Sweet Stampin' - flowers

Happy Saturday :o)

This week's theme over at Sweet Stampin' is 'flowers', and as I'd had this image on my desk waiting to be coloured for a few weeks, it seemed like a good time to use it.

The image is Tails Together Mice from Di's Digis, coloured with copics.  The papers are old (retired) ones from LOTV, the flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts, heart pins are from The Hobby House.  The tag stamp is from an old set of unknown make, and the pearls are from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes
Double D Challenges - May flowers
Simon Says Wednesday - animal magic

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely weekend... looks like nice weather for the bank holiday for a change :o)

Everybody Art GDT - flowers

Hello again :o)

I'm back with my 2nd post for today, this one is my Guest DT card for Everybody Art where our challenge is 'flowers'.... easy peasy!

I've used an adorable little mouse from Di's Digi Stamps HERE, coloured with copics (still trying to master fur!), plus a touch of Nuvo clear sparkle pen on the butterfly.  The papers are old (retired) ones from LOTV, the flowers are my favourite MFT die, with sparkly enamel dot centres.  The sentiment is a clear stamp available from Digi Stamp Boutique HERE.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Di's Digi Challenge - include an animal
Simon Says Wednesday - sparkle & shine
Cutie Pie Challenge - delightful digis
As You Like It - favourite colouring medium & why
I like to experiment with pencils, and occasionally try watercolour (Inktense/ Distress Ink) too, but Copics are my comfort zone... I'm quicker and more consistent with Copics than with other mediums.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Everybody Art GDT - anything goes

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my Guest DT card for Everybody Art Challenge, where our theme is 'anything goes'.  I made a card for my mum for Mother's Day, using a cute image from Di's Digi Stamps.

I nearly always use something featuring daffodils, as when I was growing up Mum would say not to spend much, she was happy with a bunch of daffodils... so now I get daffs for the boys to give her, and get her something else from me.  I coloured the image with copics... I ran out of blender refill so the background isn't quite right, and then as soon as I put an order in for refills another pen ran out... grrr!  The papers are old ones from LOTV (now retired), frame die is a Grand Nestabilities, the heart wreath is Avery Elle and the flower/ leaves are MFT die-namics.  Sentiment stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique HERE, and buttons and twine from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday - girl power (something feminine)
Cutie Pie Challenge - spring cuties
Crafty Friends - for a special lady
As You Like It - single or multiple layers (I like layers of paper, one layer cards never feel completely finished to me, at least not when I make them!)

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Westie Walkies

Hello everyone :o)

Here's a card I made for an order, using a super cute image from Di's Digi Stamps, called Westie Walkies.

I coloured it with copics, and thought I'd made a huge mess of the white fur, until I added some strokes of white uni Posca pen, and then I was quite happy with it.  I added dots of white pen on the wellies too, because wellies should be spotty don't you think?  The papers are old ones from LOTV, ribbon is from Fantastic Ribbons, the flowers are an MFT die with Doodlebug enamel dot centres, the stitched circle die is from a Creative Dies set from Craft Stash.  The sentiment is from a new clear stamp set from Digi Stamp Boutique available HERE.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Dragonfly Journeys - year of the dog
Crafty Catz - anything goes + optional birthdays
Cute Card Thursday - cute critters

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Sweet Stampin' - girly

Happy Saturday :o)

Our new challenge theme at Sweet Stampin' this week is 'girly'...

I've been working on my first Prisma pencil colouring class with Kit & Clowder, so I thought I'd make my first 'proper' pencil coloured image into a card for my mum.  Mostly because I couldn't face parting with an image that I spent over a week colouring, unless it was for a 'special' card!  Really enjoying pencils, but it takes me ages to colour with them.

The adorable image is from Di's Digi's HERE, the papers are old LOTV ones (now retired), I think the flower and leafy die are both Memory Box, 'mum' is possibly Clearly Besotted and the Happy Birthday sentiment is a clear stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique, but I can't actually find this one to link up at the moment... will hopefully add that later.  Sparkly gems and pearl from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Dream Valley - use 3 patterned papers
Dragonfly Dreams - flowers
Pile It On - 3D embellishments

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Pink & purple cat

Today's card is one that my mum (and her hubby) asked me for - it's for my step-sister's birthday, and I know she's already got it so it's safe to blog it now :o)  Mum wanted me to use a cat image, and lots of pink and purple, and she prefers bigger cards so it's 8" square.  I'm really not happy with this one... one of those cards that just wouldn't come together!  Love this cute cat though, I haven't used her for a while.

