  1. I’ll sell everything I own, including my kidneys…

Sad to say (I’d join you, if I could…), unless you’re already in the billionaire class, it wouldn’t be enough – hang in there a decade or two (or three…), though – and meanwhile, work on acquiring the physical and mental skills needed for a “space pioneer”.

Now that private enterprise/commercial interests are directly involved, development is speeding up – though manned “expeditions” are still a ways off (maybe a long ways off), there will come a need for “a few good men/women”…

I don’t think it can all be the machines on their own – if they don’t (eventually) send people, ultimately, what’s the point?

Magnificent – whatever the immediate motivation, for my money, this sort of thing is the best and most valiant kind of effort the human race is presently exerting in this existence. Just the opposite of ugly little scuffles over territory, religion, etc.

  2. genes – here’s your ticket – at this point, it’s a round-tripper (by intent, anyway), and the tariff is presently…$100 Million.

Who knows just what another decade or so will bring, though?

Start saving up…wonder what I can get for a used kidney or two?

(Found while looking at Armadillo Aerospace, a developer of reusable liquid-fueled rocket engines and vehicles I’ve been following for a few years now – they recently set up a business arrangement with Space Adventures, who have actually already handled the “space tourist” events that you may have heard/read about. Apparently, Space Adventures will use Armadillo Aerospace‘s engine systems and/or rocket vehicles for some or all of their future ventures.)
