Introducing Want2Scrap™ Inchies
Acrylic is one of my favorite products to work with. I love the versatility of it...now Want2Scrap™ has made their own Inchies...of course I started to play as soon as I got my goodies!

I used so many Want2Scrap™ products on this layout. Nestabling™ Petite Scalloped Circle , Inchies, Sage Green Pearls,
Baby Bling - Le Creme Pearls , Baby Bling Rhinestones - Turquoise, Baby Bling Rhinestones - BlueGreen, Dark Green Rhinestones - 72 Count, Rhinestone Ribbon Slides, and a Light Blue 1" Butterfly. I took this photo of my little guy Jack just a week ago and I wanted to scrap it as soon as I printed it. So sweet!

Don't you love these new Inchies! I used rub-ons on them, then added some bling. They are the perfect size for punches or stamps too.

On this one I added this Rhinestone Ribbon Slides...it was an ribbon slide but I cut out the center piece and just kept it as a heart.

The Nestabling™ Petite Scalloped Circle is always perfect around a die cut. Thanks so much for stopping by...be sure to keep an eye our for more Want2Scrap™ Sneak Peeks!

A Wall Hanging for Me!

Hey all! It's Melissa again to show you another project using an acrylic heart from the heart album to make a pretty wall hanging. :) I also have some tips to offer on how to offset the size of a shape very simply with a ruler and pencil!

First off...I've been wanting to make a little something special for me to hang in my craft room. My room is a complete organized MESS, lol! So I've been wanting to use the phrase, "creative people are seldom tidy".....so true in my case!

I used one of the chipboard hearts in the center of my project and decorated it up with some patterned paper, glitter, and some trendy rolled flowers. :)

So here are some tips on how to create your offset heart shape by using your acrylic heart as a template....
First, you'll start by drawing the outline of your shape on the BACK of the patterned paper you want your offset shape to be from.

Then, you take your ruler and decide how far you want your shape to be offset by...I chose about 3/8 of an inch.

Now, take your ruler and measure 3/8" to the inside of your shape line and make little tick marks. Just keep doing this all throughout the interior of your shape until you've gotten your desired shape completed.

Then cut along your tick marks, and voila! You have completed your offset shape to show off that acrylic base!

Don't forget to peel off the protective backing so your acrylic shows nice and shiny clear! I hope you enjoyed my tips and project! Until next time....

Waste not, want not

Hi everyone!  Dana here with a tutorial on custom coloring your acrylic pages and shapes.
For this project, I will be using the cutout from this acrylic album sheet.  This cute little flower is just as sweet as the page it was cut from....can't waste this opportunity to make a cute hang tag!  I also have on hand some alcohol inks from Ranger, a crop-o-dile for punching a hole in the finished tag and not pictured is glitter glue and some crystal effects from Stampin Up! (note, I only ended using the pool and wild plum colors on the project)
Your acrylic sheets are covered with a frosted plastic liner on either side to keep them pristine.  I find the easiest way to peel the liner is by using the piercing tool in my craft supply to gently lift the liner and peel it away.
Lay your acrylic piece on a non stick craft surface or several sheets of scratch paper since the alcohol ink will stain anything it touches....good on crafts, not so good on clothes!  :)  Drop several drops of the color you ultimately want on the outer edge in the center of the flower.
Next drop the center color (pool in my example) right on top of the first color in the middle of the shape.  It will magically "push" the plum color towards the outside.
I used a pencil to pull the plum color to the outer edges.  You must let the alcohol ink totally dry.  Once dry, I turned the shape over and outlined the flower with purple glitter glue....again, leave it to dry...RESIST touching the glitter glue!
Once the glitter was dry, I filled the inner flower with crystal effects to the level of the glitter glue.  Again, this is a test in patience....let it DRY completely.
The end result is a custom colored acrylic hang tag that could be attached to a mini album, a gift bag, made into a key chain, or in this case a backpack zipper charm for my purple and blue loving little girl!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Turning One Acrylic Page

Hi everyone! I'm back again and this time I have graduated from an acrylic tag to an acrylic page!! I must admit, I don't scrapbook even though I have all good intentions to....I buy all the stuff and have all the pictures, but just never make the time!! One page at a time, right? Well, I figure this is a good way to pick it up and actually, I'm going to prop it up on a frame holder like a picture. :) Here's what I came up with.

