let's stay inside

december 2018 december 2018 december 2018 december 2018 december 2018 december 2018 december 2018

In my atelier, the very first woodwoolstool, I've made in 2007 standing next to a steel vintage stool. They are both blue and dressed. The vintage bed end coverlets serve as curtains. An embroidered postcard from Marrakech in a handmade scrapwood photo frame and the disco ball popped up between the Christmas decorations. A glance in the bamboo sunburst mirror.

In the living room the Hare Family and paper Christmas stars are lined up. And although it's freezing outside, the bougainvillea in the kitchen window sill is in bloom for the umpteenth time...

tulips join the book table

vintage tulip chairs vintage tulip chairs

Vintage tulip arm chairs by ? at the book table.

The iron table was my former worktable & home desk, now serving as a book table for quite a while and it’s chock full with our favorite books and (interior) magazines.

Joining the iron table is the best spot for the newest vintage design furniture.
I think we will take the tulip chairs outside, by the time the garden doors can be opened again. There even is a small water drain hole in the seats, so it's suitable as outdoor furniture as well.

I really like the new peek into living room, from every corner and paired with just the right amount of houseplants, books and the oak herringbone floor. I'm in love with this place...

gold up to the ceiling

new tiles new tiles new tiles new tiles new tiles new tiles new tiles new tiles

Gold up to the ceiling.

Handmade moroccan tiles, in spicy tones of gold and bamboo brown, cover the kitchen walls.

The painted pink wall showed stains everywhere. Not surprising, of course, in a kitchen where you work and cook daily.
The 'moroccan pink' wall was repainted several times, but eventually we opted for a practical tile wall, up to the ceiling.

The aim was to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.

I would choose the moroccan pink color again and I will miss it, but after a few years it's time for something else.

What color? not too safe and boring and no green because that's too trendy.
Choosing a color is not that easy, however we quickly agreed; g o l d
Not the shiny gold, but a natural golden brown, mustard, ocher, spicy and different one...
(This color is also my favorite for wool projects, because it combines with everything although is quite a peculiar color.)

So it was a mess in the kitchen for three days, but the tile craftsman did an awesome job and it has become a beautiful wall!

I'm very happy with the result. Especially when the sunlight peeked inside yesterday.
The light, reflection, texture and the shadows of the plants; awesome atmosphere!

Today I am going to clean and redecorate the kitchen.

On my search to summer clothes on the attic, I found my handmade crochet halter top again. Made this one in 2006 and haven't been wearing it eversince.

Now all of a sudden this crochet bikini top is so 2016!

summer dress

summer dress summer dress

Slowly started packing my suitcase for the cool crochet workshop.
Mostly pattern-paperwork and plenty crochet needles in all sizes.
I also brought out my summer wardrobe, because in 2 weeks(!) I'm traveling to Marrakech.
Recently found a cool cotton summer dress at Zara. Perfect for the occasion :-)

Back home from Menorca, enjoying summertime at home. Pippa bought a huge swimmingpool for the backyard, while we were away. It's good to be back...
Soon new updates about our Menorca trip and i hope you don't mind the #menorcaspam on Instagram (it was a promise to my sweethearts at home ;)

The first 2015 harlequin pillow, now in the s h o p.

Fortuitously with a tip of contrasting brown-red marsala, Pantone color of the year.

Marsala is a wonderful rich color, it reminds me of Marrakech.

perk up

j'adorej'adorej'adore

Perk up this rainy Monday!

Self-sown and self-picked garden flowers. What about that gorgeous green vintage chair and bamboo mirror from southern France? J'adore!

If it's not summer outside, so be it inside!
