"............Federal officials said Thursday that crude oil being shipped by rail from the Northern Plains across the U.S. and Canada may be more flammable than traditional forms of oil.
A safety alert issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation warns the public, emergency responders and shippers about the potential high volatility of crude from the Bakken oil patch. The sprawling oil shale reserve is fueling the surging industry in eastern Montana and western North Dakota, which is now the nation's second-largest oil producer behind Texas.
Thursday's announcement declares that the Bakken's light, sweet crude oil may be different from traditional heavy crudes because it is prone to ignite at a lower temperature. Experts say lighter crudes, which contain more natural gas, have a much lower "flash point" — the temperature at which vapors given off by the oil can ignite."

 Los Angeles Unified  settled a complaint by Obama's Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights, which contended that the district had failed to provide adequate services to students learning English.

America is already in danger of being separated into sub-sections by the lack of the one necessary element for a unified society – a common language. Now the Los Angeles Unified School District has decided to take a further step backward by segregating classes by the level of English that students speak. In other words, those who speak fluent English will be grouped together, while those who struggle will be grouped together. The change was apparently made due to a complaint from the federal Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, which charged the district with failing to provide adequate services to English-learning students, the L.A. Times said. Some experts reportedly argue that teachers can better focus instruction with students of similar English proficiency. They also claim that it’s easier to teach proper – or “academic” English – in segregated classes. See more here

The National Park Service is allowing an Oct. 8 pro-immigration rally on the national mall, even as it posts pickets and barriers to bar Americans from visiting their open-air memorials.

“They’re going to be allowed to go [ahead] because it is a First Amendment activity,” Shannon Maurer, a spokeswoman for the “March for Immigrant Dignity and Respect,” told The Daily Caller.

The mall is currently marked as closed, and the Harry and Barry team has deployed law enforcement officials to keep Americans off their own land.

Home Depot Inc. (HD), the world’s largest home improvement retailer, plans to end medical coverage for about 20,000 part-time employees and direct them to government-sponsored exchanges scheduled to open next month as companies revamp benefits to fit the U.S. Affordable Care Act.

Employees with fewer than 30 hours a week will no longer be offered limited liability medical coverage, Stephen Holmes, a spokesman, said today by telephone. About 5 percent of Atlanta-based Home Depot’s 340,000 employees are enrolled in that plan.

New Acting IRS chief says IRS was still going after Tea Party .........

Republicans investigating the IRS targeting scandal said Wednesday that the agency continued to conduct secret surveillance on tea party groups even after approving them for tax-exempt status. Acting Commissioner Danny Werfel said he shut down the monitoring program after he found out about it, and said he has halted all audits of tax-exempt organizations based on political activity as he tries to get a handle on the embattled agency. 

That means it was STILL GOING ON UNTIL AT LEAST 4 MONTHS AGO!!!!

Alternative Universe...Raising the debt ceiling doesn't increase the nation's debt

"Now, this debt ceiling -- I just want to remind people in case you haven't been keeping up -- raising the debt ceiling, which has been done over a hundred times, does not increase our debt; it does not somehow promote profligacy.  All it does is it says you got to pay the bills that you've already racked up, Congress.  It's a basic function of making sure that the full faith and credit of the United States is preserved."

Obama went on to suggest that "the average person" mistakenly thinks that raising the debt ceiling means the U.S. is racking up more debt:

"It's always a tough vote because the average person thinks raising the debt ceiling must mean that we're running up our debt, so people don't like to vote on it, and, typically, there's some gamesmanship in terms of making the President's party shoulder the burden of raising the -- taking the vote.

What our dear leader means is, "Heck, we already racked up the debt. We have already spent the money. This is just the bill coming due." And if you look at it like a 5th grader, maybe you could come to that conclusion. The real world example is that raising the debt ceiling is raising your credit limit on your credit card, and then using that extra limit to pay for more stuff. The Prez is saying "we already bought the stuff, and it is stuff we really need, and contracted for", because we knew that our credit limit was going up. In other words, the debt was there already, now we are just reporting it. 

But it is in fact raising our debt because it allows the government to spend on "stuff" without worrying about paying for it. They will just borrow more. It allows the government to buy stuff without determining if we really need it.

It allows the government to spend on silly stuff like.....

