Gotta love a throwback photo or two!

I LOVE using sketches when I create layouts - and I especially love the sketches over at the PageMaps website.  This layout was inspired by this adorable layout and I pretty much followed it exactly. Big thanks to them for creating such a fun sketch!

I love that this collection included some aqua in the color pallet along with the traditional red, white, and blue. The colorful dots on the Polka Dot Parade paper were a great pop of color on my white cardstock background. I also added a strip of the "America the Beautiful" paper with the tiny colorful grid. I like to add different scales of pattern paper on my layouts for interest.

The title is made from some of the Odds and Ends.  I added a blue star  Shaped Sprinkle to the dot on the "J" for some shine. The little "parade" sticker is found on the "This and That" sticker sheet. The banner along the top is also from the Odds and Ends.

The fireworks from the Odds and Ends were too cute not to use so I added a couple of them around the title. I embellished them a little further with some Stickles and Nuvo Drops for dimension. Aren't those little smiley stars so fun? They are also from the Odds and Ends and I added them to the center of the fireworks with some foam tape.

These next photos are some close-ups of the rest of the decorations on the page. The cute snow-cone is from the Odds and Ends and I added some Stickles on the dots for some sparkle.

I can't forget to add journaling to the page - this was typed up on the computer and then mounted on a piece of the red "Family Picnic" paper that I notched the end to make into a banner shape. I tied some Swimming Pool Doodle Twine on the end. You can also see I added lots of star Shape Sprinkles here and there throughout the layout. They add such a shine!!

Something new that I am including with my projects is a printable set of instructions on how YOU can recreate my projects. I am calling them "Doodle Downloads and I will attach a link below that will take you to a Google Doc with a supply sheet and full instructions. Please let me know if you have any questions! LAND THAT I LOVE - ONE STAMP THREE WAYS | with Karen

One stamp three ways - that was my goal for this week's post! Recently, Doodlebug launched the adorable Land that I Love collection and I was pretty smitten with the stamps. But there was one in particular that stood out for me - the bicycle - so I decided it would be fun to create three cards with the same stamp. The fun part of using the same stamp over and over is that you can play around with the colours. Blue bike? Red bike? How about both! And given that there are so many fun variations of blue in this collection, there are all sorts of fun ways to dress up this bicycle! And with different background stamps like clouds, hearts, stars and sentiments, one stamp can go a long way! And to finish it off, I always love adding some great sprinkles for dimension and you are all set! These fun coordinating star shaped sprinkles are pretty darn cute - in fact, I may have used almost all of the package up on these three cards! Time to order more! So, I am all set for July birthdays and thank-you cards! How about you?
Thanks for stopping by!

LAND THAT I LOVE LAYOUT | with Erica

Who loves summer weather, barbecue's and fireworks? I know we do and each year we get the kids all the red, white and blue shirts to help celebrate the 4th of July (and to match moms layouts). I love to take photos of all the kids and Liam Jay was a blast to photograph last year. He was so silly and gave me some great faces. He also loved to hide his face which was his favorite thing to do. I used the new Land That I Love collection to document these sweet photos of Liam Jay.
I used the Back to School Star Background cut file that you can find in the Lori Whitlock shop HERE;. I cut the file out on some textured white cardstock and backed it with papers from the 6x6 paper pad. I did use my Silhouette Cameo to cut out all the stars for me. If this is something that you would like to learn how to do please leave me a comment down below and I can get a quick video up for you! It is easy to do and you can get all the pieces cut to back the file using different pattern papers!
I had so much fun adding chit chat pieces from the Land That I Love collection around my photo! The firecrackers are my favorite and you can also get firecrackers in the doodlepops;! I layered them up around the photo and added some cute flags to the top of my photos!
I love all the red, white and blue and the all american title piece was the perfect piece to add as my title! Here is a look at my completed layout using the Land That I Love collection! I hope you found some inspiration here today! Make sure to check back tomorrow for even more inspiration!

LAND THAT I LOVE PARTY FAVORS | with Shellye

Small party or large party? Any sized crowd would love celebrating the 4th of July festivities with a unique party display featuring the "Land That I Love" Collection!

Use any tray that you have on hand and fill with paper food trays, flag topped straws, sparklers, treat cups, wooden spoons, etc.

