Old copper coin part 2

Found a load of old Belgian copper coins in my cupboard.  Started to sort them in the different decades from 1950 untill 2002.

 1950 - 1960 - 1970 - 1980 (most of them) - 1990

The row on the right has been cleaned and polished

Here you can see the former blogpost with an old copper coin.

This was the inspiration to make these necklaces.
A friend asked me to repare this necklace made out of handblown glass bubbles from Venice.  Delicate and very fragile, but beautiful !

Tour de France 2012 and recycling

Totally under the spell of the Tour de France 2012 I made some necklaces out of
the innertubes of my husbands racing bike.  Just tiny pieces of about 0.5 cm to 1 cm for these necklaces.

I would be such a nice initiative if 'the Tour' would recycle some of the tires that pop during the 'etappes'.

No idea what happens to this expensive natural material after the races.
Anyone ?

ps : they can send them to me ;-)

Classic with a twist

As still no 'details' can be crocheted - I am experimenting with other possibilities to uplift a classic beaded necklace into something more modern.
Here  I used some silver wire and seed beads to make an unsual detail.

These sodalite beads look a lot bigger on photo than they really are - they only mesure 4mm - I've twisted some silk yarn around the basic wire for a nice detail.
This uplifts this classid necklace into a more modern version.

Asymmetric beading instead of crocheting

Amazonite and aquamarine beads combined with matt glass

Eggshaped silk picasso jasper combined with lava and crackled mountaincristal.

Taking a closer look you would discover these white disco faceted jade beads that just look like golfballs.

Recycled one crochet pin to make this necklace with a crochet bead.

All one of a kind and on sale in my shop.

Leftovers

Loosing one of your favorite earrings doesn't have to be a
disaster ...

One of my friends gave me some of her 'one-leftover' earrings, so I decided to make her happy and make a quite necklace with the 'leftover'.

The brass one is intact, the second one is sterling silver and I
added just a little flower.

Before and after

As my crochet needle is still laying abandoned in a little corner, I try to repimp some of the crochetprojects that I have made during the last years.

before : broochpin with 1 crochet bead

after : reused the crochet bead in a necklace with a seed and nuts mix

Remake of this simple choker into a twisted one.

Or should this be called : reinventing  ?

Beading again

Can't sit still, can't crochet, can't use my arm a lot ... so made these simple beaded necklaces.

As crocheting is still not possible, I made some necklaces for
a custom request : something with orange !
The first and last one where chosen.
