Craft Roulette #52 ~ Blue & Balloons!

Happy Sunday all!  Today I'm sharing my Craft Roulette card with you for this week's game.

This week's perimeters were for challenge #52 are:

  • 5x7 sized card
  • Balloon(s)
  • Blue plus 2 more colours (neutrals are okay!)
  • Pencils

So I found some cute animals from My Favorite Things celebrating a birthday to make a card for a friend's up and coming 45th birthday!  I used a number of different stamp sets; "Pawty Time", "Sending Sweet Celebration Wishes" and "Scene Builder" all by Stacey Yacula, one of my favorite stamp designers.

I used Derwent Inktense Pencils to color in all of my scene.  It was fun to use something I haven't used in awhile.

I just love creating using the Craft Roulette game!  It always gets me out of my comfort zone!

And SURPRISE... I will be one of Mary Gunn's guests!  Coming April 30th!!!  I'm so honoured and excited to join her!

You may have already seen this beauty as it was used by Kathy Racoosin on Day 1 of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge!  Isn't it a beaut?!?!

For my final card of the release I chose to watercolor this big beauty with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and then add some details back in using my Prismacolor Pencils.  This image was a pleasure to colour!!!
I know it's extremely hard to see but I created a background using the beautiful sentiment included in the stamp set, distressed it a bit using some Ranger Distress Inks and then did a whole lot of stitching over top and then added the Chevron Segments Die from MFT over top.

Power Poppy: Nature & Nurture Collection Blog Hop

Today’s the day!  The Nature & Nurture Collection from Power Poppy is finally here! This collection consists of three clear stamp sets…

Each of these new clear stamp sets is packed full of detailed, gorgeous images and verb-acious sentiments!  Each one of these stamp collections is now available in the Power Poppy Shop!

For my final card, I wanted so badly to go back and create with the gorgeous new wheat image so I took it and paired it up with the lovely Coneflower also included in this same stamp set.  Doesn’t it just stay “Fall” to you?!?
Derwent Pencils: 0200, 0240, 0300, 0400, 0600, 0700, 1310, 1320, 1400, 1530

I played around with my Derwent Inktense Pencils and some watercolour paper for my card front.  I really wanted the texture of the paper play with my pencils so I only added a small amount of additional texture using an embossed piece of water colour paper to the edge.

Now come and check out what the rest of the Bloom Brigade has been up to using these glorious new stamp sets…

Today is the LAST DAY to enter my giveaway...you have FOUR chances to WIN!

Happy Mail!

TGIF!  Thank goodness it’s almost the weekend!  I could use a nice relaxing one!  Last weekend I took 14 kids and 6 other Scout Leaders to camp and we had a blast.  Camp is always fun but exhausting!!

So a few weeks back I received a lovely card from my friend Susan in Aussie land.  It was simply a card to say “Hey Friend…” and it totally made my day.  I have been meaning to send a very similar card right back to her and so that task fits in perfectly with our newest Power Poppy “Power & Spark Challenge” for June…
For further challenge details, please click here.  You do not need Power Poppy images to play along to win!!!

So here’s my card going to my friend Susan featuring the “Sunny Harvest” stamp set…
Derwent Inktense Pencils: 0240, 0300, 0400, 0610, 1200,1530, 1600, 1700

I just love the subtle shimmer on all the Chinese Lanterns…

I hope you’ll join me in sending out some happy mail today!  You know... just because!

Before I go, make sure you check out all of my fellow Bloom Brigaders and their blogs today…

Tulip Wishes

Howdy all!  Happy Good Friday to everyone!  I hope you get today off to spend with all the amazing people in your life.  I’m lucky enough to have my son AND hubby home this weekend so I’m planning a low-key weekend full of laziness, crocheting and colouring!

Today the Power Poppy Bloom Brigade and the Instant Gardeners are sharing the newest digi release… introducing “Tulips in Hobnail-Pitcher”.
Derwent Inktense Pencils: 0100, 0300, 0400, 0500, 0610, 0740, 1320, 1400, 1500, 1530, 2000, 2200

Isn’t it darling? For my card today I used Derwent Inktense Pencils and can I just LOVE the end result.  The colour you get using these beauties is amazing and so rich and vibrant but can pulled out and made to be light and gorgeously translucent.

For my greeting, I used a sentiment from the equally gorgeous “Simply Camellias”.

Here’s a little close up of my water colour effect…

I used some Copic Multi-liners and a Sakura Jellyroll White Pen to add some of the speckled details to my background.

Don't forget to enter our Power & Spark challenge for the month!  This month our hostess, Stacy, has a fun sketch for you to try out.  For more details and the rules, please click HERE.

Now... come and join my fellow Power Poppy designers and check out what they have created to share with you today...

Switch Up Your Shades!

TGIF everyone!  It’s a new month and so that means it’s time for a new challenge over at Power Poppy! Today’s it’s my month to host!

Your Power & Spark challenge is...

This month I want you pull out a coloring medium that you don't use that often.  So if you tend to use Copic Markers for instance, pull out your water color paints or your colored pencils instead!  Let's see you use up some of those not-so-used mediums this month.

For further challenge details, visit the Power Poppy Blog here.
Today I'm also joining along with Kathy Racoosin’s “30 Day Coloring Challenge” over at Kathy’s blog, “The Daily Marker”.  And my challenge falls in perfectly with Kathy’s challenge too! For more about Kathy’s challenge visit her blog here.

So if you follow my blog, you all know I LOVE my Copic Markers so in keeping with my theme of using a colouring medium that I don’t tend to use a lot, I picked up my Derwent Colored Pencils.

Plus, I also printed out the newest digi stamp released TODAY called “Magnolia Sunshine” and sunshine indeed!  Isn’t it darling and sunny?!?  awwww!

Marcella always makes the most amazing bouquets to colour!  She took inspiration for this beauty from all of her Mama’s favourite flowers…

My simple circular sentiment is from the “Azalea” stamp set!

Derwent Colors used:  Sun Yellow, Sherbet Lemon, Apple Green, Felt Green, Iris Blue, Fuchsia, Chilli Red, Sienna Gold, Baked Earth

Now, off you go and check out what the amazing Bloom Brigade has put together for you today using these five new beautiful stamp sets…

Rustic Christmas & Elfy Greetings

The Dream Team over at StampNation is in fine form this week!  For our challenge this week, we were challenged to make a rustic themed card. Get a load of this…
I think we were all are right in sink with one another this week! Don't ya think?

Here’s a closer look at mine…

I pulled out my Derwent pencils and stamped my chickadee image in “Desert Sand” Memento ink, like in a no-line stamping technique and coloured in my image with pencils.  I love how it turned out!

Plus, this week it’s my turn to post the Card Sketch over at Splitcoaststampers and here’s my card for this week… isn't he adorable?

And here’s the sketch.  I didn’t completely follow it but close enough…

I hope you'll give StampNation a chance, even only for one month!  Especially for January as Catherine will be revealing the new Stamp of Approval box and it's our StampNation Birthday celebration too!  And our birthday bash is always amazing!  Come and join us...
Thanks for stopping by!