From my local dollar store, I purchased these food tray/boats.  I re-constructed the boats by turning them into more of a square shape.  Next, I simply wrapped strips of scrapbook paper around the sides. Embellish even further, if you'd like, with die-cuts and stickers...or have those out so guests can decorate their own trays!

Paper treat cups, wooden or plastic utensils are easy things to embellish. For the tops of the wooden spoons, I cut the small hearts (from scrapbook paper sheets) and attached to the handles.
I used the scallop tag die and the new Sunshine alpha stickers to create a little signage.

I picked up a package of these metallic straws at The Dollar Tree!  To embellish, I glued a 2X2 card to the side.  You could also punch holes or cut slits and slide the straws through.

And every tray needs a cute 'lil centerpiece!  Again, another find from The Dollar Tree is this blue glittered star.  I added an easel by hot-gluing a sturdy piece of chipboard to the back. Chunky Twine was added around the star and then I used various die-cuts and stickers to embellish.

Add various washi tapes to the tray so that guests can mark their cups!
There are so many other possibilities and ways to incorporate the cute designs found in this adorable patriotic collections...thanks for joining!

LAND THAT I LOVE LAYOUT | with Tegan

If you asked me what my favorite Doodlebug Design collection is, I would have a difficult time choosing because they are all so great! If you asked me what my favorite collection is right now, I'd say the Land That I Love collection! I knew it was a great collection when I first saw it, but I love it even more after creating with it!

I started this layout by using the star from the Doodlebug Design Lots O' Luck Lucky Shapes Cut File to create a background pattern in my Silhouette software. I simply resized the star to about 1/4" and copy and pasted them randomly in the software. I didn't really worry too much about placement and just had fun scattering them around the page. I then used white cardstock to cut out the background and backed my page with blue and red Land That I Love patterned papers.

Right away I knew I definitely wanted to use some of the Summer Celebration (fireworks) Patterned Paper! I used Odds & Ends Ephemera and Mini Icons Stickers to embellish above the photo. I love adding Sprinkles epoxy shapes to the die cuts for a little extra dimension.

And I love that I was able to die cut the perfect oval tag for placing the rest of my title using the Doodle Cuts Mini Tags Dies. I was able to easily create a layered tag by cutting tags out of both blue and aqua papers. The tags have a 'stitched line' border that is die cut in to the tag. I simply just hand cut the excess off the blue tag following this border and adhered it on to the aqua one.  And OF COURSE I had to include the brand new Sunshine Alphabet Stickers on my page. To say that I love these alphabet stickers is an understatemen!
You can see here the stitch marks on the dies and some more examples. The cute little tag possibilities are endless with the Doodle Cuts Mini Tags Set!
The Land That I Love collection is the perfect mix of red, white, blue, aqua, and adorable graphics. Aren't the little red firecracker and blue popsicle just the cutest?! I hope you love this collection as much as I do!
Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

LAND THAT I LOVE - GIFT CARDS & TAGS | with Stephanie

I am absolutely in love with Doodlebug's new Land that I Love Collection! And there’s just something special about the red, white and blue color combination that makes me happy. It’s awesome for 4th of July cards, layouts, albums and other projects, but doesn’t always have to be just for that! For today’s project I created an assortment of cards and tags using a bunch of elements from this adorable collection. Here’s a look:
First up is my slimline card. This card meausres approximately 3 1/2" by 8 1/2” and what I love about this size, is that it opens up the possibility to use longer elements in the odds and ends die cut packs, like the cute banners and phrases. The hello sentiment is a die from the All Occasion Doodle Cuts set which I cut 3 times and layered to give it a little dimension. I used some Doodle Pop and Sprinkles stickers to embelish my scene.

Next are two cards measuing approximately 3"x 4”.  I used some of the 6x6 pattern papers and a couple of the Summer Streamers cut apart cards (which I trim down a little on every side) as well as Odds and Ends pieces that I layered on top, and adhere with foam tape for dimension.  The shape sprinkes are so dang cute, I use them all the time to give my projects an added pop of color and an element of glossy shine.

For some of my layers I used stiched pierced and scallop circle and square dies.

Lastly, are the tiny 3”x 3” cards and a couple tags.  I used lots more 6x6 pattern paper, some square Cut Aparts and for the tags, of course more Doodle Pops!
I know you are going to love playing with this new Collection as much as I have and we can’t wait to see what you create- so be sure to share your projects on Doodlebug’s social media!
