Baby Blankets Made with the Knook ~ Book Review

Baby Blankets Made with the Knook
by Melissa Leapman
Available in eBook & Book format from LeisureArts.com

As you all know I am a huge fan of the knook.
Even now that I have started to learn to knit I will
most certainly carry on using the Knook.

Blankets make such a wonderful gift, especially for new babies.

There is something about a blanket, it can be used for a lifetime
and then passed on to new generations.

This books gives everyone something to make.
All the instructions are included if you are new to knooking.
And all the patterns use the skills to make beautiful unique blankets.

The 6 beautiful designs  for beginner to intermediate-plus skill levels
each have their own look that will brighten up any nursery.
You can tailor the colours to your choices.
The only problem you may have is choosing which design to make.

I really love this book because the designs are the
ideal projects to hone your skills and make beautiful gifts
that will be used for generations to come.

Simple Scarves Made with the Knook ~ Book Review

Simple Scarves Made with the Knook
available in eBook and Book format from LeisureArts.com

Knooking is the new craze and I'm one of the ones on the band wagon.

I love the fact that you can knit with a hook.
Just adding a cord to the hook to make it a knook
you can knit away with a hook.

Making scarves is a fantastic way to learn the stitches,
practice them and make beautiful items.

With these fantastic 9 designs you'll have something to
make everyone in your life including yourself.

The clear easy to read instructions teach you how to
knook whether you are left or right handed.

All the scarves feature medium weight yarn
worked with the Knook in classic rib knit patterns

I know it's not really the time for scarves but what
a brilliant time to get started on all you winter presents :-).

Easy Knit Projects Using the Knook for Kids ~ Book Review

Easy Knit Projects using the Knook for Kids
available in eBook & Book format from LeisureArts.com

Beginners of all ages will enjoy these easy knit projects to make
using the large size Kids Knooks (L-8 mm and M-9 mm) for bulky and super bulky yarns.

These 9 designs by Karen Ratto-Whooley are a fantastic
introduction to knooking.
Using the larger size hooks makes the stitches easier to learn
and makes the projects a quick fix :-)

I am sure any child would love to make these fantastic designs
to wear.
Infact any age would love making them.

All the patterns are clear and easy to understand
and with access to the Leisure Arts video tutorial as well
you will be more than capable of learning all the stitches
and completing the projects.

I love the fun and easy designs and it's a brilliant craft for children to learn.
Some children/adults (me) struggle to learn to knit
but knooking is just so much easier to pick up.

The designs are fun and funky that are
brilliant for exciting any child into making.

I love the fact that the patterns range from quick fixes to more
bigger long term projects.

I also love the fact that although the book is designed for kids
the patterns are ones that you would want to make for adults as well.

I love this backpack. I am sure Little Red would
love one in red :-)

Everything is covered and each project is simple enough for them not
to be confusing.
With just some basic stitches you can make all of these amazing projects.

And if you don't have any knooks don't worry
you can buy the starter kit for a really reasonable price.
Knook Kit for Kids

Baby Beanies Made with the Knook ~ Book Review

Front Cover
Baby Beanies Made with the Knook
available in eBook & Book format from LeisureArts.com

http://www.leisurearts.com/categories/craft/the-knook.html

Yet again Leisure Arts bring you another fantastic book
of patterns for you to Knook.

Bumps

If you are struggling to learn to knit in the round then the knook
would be ideal!
If you crochet and want to knit without having to use knitting needles
then the knook is ideal!
If you want the ease of hook but being able to knit stitches
then the knook is ideal!

Tracks

The idea of the knook is you add your stitches to your hook
(a bit like tunisian crochet)
but then you push them onto the cord that is attached to the hook.
In doing this you don't drop stitches and you only use a hook
to make the stitches.
The cord is a bit like your spare needle that you knit the stitches from.

Double Diamonds

The brilliant think about using the knook and the cord
is if you mark the start of your round it is really easy
to go around and around.
You don't drop stitches and it's so much easier with a flexible cord.

Doughnuts

As you can see from the pictures of these 7 designs from Dorothy E. Uhlir
use the knitting stitches you really show off your work.
The designs are fun and interesting and perfectly show
off the knit stitches.

Lace Diamonds

If you are a crocheter that never thought they would be able to achieve
knitting garments then this is your chance.
I love the fact that all those designs and stitches that were out of my reach
are now firmly there and I can do them using a hook!!!

Waves

The designs are fun, interesting and would make brilliant gifts.
Wouldn't you just love for your baby to be snuggled up in one of these
beautiful hats?

Marbles

I think my niece is going to be wearing a lot of these :-)
I would highly recommend the book.
It's easy to follow, easy to understand.
There are full clear instructions and step-by-step guides
to learning the stitches.
If you are still having problems understanding the stitches
Leisure Arts has also provided tutorial videos
that you can watch online to make things easier for you.
I love Dorothy's designs and can't wait to make quite a few of these beautiful hats!!!
