Fishbone cactus boasts many colorful names. Ric Rac, Zigzag and Fishbone orchid cactus a few variations on the name of this graceful plant. I just love the shape of the leaves.

I saw the plant for the first time, years ago in London.

The entire windows at the back of the Terence Conran shop were full of these graphically shaped plants.

It was before I was a plant enthusiast and I did not know the name of the plant and called Matisse plant.

Nowadays we have two mature Matisse plants and many baby plants.

Another cool thing about the fishbone cactus is that you can easily replant its cuttings!

daybed sofa - paul smith, moroccan style

daybed sofa daybed sofa daybed sofa daybed sofa daybed sofa daybed sofa

Ta-da! our 'new' daybed sofa.

October interior boost! Two unique handwoven moroccan blankets completely changed the look of this corner.

The vintage bamboo daybed is transformed into a striped sofa, by replacing the mishmash of pillows by 3 sturdy pillows.

I sewed three pillow covers and used the fabric of one blanket. The daybed is covered with the another blanket.

It's an utterly different sofa. A sophisticated striped sofa. Paul Smith, moroccan style ;-)

I just love it!

And nothing new was purchased for the change of the daybed corner. Klimt painting and desk lamp on the table, we re-decorated with the things we had. Something I love too.

huge harlequin blanket update

woodwoolstool huge harlequin blanket

The huge harlequin blanket is nearly halfway.

Somewhere in 2017 I started this huge harlequin project. It's quite an ambitious project, but it will be awesome in the end.

Yesterday evening I've been working on the project again and it seems the huge harlequin blanket, most likely will be lying our bed on the attic within a few weeks...

Making all the separate harlequins was easy and actually they are all small projects that can be done within in a few hours.

The big basket with crocheted parts was in a corner in the living room and I had no clue what the 'state of affairs' was.

When I put all the parts down on the floor on New Year's Eve, I found out that I only had to crochet two more harlequins. A huge boost to finish it finally!

Now I'm so glad I have continued the project and it's getting even better than I imagined.

It is motivating and now I can't stop... So no other side projects, I have to finish this first.

I had to share this 'huge harlequin project 2017/2018 update' with you, because I'm pretty proud of it.

new stuff on the sofa

new stuff on the sofa

New stuff on the sofa.

A couple of pillows I made recently, two harlequin and a brand-new herringbone design.

Some will soon be for sale in my Etsy shop.

Because of satisfactory enthusiasm, I had to post this colorful pillows-on-the-sofa picture...

oficina de mi casa

oficina de mi casa oficina de mi casa

Office update.

A few new items in my workplace.
The steel vintage hospital table serves as my desk and I have turned it sideways so I can look into the living room.
The banana plant on my desk is slowly becoming a banana tree.
The blue A we bought last Friday in Amsterdam (see previous post)
...and the new harlequin herringbone rug fits in nicely anywhere.
I put it on the floor for the occasion, but we use it as a blanket on the sofa, now it's becoming colder.

summer sofa

summer sofa

The white summer sofa is for sale.

Last weekend we found a vintage bamboo daybed and we don't have place for another sofa in the livingroom.

So the white sofa has to go, with pain in my heart i've to admit...

It's an Ikea Nikkala sofa (not available anymore) with a natural white cotton sofa cover by Bemz.

casa emocional

casa emocionalcasa emocionalcasa emocionalgood morning

As I'm reading my favorite Spanish interior magazine AD - architectural digest - I come across a term that really appeals to me;

casa emocional
Cerámica, geometrías, arte de amigos, mantas de ganchillo y mucho humor.
Esa es mi casa!

Ceramics, geometries, art of friends, crocheted blankets and lot's of humor are the signs of an emotional home.

The house we live in, belongs to this category.

lasting love

lasting love by wood & wool stool
lasting love, a photo by wood & wool stool on Flickr.

Since the super sofa arrived,
I get happy everytime I enter the livingroom.
It fits in our house perfectly and is everyone's new favorite spot at home.
Saturday the pillow covers that I had ordered at Stof Enzo arrived.
Hydi made two almost equal pillow covers in her lovely African fabric.
(the other one has a different print on the back)
The prints match so surprisingly well with the sofa.

This morning when I came back from running,
I kicked off my shoes and stretched out to relax on the sofa for a while...
oh yeah, this is 'lasting love'
