Vanity Trove: The Curated Version

It's been a while since I have been parading my troves ... Vanity Trove Beauty Boxes to be exact  =D I felt extremely 'atas' when the recent purchase from Vanity Trove was encased in this cream based with gold lining box. Yes, sometimes packaging makes a lot of difference in a purchase. A pretty packaging makes a happy customer. This is by far the classiest box around! =D

As usual there was a selection of 6 items allowed for a trove and these are what I have gotten for October 2013 :)

Decléor Aroma Cleanse Fresh Purifying Gel & Lotion (10ml)
Retail: RM118 per 200 ml for each bottle

Having tried some of Decléor products before, these too have the floral scent like the other range. A very pleasant one that refreshes your daily cleansing regime. It's also good to know that despite being produced with concotions of chemical-derived agents and catalyst, these are paraben-free product. 

Parabens are chemical preservatives that have been identified as estrogenic and disruptive of normal hormone function. Talika Lipocils Eyelash Conditioning Gel (2ml)
Retail : RM185 for 10ml

Derived from plant extract, it actually guarantees longer and thicker eyelashes in just 28 days! Great news for those who have never found a solution for naturally longer lash and depends solely on mascaras =D Claims to be able to give a lift for those who have short and sparse lashes, brittle and lack of lustre.

Nuxe Nuxellence Jeunesse (15ml)

Youth and Radiance Revealing Fluid

Retail: RM180  for 50ml

There has been so much rave about Nuxe this couple of months that I can't resist not getting it to try out. Upon reading the product info, it feels like I have found an obvious answer to anti-aging! It claims to be able to repair the mitochondrial DNA of the skin to reveal the skin youthfulness and radiance.

A pinkish based cream with a soothing scent of floral that is good to go as moisturiser for those with normal skin. You may need another layer of moisturiser for those who have severely dry skin as this may not give you the sufficient  moisture level on its own.

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multipurpose Dry Oil (10ml)

Retail : RM88 for 50ml, Rm148 for 100ml

The oil that doesn't leave you oily - Nuxe Hule Prodigieuse! Most of the Nuxe products have names that is almost impossible to be pronounced correctly, yet gives you the most of benefits =D I love the scent of this oil! It's not floral, instead more spicy and classic. With a  unique concentration of 6 Precious Oils (Borage, St. John's Wort, Sweet Almond, Camellia, Hazelnet Hazelnut and Macadamia) and Vitamin E, it leaves your skin silky smooth and with the lingering scent that is soothing. As it's not oily, you can use it on your face too besides the normal use on body for that boost of hydration.

Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream at 7ml

Retail: RM210 for 50ml

At the mention of the word 'Super' there is no doubt that this is another must try sample! I would say that no brands will be that bold to put the word 'SUPER' as part of the product name unless it really is super! It claims to be able to give results in just 4 weeks! This Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream claims is an anti-ageing cream that assist to correct various effects of aging in 2 weeks time and by the time you reach 4 weeks of usage, you are supposed to see the obvious results and efficacy of the cream, so it says. Well, what better way to see if it works, if not try this 7ml sample for 2 weeks :)

Astalift Day Protector SPF35 PA++at 7g

Retails at RM158 for 30ml

The Astalift Day Protector is a lightweight sunscreen lotion with a selection of SPF35 or 50, if not misdtaken as I noticed the one shown in Vanity Trove is SPF50 and I got a SPF35. Which is fine for me as I seldom leave the office anyway =D I like that it's not greasy and extremely lightweight. Formulated with Deep UV Guard Technology, it claims to protect skin against the most harmful UVA rays which most suncreen can't do. Another interesting component which is noteworthy: it contains Fujifilm's propriety optical powder known as "Light Analyzing Powder", the Day Protector White controls the reflection and absorption of light on skin's surface. Wow! Did they mean those Fujifilm negatives contains these powder that gives us the glow when our pictures are developed?

How many of you here have always been reading about Vanity Trove but are still hesitant to give it a try? Without Vanity Trove, I must say I have no idea that brands such as Nuxe, Decleor, Rodial and many more actually exist! Not a fan of shopping mall or that frequent in buying fashion and beauty magazines, I actually rely on these beauty boxes to equip me with the latest of beauty products worthy to try. And for RM50, I get to test and see if the Kiehl's Super Multi-Corrective Cream is going to erase some aging effects off my face, while getting to slather some Nuxe oil for silky smooth skin, and leaving home with a day protector cream that claims to be able to protect from UVA, and sleep over a youth cream that can repair mithocondrial cells for a youthfull face - what else can I ask for!?

And all of the above are curated by yours truly - because I know best what my skin needs ;)

Event Review: K Palette Workshop by Vanity Trove

If there is any beauty box out there that I would always recommend, that would be Vanity Trove of course! Not only did they do a great job in their troves, they also organize awesome workshops! I am never one who likes to attend any form of workshop, press launch, media invites or the sort. Even if it's for FREE! Yes, I am shy like that! =P

But for this time after much persuasion, I braved myself to attend ONE.SINGLE.WORKSHOP. Because there is this Valerie Tan of Vanity Trove who was so persistent in her persuasion that it made me felt that I owe her something! And here I am, paying back something that I owe her - by attending the K Palette workshop jointly organised by Vanity Trove Malaysia.

The workshop was held in Zender's @ Publika, a pretty nice and secluded restaurant for a small group

As I was the first to arrive (kiasu!) I managed to take all the time there is to snap pictures of the products laid nicely on the table before it's being touched by any curious hands =P

Oh the 24 hours Real Lasting Eyeliner is oh-so-fine

The Okuma concealer is perfect to conceal the eye area and to be used as a primer/base 

before applying eye shadow and eyeliner. 

It comes in 3 shades to suit the different tone of the Asian skin.

A bit odd to introduce the BB cream AFTER the concealer as that's not how make up application is! =P The Otema BB cream is pretty fluid compared to those BB cream I have been using. Would think that these are best for those without much skin problems and have less uneven skin tone to tame ;)

We were also given some very useful tips on how to create the perfect cute fade that is seen on most Japanese girls =D The workshop revolves very much on the eyes areas since K Palette's products comprises mainly of eyeliners of various sort.

Inagaki-san had a demonstration on one of the participants while the other participants on the floor, floow suit step by step. She was also kind enough to have a round of inspection to check on our self-learnt skills =D

Here's how to achieve well defined brows!

The workshop was a lot of fun. Learning about eye liners and all other eye related make up thrills me. As they said, your eye says a thousand thing about a person. And dressing up the eyes really does make wonders to a person :)

This is an interesting product for those with bleached hair. 

Match your brow colors with the K Palette Eyebrow mascara 

for a more toned down hue if you have colored your hair to shades of brown.

I forgot how much was this, but it is really a good item to keep to 

alter the color of your brows to match the hair!

Do you also know that we were introduced to the current trend in Japan? The eye bag trend! This is pretty easy for people like me to achieve, as I rarely sleep! But for those who have enough of their pretty sleep but yet would still like to be in the trend of the kawaii-dom, this is something you ought to know.

The eye-bag highlighter! Haha! Apparently this is a trending style by a lot of Asian celebrities 

to achieve the cutesy and innocent look. The product is not out in the market yet unfortunately ;(

Alternatively, you just need to sleep less and smile to have prominent eye bags!

I can't resist leaving the workshop and not buying more stuff! Besides the gift box sponsored by Vanity Trove and K palette which contains K Palette's products, I snapped up more stuff since there were on promotion during the workshop period =D
