Question #1. How often do you hold family home evening? once a week, once a month, occasionally or rarely.
That was easy! We do really well with family home evening and do something every week. Lately it has been a trip to the lake every Monday night, but we try to have some kind of lesson on Sunday night occasionally so we still get a lesson in.
Question #2. How often do you read scriptures as a family? daily, once a week or more, occasionally or rarely.
O.K. we're not quite as good at this one. We don't read daily, but we do read at least once a week. We could use a little improvement, but still not to bad.
Question #3. How often do you personally read the scriptures? daily, 3 times a week or more, occasionally or rarely.
This one I didn't do so good at. My first thought was "How come they don't have once a week, I probably read once a week." I think I was feeling guilty that I had to mark occasionally or rarely. There are times in my life when I do pretty good at this and read daily or at least 3 times a week, but this summer I have been terrible. Why is it that it takes weeks of trying hard to develop a routine or habit, but if you miss a couple of days the habit is gone, and you have to really work at it again? If they would have asked, How many times do you go to the lake in a week? I could have said 2-3 times. Or how often do you read blogs? 3 times a week or more could have been my answer. That's probably why I feel so guilty. I make sure to do things that are fun, but things that will help my eternal salvation get put on the back burner. So now I have recommitted myself to personally read the scriptures every day. I thought if I wrote down my new goal I would be more likely to achieve it. Besides I will look at it at least a few times a week by posting it on my blog. Maybe that will help me. I would like to issue the same challenge to anyone reading this who may have answered the question like I did. If you would like to do better, decide today and let's read everyday.

Maybe I'm terrible, but I'm glad I'm not the only one who was feeling a little guilty about my answers. My thoughts are mirrored so well in yours. I don't know why I go thru these cycles. It drives me nuts. Sometimes I'll be going along doing so well and reading all the time, and it comes so easily, and I think "I don't know why I ever thought this was a challenge. It's such a blessing, and I'll never quit." The next thing I know, I haven't read for a week, and then it takes weeks or months to get going again. I guess it's just part of being human. Boy, that sounds like such a cop out...
Scriptures????? What are they? Just kidding. I think that we all need reminders to read. It is such a boost to my day when I take the time to read. Thanks for the reminder!!
In answer to your question I am going back to school to get my Masters of Social Work. I am excited and nervous. It has been a long time since I have had to study!
Whew! I am kinda glad that I was out of town... I am afraid my answers wouldn't be so great. We sure try though. It's good though, that they are giving us a gentle nudge to remind us what we should be doing.
ya I was pretty ashamed of my answer's so let's do it. Your right I sure read my blog's alot. I could read my scripture's and the kids like to do it with me when I do it which is not that much
Hi!
I don't know if you remember me or not, but it's Melody from Ricks. I was room mates with Rachel, Kristi, Lisa Joy, Terri, & Larriann! I found your blog by visiting Anne Barlow's blog. So fun to be in touch again. I have a blog too, http://daissondailydoings.blogspot.com/
Stop by sometime!
I didn't even get the servay. You are doing better than me any way. With our remodeling, we can't even get out of lowe's untill 10 pm. We are having a hard time getting a bath, but we should go to the lake again, before summer is over, I really want to try boarding.
We've all have our tough times. And we all wonder why? And how come it's not better yet? It always makes me take a step back and think of what I'm doing and what I'm not doing. And I think a lot of our trials could be better handled if we were living as we should. So everything that you just wrote about is pretty much everything that gets put on hold when it gets troublesome. How backwards is that? I'll take your challenge. It's something that by doing, it can't hurt you.
