What You Doing Wednesday Week 210

How is your week going?

I did actually write this post last night

but the blogger app on my phone wouldn't work.

In the end even though I had saved it,

it lost it!

The weather is awful here today.

The water breaking up is through all

the rain lashing down onto it.

We should be grateful, places near us have

snow and/or hail.

I'm afraid I haven't made much this week.

I have started a course on Craftsy.

I am doing the:

See Better, Draw Better: Exercises for Beginners

I have only just started so don't think 

you'll see anything spectacular.

The other thing is these drawings are done 

not looking at the paper.

You have to look at the item you are drawing 

and move your hand

to what you see but not look at your paper.

Can you at least tell what I was drawing?

A Pear

I don't think it was too bad as I wasn't looking

at what I was drawing.

I also feel I must have got the general shape

as a few of them are very similar.

I'm afraid I am not going to show the others I did

as they were awful.

As soon as you put a straight line in the drawing

my left is always a lot shorter than my right side.

I have been making Red Monster a little something.

I had a tin that I had given him with a little bear

in a bed in.

He never really played with it so I decided to make

him something that he might play with more.

I made him a Pokemon Charmander.

It has a piece of meat and bone to eat,

a bowl to put it in, a ball and a poke-ball.

I am making it a bed as well.

I can't wait to show it to you on Friday.

Anyway I better go and get something done.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 209

How is your week going?

Things have been quite quiet here.

Red Monster is being bullied in school again

so we are trying to get that sorted.

We are trying to teach him not to react

but it's difficult.

We have been taking some muddy walks

this week.

There is soo much mud!

We could do with a bit of sunshine but it

seems to be hiding at the moment.

My shawl is coming along nicely!

I can't believe how much of my blanket I have made.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 208

Wow 2017!

The start of the year has been slightly delayed.

I caught this horrible chest infection that

everyone seems to be going down with.

This meant an out of hours visit from the Dr

and being placed straight on antibiotics & steroids.

If there had been beds at the hospital I would of

been in hospital as well but there weren't any

so I got to stay at home.

I had the highest temperature I have ever had in my life

and my oxygen levels went down to 93%.

It wasn't nice but luckily I am on the road to recovery.

I didn't make any new years resolutions this year.

I decided to just go with the flow.

This year is going to be big enough as it is.

Later on in the year we are going to South Africa.

I haven't been back since I left when I was five.

We are going to Cape Town first to visit my

mother-in-law in her holiday home over there.

Then it's over to Cape Town to visit my relatives.

We are soo excited and nervous.

It's weird I was born in South Africa and at the same

time my husband and his family moved out there.

They came back about the same time we did as well.

There are other things changing but I can't tell

you about them yet.

Once I have the all clear I will spill the beans.

It's very exciting.

Red Monster is in his final year at junior school.

He is waiting to find out which High School he will

be going to.

We find out the end of March.

He is nervous and excited about the next stage

in his life coming.

Christmas was fantastic.

It was so family orientated but relaxing as well.

On Christmas day my mum and dad came to our house

for dinner.

This was the first time my mum hadn't cooked in

over 40 years.

She loved being able to enjoy the day rather than

rushing round and getting everything cooked etc.

Then they took Red Monster with them

and went to visit my brother and his family.

Red Monster stayed at theirs and then we picked

him up the next day before going and visiting

his Nana and husband for lunch.

As I have been ill I have been resting a lot

and spending the time making.

I am making a Solid Granny Square Blanket

using the blanket pack from Wool Warehouse

The pack is called

Aren't the colours beautiful!

I have also started knitted the

"The Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief"

It's a nice relaxing knit.

Whilst doing all this relaxing I have been

watching some boxsets.

I have watched Lewis series 1-7 so far.

A Place to Call Home.

Conviction.

I have just started to be able to go out

for a short walk again.

Not far but it gets the dogs out.

It wasn't a very nice day and the weather

seems to be getting worse and worse everyday.

It looks like we might have snow tomorrow.

Red Monster is super excited.

Anyway I better go and get Red Monster

out of his bed and ready for school.

I will post again on Friday and show

you the Tea Cozies I crocheted for my mum.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 207

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope your week is going well!

Time is going by so fast!

I have nearly finished my Christmas shopping.

Then there is just the task of wrapping everything.

I still can't show you anything

as they are Christmas presents.

I can however introduce you to Benji's new friend.

We met someone who lived locally to us

and she has a dog that was at home on her own.