Once I could figure out what paper to use, this actually came together rather quickly! I knew that I was going to use 3 fabulous products that Want2Scrap carries... the acrylic page, bling (pink pearls), and ribbon. And I definitely achieved my goal!

Now, I don't know if it's the cardmaker in me, but I had a hard time leaving the border "undressed." I decided to add my own "decorative edge" with stickles and Liquid Pearls and I'll show you how I did it!

First, I placed my acrylic page on a clean surface that can get messy...I used Ranger's Non-Stick Craft sheet. This way, if I make a mess, I can just wipe it off with a damp cloth....and I am messy!!! :) So here we go with Silver Stickles.

And I just carefully went around the edges, very lightly touching, the border of my page with the applicator tip.

Nice, eh?! Next came the Liquid Pearls in Petal Pink.

What I did here was to squeeze a small amount out and just BARELY touch the liquid pearl medium to the sheet....just let it ease it's way out on it's own practically.

If your press the liquid pearls onto your sheet, you'll just end up smushing it on there and won't get a nice little globular looking pearl. Now, after it has come out, unfortunately, it will have a pointy top at its peak. To prevent this from drying looking like that, tap the UNDERSIDE of your acrylic sheet and it will flatten out that point and really look like a round pearl. So, make about 5-6 dabs and then tap and so on and so forth. Here's a close up where you can see what that looks like.

So what do you think? Think you would try this on your own? Don't forget to give it time to dry!!

I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial and thanks so much for stopping by!

Scalloped Edge Acrylic Sign

I love acrylic...yep, I will say it again. I love acrylic! When I received this fun acrylic sheet I knew I wanted to make some sort of home decor sign, but was not sure what...since we had about 4 feet of snow in the last 2 weeks...it became a winter sign.

To heat emboss acrylic is not tough. You just have to pay attention and be sure that you don't over heat it so it warps. Want2Scrap has thick, quality acrylic so it worked like a charm. I simply used a watermark pad and ran it around the edges. Sprinkled on the embossing powder and heated it. I love the snowy winter look this added to my sign. Here is a close up of the edge.

Here are a few of the products I used on this project...

To dress up my flowers I added Stickles, glitter, micro-beads, spray ink and crushed glass...so much better than just plain flowers, don't you think?

Here is a close up of the flowers...

To simulate snow, I added lots of Want2Scrap pearl bling in 2 sizes as well as tri-dots of Stickles to add a little winter detail.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you were inspired to work with a little acrylic today!

“For You” Acrylic Tag

Hi everyone!! I'm so thrilled to be posting here for the very first time on the Want2Scrap blog! For those of you that don't know me (probably a lot of you, LOL), I'm a hardcore card maker...but when I got my Want2Scrap goodies in the mail, I just couldn't wait to dive in head first and try out something new. So after my initial shock of all the FABULOUS products I received...and there are a LOT, I decided to ease into this new endeavor with one of the acrylic tags I got. So here's what I was able to do with it. :)

Now, taking pictures of clear acrylic proved to be...well, interesting! So I have other shots to share with you.

Did you know that Want2Scrap actually carries more than just acrylic?? Well, from what was sent to me, I used the acrylic tag, some of the ribbon, and chipboard heart. And let me just say...you get a LOT of chipboard hearts in one package...LOVE THAT!

To get my chipboard all gorgeous and glittery, I first applied Ranger's Snow Cap Acrylic paint, and once that dried...which was pretty quickly, I covered it with Crystal Effects and smothered with White Gold glitter from Martha Stewart. I also blinged up the edges of my acrylic by simply applying Silver Stickles.

I think this makes a GREAT tag for wrapped gifts and even hanging from a gift bag. Sooo many uses for these tags..how about on a keychain? The ideas are just swirling people! With that said, I better get scootin' on a larger acrylic project, yes?? :)

Now, let’s see what kind of tags you can come up with!  Can’t wait to see your projects.
