Array of Colors

I needed some eye candy to brighten up my night. I think I've accomplished the task. This first picture, all I can say is wow. Stole. The. Show. That's one heady igneous rock, brah.

Idealistic Coloring

I have always said that I like to walk through airport tunnels dreamy-eyed, so that the lights change to magical arrays of colors, while strange, hypnotic music is playing as my soundtrack. I make everything a disco. But, that's just me, and, well, I'm a visionary.

Magic Is Something You Make

So, I saw online this super nifty idea to cut up old t-shirts and turn them into scarves. I don't know about you, but this got me extremely excited. Unused, old shirts transformed into hipster scarves? I'm almost positive Oprah would call this juicy idea a "full circle" moment. These make really great gifts for the holidays, so I'll share. Here we go:

You will need:
-An old t-shirt without seams on the sides, preferably XL
-Scissors
-A tape measure (if you really want to be nit-picky).

That's it. Cray cray, huh? Okay. I tried to make an illustration. Tried.

Step 1: Lay shirt flat and cut off the seam around the bottom.

Step 2: Now you want to cut horizontal 1.5 inch strips, which are actually large circular loops. Cut all the way to the armpits.

Step 3: You are left with around 15 loops. Stretch them (like pulling taffy, I guess) so that the material curls up. Then, voila! Done. Easy Breezy.

Then you can also make another scarf from the scraps of that t-shirt. You should be left with something resembling this:

Step 1: Cut off the sleeves and the neck seam.

Step 2: Cut vertical 1.5 inch strips until about 2 inches from the top.

You should have this:

Step 3: Stretch out the neck so that it curls. You can either stretch the strips or leave them alone. I did both.

I brought all the ones I made to Bear Creek Music Fest to sell. If you wanna skip all the work and just buy one from me, email jade (at) coffeeandcashmere (dot) com.