We offered to have her each day.

She gets dropped off before her owner goes to work

and then picked up on their way home.

Benji is loving having a friend. 

I have nearly finished my Christmas shopping

and about half of the presents are all wrapped.

I feel so much better when I don't have to

worry about what to get etc.

It's also fantastic having all these parcels

coming to the door.

Online shopping is my savior.

I can't manage Christmas shopping in the shops

so I buy everything online and as soon

as it gets delivered I wrap the present

so I can do it in stages and don't push

myself too much.

Anyway I better go, I am wrapping

today's presents that have arrived.

I loooovvveee Christmas!

I am just so excited.

Have you started your Christmas buying yet?

I have to tell you about what I have

bought for me and Red Monster

to do:

The Kindness Elves.

It teaches your child to do something kind each day.

I am so excited by this.

I think in today's society it's nice

to teach children to do things for others.

Hopefully by doing this little bit

we can make the world a slightly

kinder place!

What You Doing Wednesday Week 206

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope your week is going well!

I didn't know if I was going to post today.

All my WIP's are for Christmas presents

so I can't show them.

I have never been so scared off the world

as I am today.

I don't know what Trump getting

into power means but it scares me.

Red Monster is off ill with a stomach bug.

He isn't allowed back into school

for 48hrs after begin ill so he can't

go back till tomorrow.

The weather changing has really knocked

my CFS for six.

I have spent a number of days curled

up on the couch not being able

to do much!

Thank Goodness for Netflix.

I watched the Crown this week.

Amazing!

I have learnt so much!

It also fantastic to watch.

What You Doing Wednesday Week 205

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope your week is going well!

Wow November already!

I hope you had a good October.

Red Monster was off school last week.

We had a bit of a relaxing week.

I'm having problems sleeping

due to my medication change and

we still haven't been able to find a replacement

that works.

I'm back to the doctors on Thursday again

to try and find something that will work.

Red Monster didn't mind.

He enjoyed not having to rush around.

School is such hard work that he needs

the time to stop and relax his brain.

He stayed at Granny and Grandad's at

the weekend and went to Martin Mere.

They were having a Halloween special.

They went hunting round for clues

and they also carved a pumpkin.

 

Red Monster is back at school now.

The weather has changed greatly in the last week.

Autumn arrived and it's getting colder.

We had the first frost this morning.

The garden is completely confused by the weather.

I have strawberries growing, flowers flowering

and then the trees have all changed.

Benji doesn't mind he loves running

no matter what the weather is.

This is me curled up in bed with Benji

crocheting him a Halloween costume.

He won't wear much so I just made him a collar.

I'll show you it finished on Friday.

I can't show you my other make as it's

a Christmas present.

I can't wait till after Christmas and I can

show you what I have made.

Due to a lack of sleep my illnesses are

playing up.

I have wasted quite a few days which I find

frustrating.

I am too tired to do anything and I am too

tired to sleep.

Plus the lack of sleep means lots of pain.

I've had a number of bed bound days

but I am trying to get up everyday I can.

Hopefully the doctor will find a new

set of medication that works.

I hope you have a good November!

What You Doing Wednesday Week 204

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope your week is going well!

Wow what a busy week this week is.

Last Saturday we went down to my mum and dad's

as their tap was leaking.

My brilliant hubby ended up fitting them new taps

so they no longer have a leak.

Sunday I was a bit rough so it was a lazy day

with not a lot happening.

So Benji sat on the window sill looking outside.

Monday I had a bone density scan.

I find out the results in a couple of weeks.

A couple of the medications I am on can

cause thinning of the bones (which I didn't know).

Tuesday Red Monster went for his Kidney scan.

He had a kidney infection a few months ago

and there were blood clots so they decided just

to make sure there wasn't anything more serious.

Luckily it was all fine and everything looked normal.

It was funny because it turns out the nurse lives

round the corner from us.

I have met her a few times when she was walking her dog.

I am making even more poppies.

They are very popular.

I think just about every teacher

in my sons school is wearing them.

I am making the matching hat to

my fingerless gloves.

I am also making a sign for my bedroom.

I can't wait to show it to you finished.

This Friday Red Monster has his last assembly :-(.

Hubby and my mum and dad are coming to watch him.

It's going to be strange not going to all sorts of events.

Once he is at high school their isn't as much

interaction with parents.

Red Monster was in the newspaper.

An author had come to visit his school.