Items Used
Digi stamp - Scruffy Kitty Kaboodle - Di's Digis
Colouring - promarkers & flexmarkers
Papers - Prima Firefly - MCH (they're beautiful, I've just used them really badly!)
Sentiment - Crafty Impressions Baubles set - Funky Kits
Flowers - Magnolia Doohickey dies
Pearls - MeiFlower Pink Mix and Coffee Mix - MCH
Whiff of Joy Heart Banner die - MCH
Memory Box Whimsical Flourish die (cut up) - MCH
Spotty ribbon from my stash

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
The Corrosive Challenge - animal companions
Allsorts - purple passion
Totally Stampalicious - birthday card for a girl
Di's Digi Designs - use more than 1 die cut or punch

Right, I won't stay and ramble on too much, I want to do a bit of commenting while I've got half an hr spare... Hope you all have a lovely evening :o)

Crafty Cardmakers spotlight - fancy folds

It's time for a new spotlight challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and this fortnight our spotlight is on 'fancy folds'... mine's not especially fancy, but I kept changing my mind what fold I should do, and eventually just had to get on and make one, so this is what I ended up with!  It's quite simple to make - just make two 5" square (or whatever size you want) cards and stick them together, so the middle section has 2 layers.  The full length pic isn't very good, so I've added a close up below too.

The super cute little penguin image is from Di's Digi Downloads, available here.  I've coloured him with promarkers and used koh-i-noor pencils blended with sansador for the sky.  I added loads of glamour dust and also used glossy accents on the baubles to make them shine, but that doesn't show up very well in the pic.  The papers are Dovecraft, with bazzill cardstock, ribbon from my stash.  The snowflakes were cut with a cuttlebug die and then smothered in glamour dust and finished off with some card candy centres.

Vintage bunny?

Bunny Zoe's have a vintage challenge this month, which I would normally avoid, because I'm rubbish at vintage!  But I thought I'd have a go for a change - it's meant to be a challenge isn't it?  This is about as vintage as I'm likely to get....

I've used a gorgeous little bunny image from Di's Digi Downloads, available here, coloured with promarkers.  The papers are GCD Studio 'ella blue', with coredinations cardstock.  Lace and pearls are from my stash... and that's about it - a fairly simple card but I'm quite pleased with it.  This card is for no particular reason, so I've not added a sentiment yet - it's great now I've moved my colouring stuff downstairs, I've actually got time to craft just because I feel like it sometimes :o)

Crafty Cardmakers - spotlight on punches

Last week's challenge at Crafty Cardmakers was a recipe challenge - use orange or yellow, an animal or fish and stickers or a punch.  This week, our spotlight is on punches and some of the DT have also followed the recipe, although if you want to play the spotlight week, you don't have to follow the recipe if you don't want to.  That probably made no sense - I have my boys asking constant questions, squabbling and pestering for food in the background... oh the joys of the school holidays!

I've used the sweet 'hello! ladybird' image from Di's Digi Downloads, available here, coloured with promarkers.  The papers are Making Memories, with coredinations cardstock.  I've used punches to make my flower and leaves - woodware daisy, x-cut flower and woodware leaf (I think it's actually called 'grass' if I remember right) - I then inked the edges of the flowers and leaves with pink ink.  MS doily lace trim punch used to cut the border.

Pretty kitty

I do love this little cat :o) This one's for an order - for something girly with a cat, so hopefully this will be ok. The image is from Di's Digi Downloads and it's available here. I've coloured it with promarkers, and used nestie circles to cut it out and blossom nesties to mount it. Papers are from the K&Co small wonders girl pad by Brenda Walton - I've got the boy pad too and I love them, they're such lovely colours. Cardstock is coredinations, butterfly cut with the MS monarch butterfly punch, with added pearls. The sentiment is computer generated.

I managed to get an anniversary card made for my hubby, but I'm saving it for a DT in a few days - he liked it anyway :o) Ooooh just realised I haven't blogged about my trauma on Friday lol (which was our anniversary)! I popped out for an hour to take the kids to see my Grandma, and on the way back, on the busy dual carriageway not far away from home, stopped at a traffic light and the car died on me and refused to start again! Aagh! Cars all around me, and I'm stuck there with no idea what to do! Luckily a lovely man in the car behind me and another from a nearby garden, offered to push the car out of the way, then the police turned up and I had a police escort too lol. Being me, I didn't have the RAC details on me and my phone battery was dying too, so I had to get hubby to come and rescue us, and we called the RAC when he got there. When RAC man got there, he pointed out that the car probably would have re-started if I'd taken it out of drive (it's an automatic), which was slightly embarrassing! To be fair though, the police tried to restart it and so did hubby, and they didn't think to put it in park either! He did change a part though that he said caused it to cut out in the first place. I was sort of hoping it'd be something serious so I'd have an excuse to get a new car lol - I've had it for about 9 years and it was already a couple of years old when I got it. RAC man helpfully said that it was in excellent condition inside and should last a good few years yet... grr!

