Reflections.

Sometimes, life just passes too fast. Whereas, at times, we are hoping for it to pass faster.

Sometimes, decisions are made, not because they should, but circumstances forces those decisions to be made.

Sometimes, the things in life you do ain't necessary be the things you look forward to.

Yet, people in their own mundane lives, drag themselves along the flow of survival. Aims, targets, goals, dreams: Are they just pure illusions?

What is the factor that drives your life?

Family? Friends? Dreams? Money?

Life has changed a lot since many years ago. My mum used to tell me, that one plate of 'cha kuay teow' costs only 50cents, and now 40 years later, it has gone up to around $2 a plate. It is this 'improve' in living standards that is actually deteoriating our minds. Now I see primary school kids holding mobile phones that probably was unimaginable in the past.

As we grow up, we see many changes around us. Unknowingly, we seemed to forget a lot as we grow up. But some memories just stay. I am sure you will agree with me that you will never forget those fun times when you were young, and didn't have to bother yourself much with anything in life.

Now, it's different. Walking to this stage, where we have passed 1/4 of our lives, its time to start leading the young ones to where we stand. You start getting yourself involved in family matters, you start listening to sorrows poured out by others late in the night, you start to think about what you are going to do, you start thinking about who you really are.

Soon, 20 years later, we will be at this milestone again, ready to engrave our past achievements, and to decide how to road will carry on from there. By then, we will be thinking about family and retirement. And 20 years later, the same thing will happen. This cycle repeats, till we disappear from the world.

Before we wander off to the future, its time to resolve present issues. Whatever decisions we make, there is no looking back. Since we are still full of energy and drive, we shouldn't waste those resources.

We tend to compare to much with people, especially only the bad aspects. Why not, next time when this situation arises, we start thinking of what we have over what others don't? If you have a choice, would you rather make yourself happy, or sad? People always like to 'hiam' about them not getting what they want all the time. Its just like buying 4D or lottery. When you buy that number, it never seems to appear in the results, but when you don't, that number will pop up.

This shouldn't be the basis of comparison. In life, there isn't much to compare.

What you possess doesn't mean others possess it too.

What you don't have might not be what you necessarily need.

What you have over others, is your bonus.

Be grateful rather than 'grumb-ful'.

Appreciate what you have.

Life is more fair than you think.
