XUE means “snow” in Mandarin. It is also my name & my daughter's middle name.
A collection of art, craft, jewelry, patchwork, sewing, quilting, all inspired by daily exposure to Western & Asian cultures since ours is a mixed Chinese & European family. Read about our life amidst craft in this latest land we are living in, after 20 years of moving around the world. I write about making pretty things we love & about my crafty kids - whom we love. And my husband too, since he designed my website! He started it & my Etsy shop because getting started & all this technical stuff drove me nuts!

Cycling on a Sunday
On a little street in Tokyo, in our neighbourhood....
Some trees were soooo old, they had to be propped up!
Sadly, the strong winds we've had in the past days, meant that the trees were not as pink & fluffy! There were many petals on the ground instead.
An artist for more than 20 yrs. Self taught, experienced in advertising, graphic designing, illustrating, planning theme parties, mosaic art & jewelry making, sewing & quilting.
Spent past over 20 years living in Shanghai, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo & now, Dubai.
All that moving & re-locating can be a little unsettling but with each move, came more inspiration (& more ways on how to unpack fast!). You also learn quickly, to ask for the washroom in various languages!
Our inspiration & interests come from the experience of living in & traveling to many places. We are motivated by the daily exposure to Western & Asian cultures since ours is a mixed Chinese & European family. As this is the way we live, this influences the way we create.
Xue Originals consists of art, jewelry & sewn items - all handcrafted individually & handmade carefully by my 2 children & I. We hope to upload regularly, so please check in often.