Anyway, I'm off to wade through a few more of my orders. Hope you're all having a lovely Sunday!

A card at last!

Ok, I know I shouldn't complain about the lovely sunny weather we're having, but I'm hopeless in the heat - it's sooooo hot in my craft room and it's sapping my mojo! So I haven't made anything for a few days, and now that I have it's really not my best effort.

This super cute image is from Di's Digi Downloads and is available here, I've coloured it with promarkers as usual. The pretty checked paper is a new download from Bearly Mine that I've printed out onto linen card, cardstock is coredinations. For a change I've lightly edged everything with Tattered Rose distress inks - I don't normally do this unless I absolutely have to for a challenge, but I felt like doing something different. The image is mounted onto a nellie snellen die cut, the craftwork cards sentiment is mounted on a nestie circle and then another nestie I can't remember the name of... blossom 2 maybe? Butterfly cut with a MS punch, pearls and tiny flowers from my stash.

40th birthday card

I've done it again - started a card for Just Cute Bears 'multifold' challenge and missed the deadline, oops! Oh well, I needed to make this one anyway. I got the idea for the fold from Kerry's blog. Apologies for all the photos, but it was a bit tricky getting a decent pic of this one.

I've used a new and fabulous image from Di's Digi Downloads, available here - just when I think the images can't get any better or cuter, Di draws something even more gorgeous! I've coloured the image with promarkers, papers are Papermania with Papermill cardstock. The numbers were a free template from imag-e-nation, printed onto cardstock and then covered with matching paper. Sentiment label cut with a nellie snellen die, letter tiles are Doodlebug, blue fibres from my stash.

Very bright card!

Ooh I had fun with this one! I wanted to try the colour challenge at Creative Inspirations but I haven't had chance until today - the deadline is in a couple of hours I think, so it should be ok. My card has turned out VERY bright, but I like it :o)

I've used a gorgeous image from Di's Digi Downloads available here, and I've coloured it with promarkers with a touch of sakura clear stardust pen. I actually bought this image the week before I found out I'd made it onto Di's DT, but haven't had chance to use it until now. The papers are unknown from the depths of a drawer, with DCWV and papermill cardstock. I've used my new MS monarch butterfly punch and covered the butterfly with glamour dust and added some purple flat back pearls. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and I've coloured it with a promarker and cut a shape with a blossom nestie to mount it on. Jute ribbon from Bunny Zoes.

Age improves with wine

(My second post for today - scroll down for my Karen's Doodles project) I've made this card for my hubby's step-dad, and it's also my first DT card for Di's Digi Downloads. I'm still getting used to my new camera, so excuse the slightly wonky pic - I'm taking much clearer photos but I can't seem to get them straight lol!

Isn't this image great for male cards? I love it :o) It's available here. I've coloured him with promarkers and added 3d gloss to the glass, wine bottle, nose and the pads of his feet - it doesn't really show up in the photo but it looks quite good in 'real life'. The papers are Cosmo Cricket, cardstock is coredinations. I've used the MS zig zag border punch, added some Papermania buttons and a fab sentiment that I think was a freebie from Create With TLC.

Crafty Cardmakers 20 & fab news!

Time for a new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and this fortnight we'd like to see your distressed creations. I'm a bit late putting this on my blog because we've been camera shopping at last, yippee! I finally have a lovely new camera, so hopefully this will be the last slightly blurry pic on here - I just have to work out how to use the new one now! We were going to go out for the day here but it's one of those silly weather days when it's sunny for a few minutes followed by hail or rain, so we'll have to go another time. So hubby treated me to the camera as we didn't get to go out, and Morgan's happy too because we've said he can have the old one - he loves taking photos.

The cute image is from Digistamp Boutique, coloured with promarkers. The papers are K&Co sparkly sweet with coredinations cardstock. I embossed a piece of coredinations with the 'julie's jewells' embossing folder and then sanded it back, sanded all the edges of the coredinations and distressed all the paper and cardstock edges with my scissors. Then I added stickles to all the edges for a bit of sparkle. Added a piece of jute ribbon from Bunny Zoes, some tiny butterflies (used punched out pieces from MS butterfly border punch) and a computer generated sentiment.

I'm also entering my card for the following challenges:

And now onto my fabby news... Last week I was feeling a bit sad that my DT term with Prairie Fairy had come to an end, then at the weekend I found out that the lovely Diane had chosen me for her new DT, so soon you'll be seeing some creations here using her gorgeous images that you can see here. There were so many talented people applying for the DT I didn't think I stood a chance, so I was very surprised and excited to see my name :o) Right, off to try and figure out the new camera!
