french finds
This morning we visited our friend Lammie in her surprisingly nice and special Saturday shop.
The shop was packed with new finds from France.
We had coffee in front of the shop on the small french terrace at the harbour and had a chat with fellow customer Carmen from Almada (Lisbon), needles to say it was all about 'a vida portuguesa'...
After coffee we went back inside for a closer look at the motley french collection and did some serious shopping.
we spoiled ourselves with white harlequin plates, more yellow and black plates, a blue vase of opal glass, a grape vase, a tea towel with fish print and a gift for a friend. In short, we bought a lot, however we hadn't stopped by for a long time.
If you'll ever visit Dordrecht, you should really drop by.

weekend in dordrecht
August in Augustus.
The annual weekend break 'at work'.
Sunday afternoon we checked in at the water tower hotel.
We walked to the historical city center to visit the exhibition of Lammie's best pieces at galerie by Branderhorst. A display with house, garden and kitchen stuff, but then extraordinary... A must for those who have the opportunity to visit this 'concept store' in the coming weeks.
We found a cigale wall vase and now have a collection of four.
At night we had dinner in the restaurant at Villa Augustus and after 12 years it's still a treat to spend the night in a room with a view.
Although it may not seem entirely objective, I swear Villa Augustus is the nicest and most delightful hotel in the Netherlands.

petit pelargonium
A pelargonium cutting grown by my friend Lammie. How alluring is this color?!
Does anyone happen to know the name of this old-fashioned pelargonium?
For now the cutting is still hanging in my atelier, but as soon as the weather gets better, it can be moved to the garden.
Spring weather has not genuinely started yet overhere, after the beautiful Easter weekend the sun was gone abruptly...

quay in spring style
Green and yellow bowls and jugs brighten up the quay!
Lammie made a fresh spring style shop window at the Knolhaven. She is a genius!
As I cycled along the harbour, the bright plastic stuff smiled at me from afar.

Yesterday we visited Lammie and walked around her flower garden.
So many beautiful natural corners, colors and surprising details.
Lammie's shop, home and garden are always a source of inspiration!
