let it snow layout…

I am no longer on the design team for Echo Park paper, but I am still a huge fan so you’ll continue to see projects featuring their awesome products.  In the meantime, I have lots of design team projects I haven’t shared here yet…so I’ll be sharing them sporadically here on my blog.  Up today, a fun winter line called Keepin’ Cozy!

Echo Park - Keepin Cozy Collection - 12 x 12 Collection Kit

I sure love this fun line – love the red, white, and blue for winter photos!wendysueanderson_keepincozy_layout2

Here’s an up close & personal look at some of the details:

And the journaling…wendysueanderson_keepincozy_layout_detail1

Yeah, I’m kind of a party pooper…I’ll stay home where it’s warm and cozy while the rest of the family goes out in the cold and snow and ice.  In fact, I dislike it so much that I’d actually prefer to stay home and scrub toilets than go tubing again…it just is not for me!  Now snowmobiling on the other hand – that’s one winter sport I’m up for…as long as I’m on a nice groomed trail, lol. ;)

Oh, I almost forgot to mention that the Echo Park folks asked me to create a sketch for my layout – this is the hand-drawn sketch I submitted before they made it all pretty to share on their blog (here)!

hello new bike…

Last week the Lily Bee design team was asked to use some fun “Page Maps” sketches.  I loved the sketch I was assigned, and created this layout based on my sketch.

I used products from the “Pinwheel” collection – one of my favorites – and you can purchase the entire collection HERE!

Here are a few of the details from my layout:

And it just wouldn’t be complete without a few sweet little additions with one of my favorite tools – the tiny attacher!

one lucky mom…

{Earlier this week I was working away on a layout to share on the Lily Bee blog.  I had been perusing facebook earlier in the day and noticed a post by a friend, saying that she would be delivering her 6th baby sometime that day.  I was excited for her.  I worked away and completed my layout, wrote up a blog post to share on the lily bee blog, and started preparing dinner.  It was then that I thought again about Katrina, and came back down to my computer to peek in and see if she had shared photos of her new baby yet.  Imagine my shock and horror when I found her facebook page and started reading notes of condolences from her family and friends.  My first thought was that the baby hadn’t made it.  Heart-breaking.  It took me several minutes to grasp the fact that the baby was fine…but Katrina, my friend, had passed away shortly after the baby was delivered.  My heart broke in two.  Such a sad, sad, sad thing to happen.  I can’t even begin to imagine what this would be like for her husband and her six children.  And following along on her facebook page, I can see that she had more friends than anyone I know…seriously, she was that way – no matter how many friends she had, she made each of them feel loved and important.  If nothing else, it’s a huge reminder of what’s important (and what’s not)…living your life in a way that so many people would be impacted when you are gone, full of love and friendship and happiness, those are the most important things.  And, just like Katrina, I feel so blessed to have my sweet little family and I am grateful to have the opportunity to be a mom to my children.  It breaks my heart that she won’t have the opportunity to finish raising her children here on earth, but I am so grateful to be reminded again of the plan of salvation – knowing that our families can be forever, not just in this life, but truly for eternity…I can’t imagine not believing we’ll see our loved ones again…}

I am glad that I had spent that day reflecting on how much I love being a mother, and creating a scrapbook layout based on this idea.  Here’s a look at the layout I completed earlier this week:

good stuff…

Good Monday morning!  I just wanted to pop in really quickly to share a card with you today!  I shared this card, along with a sketch challenge, on the Echo Park blog last month and I just realized I hadn’t shared it here yet!  So…here it is:

I used my new favorite Echo Park Collection to create this card:  Scoot!

You can see the sketch HERE on the Echo Park Blog.

The journaling cards and stickers make it easy to create fun little cards like this!

In addition to the SCOOT collection, I used one of my favorite little tools, the tiny attacher:

And it seems like I still can’t create anything without adding some baker’s twine somewhere – I just love the little pop of color and bit of texture it adds.  This time I used orange divine twine:

If you decide to use this sketch for a card, I would LOVE to see it – please share a link in the comments!

Happy Monday! :)

doodlebug doodles sketch card…

DB Doodles Logo

I love using sketches to start my projects, so I was happy to use this fun sketch as a starting point to create this baby boy congrats card. I used products from the snips & snails line along with some of the smaller stamps to embellish the stickers.