It cost you 300 grand to figure out the first bird on planet earth had black feathers or the Office of Naval Research was able to spend 450 grand to determine that robots cannot maintain a baby's attention or the U.S. Air Force spent more than $680,000 on a study confirming that men look stronger and manlier when they are carrying a firearm or a $500,000 bill for a video game that stimulates a high school prom. 

That is just "stuff" we need.

Obama is screwing the military in their pockets.

What Obama's actions really mean...

President Obama has told Congress he will cap next year's pay raise for U.S. military personnel at 1 percent instead of boosting pay by 1.8 percent as called for by a federal law.

The federal law says military pay raises must be based on the Employment Cost Index compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which ties military raises to private sector pay growth. Under that formula, military personnel should be getting a 1.8 percent pay raise beginning in January 2014.

A 1% raise would actually equal a .8% decrease in purchasing power, aka A PAY CUT 

BUT, HE BSed Congress .............
Obama wrote to congressional leaders: "I am strongly committed to supporting our uniformed service members, (But I will cut their pay and make life miserable for them)who have made such great contributions to our nation over the past decade of war. As our country continues to recover from serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare, however, we must maintain efforts to keep our nation on a sustainable fiscal course."(But I will still support giving millions away to the enemies of the US) He also asserted that his decision "will not materially affect the federal government's ability to attract and retain well-qualified members" of the military.(True, they are already leaving)

Black pastor asks for white greeters only to get the ‘best of the best'

In an odd twist of events, a pastor is now facing a fierce backlash after she made a controversial request that “only white people” be allowed to serve as greeters at the Freedom House Church in North Carolina, according to WBTV in Charlotte, which reported the story on Monday.
Having a request for whites only in 2013 is strange enough on its own, but what might make this situation somewhat uncommon to some people is the fact that this pastor, Makeda Pennycooke, is an African-American, not the proverbial, conservative, Southern white bigot that so many would automatically expect.(Well as so many "Progressive, tolerant" liberals would expect. Clinton said Obama should be fetching coffee )

In an email that was sent to volunteers who act as greeters for the chruch’s 9 a.m. Sunday service, Pennycooke said that “first impressions matter,” and the church wants “the best of the best on the front doors.” Pennycooke also said: “We anticipate having an increase in the number of people visiting and attending Freedom House over the next few weeks.” “We are continuing to work to bring our racial demographic pendulum back to mid-line, so we would like to ask that only white people be on the front doors.”

Obama said the “red line” he set against a year ago against Syria’s use of chemical weapons isn’t his, but an international standard.

Longshoremen say Goodbye to Obamacare and illegal immigration.

40,000 members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) announced that they have formally ended their association with the AFL-CIO, one of the nation’s largest private sector unions. The Longshoremen citied Obamacare and immigration reform as two important causes of their disaffiliation.
How can a union organization, the AMERICAN Federation of Labor, actually support the inclusion of labor, when there is already a surplus of labor in the country? We have record low workplace participation, and yet Trumpka and his Democrat cronies want to increase the number of people looking for work.

A very dangerous loophole closed by the President....(Heavy Sarcasm)

Current law places special restrictions on many of the most dangerous weapons, such as machine guns and short-barreled shotguns.  These weapons must be registered, and in order to lawfully possess them, a prospective buyer must undergo a fingerprint-based background check.
·         However, felons, domestic abusers, and others prohibited from having guns can easily evade the required background check and gain access to machine guns or other particularly dangerous weapons by registering the weapon to a trust or corporation.  At present, when the weapon is registered to a trust or corporation, no background check is run.  ATF reports that last year alone, it received more than 39,000 requests for transfers of these restricted firearms to trusts or corporations.
·         Today, ATF is issuing a new proposed regulation to close this loophole.  The proposed rule requires individuals associated with trusts or corporations that acquire these types of weapons to undergo background checks, just as these individuals would if the weapons were registered to them individually.  By closing this loophole, the regulation will ensure that machine guns and other particularly dangerous weapons do not end up in the wrong hands.

I know a HUGE AMOUNT of GUN VIOLENCE is committed with Corporate Machine Guns.(more heavy sarcasm)Since 1988, there have been 2 crimes committed by legally owned machine guns. None since 1992, so this is a very significant law. It might have an impact on one whole crime every other decade. Like people have said, Gun control, has nothing to do with guns. It is all about control.
What this law does is cost money. It will cost lots of money to do background checks on all stockholders in a corporation. It will cost lots of money to assure that only those with background checks will have access to the firearm. And why? To stop, maybe, 1 crime a decade?

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.
But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed.
