Fancy A Cuppa??

Who is ready to meet ALL their friend for a cuppa and CATCH UP??!!  I am and have been for a LONG time!!

This tag is inspired by my dream of restrictions being lifted!

My tag background is Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Spray.  The images are stamped in Archival Ink and colored with Prisma and Jolly Colored Pencils.

The washi acting as a 'table' is a 10mm designed by Tina Walker.  Fantastic isn't it??

I had a scrap of some paper twine from May Arts that finished off my tag perfectly!

The bright colors of the macarons make me smile and I am hopeful we can grab a cuppa soon!!

Until next time...get inky!

New Normal...HA!

It has almost been a year of on and off lock downs and I for one am STRUGGLING!

I created a card inspired by those feeling, hoping that if I got it out in my art it would help.  We will see!

Stamps used:  Chicken Wire, Say New Normal, Sasquatch

The Chicken Wire stamp was the very first Viva Las VegaStamp I purchased and it have been well loved!  Background is Brusho on watercolor paper with a tiny tag and masking tape layered on top.  Then I spritzed Distress Oxide Spray in Rustic Wilderness... OHHH how I love the splatters!!

Mr. Sasquatch is colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  He is walking on washi designed by Miss DeeDee Catron at Um Wow Studio.

Creating ALWAYS makes me feel better!!!

I hope you are using some of your extra time at home creating too!!

Until next time...get inky!

Tag Tuesday

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

Today I wanted to share this vintage tag I made.

Stamps Used:

I started by using scrapbook paper to create a 3x6 in tag.
(this paper was from one of my Tim Holtz pads)

I stamped the row of numbers along the left side of the tag to add details.  Next, I used a scrap of scrapbook paper popped up on pop-dots.
On top of that, I added my typewriter (also popped up on pop-dots).

Next, I used tumbled glass distress oxide ink , and water to add drips and drops around the edges.  I also used ripped scrapbook paper with flowers to add a pretty vintage feel.
(I did ink around the ripped pieces before gluing them down).

To finish I mounted the tag on matching blue card-stock.  I stamped the postcard atc in 2 colors in the upper right.  I stitched around the tag, and used cracked pistachio distress oxide spray inks to add extra distressed goodness.

To finish, I added some Tim Holtz stickers, and a clip.

It is wine o'clock

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an art journal spread using one of my favourite colour combinations. Lately I have been using lots of blues and greens so it was nice to get back to my pinks and oranges!

I think quite of few of us feel like it is wine o'clock in this weird time we are living in ! lol

Here's how I made it..

First I tore two pages out of my journal, the one the final AJ is in, and cut it slightly smaller so I could glue it back into the book. I do this so the book doesn't get any thicker and fuller. I used a stencil and some modelling paste to get some texture and when this was dry I sprayed the pages with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. The yellow wasn't bright enough form me so I added some Distress Oxide ink in a brighter yellow with a blending tool. (List of materials as well as the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post). After this was all dry I added some white paint over the top with a brayer. Of course it takes on the colour underneath and doesn't show up as white but simply lightens the colours.

Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and ink colours.

I then got carried away and forgot to take more photos but I didn't do an awful lot more to it. I just added the word currently and did some doodling around the edges. Then stamped the lady, coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto the right page. I then stamped the sentiment, changed it and added that to the left page. I doodled around the words, splattered some white ink around and added some shading under the lady.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest of materials:
Modeling paste, I used Grunge Paste by PaperArtsy
Stencil - Bubble by Tim Holtz

Distress Oxide Sprays: Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmelade
Distress Oxide Ink: Mustard Seed

White paint by Amsterdam

Archival Inks: Magenta Hue, Venetian Orange, Watering Can and Jet Black.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

The world is my runway

Hello everyone,

it is my turn again to show you a project with the fabulous VivaLasVegaStamps! stamps. I have made a mini journal page for today.

I had a piece of card stock with brown ink on it lying on my desk and thought I could use it for my project. I added a little gelli printing in the edges in turquoise and then stamped here and there, using Archival inks in Aquamarine, Potting Soil and Jet Black. (Full list of stamps used is at the bottom of this post.)
I stamped the lady on white card stock and decided I liked her uncoloured so I cut her out and adhered her in the corner of my piece of paper. I then chose the sentiment and stamped that too. After cutting it into strips I adhered it to the paper too. Lastly I matted the whole thing on black card stock to make it pop.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Distress Oxide sprays (already on the background)
Archival Inks: Jet Black, Aquamarine and Potting soil
Dina Wakley Media paint : Turquoise

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Save the Vandals

Happy New Year!!!
I am starting off 2020 with a little Banksy.
My first project for this year is a card, I think this is an any occasion one.

Stamps used:  Cross Statue, Banksy Spraypainter Boy, Banksy God Save the Vandals

I started with the background, Distress Oxide Ink blended and splattered with both water and Distress Oxide Spray.  The some stamping with the same Distress Ink colors used in the background.

I stamped the Banksy Spraypainter on the background AND on a white piece of paper.  Of course I colored with Prisma colored pencils that I blended with Gamsol.  Some fussy cutting and adhered the colored part over the image stamped on the background.  I decided to ground the image with a little washi...

I then stamped the sentiment on the background only inking the stamp one time so I would get varying colors.  One on white paper and matted with black cardstock to be popped up to be the focus.

Hope you enjoyed my first post of 2020!!  Looking forward to sharing lots more with you!!

Until next time...get inky!

Happy Turkey Day

Hi ALL!
This month's challenge is HOMECOOKED.  And I took inspiration from the family gathering aspect for the upcoming THANKSGIVING holiday.

Michele here with a bit of inspiration in hopes that you will join our challenge this month.  Visit the Groupies Page on Facebook for more details.

We have a huge gathering for the holidays and Thanksgiving is a popular one!  Our friend Turkey Lurkey is always the guest of honor!  No matter what else everyone wants to eat there is ALWAYS turkey front and center.

Stamps used:  Turkey, Happy Sweetest Day

Distress Oxide Ink and Spray created this grungy background (LOVE).  The Turkey is stamped with Archival Ink and colored with Prisma colored pencils.

Can't you just picture that turkey on a giant platter??!

I created the sentiment buy using a stamp for another holiday and cutting it apart after it was stamped.

HAPPY TURKEY DAY!

Until next time...get inky!

Recipe for Sweets

The holidays are right around the corner, can you believe it??!
Michele here today and I was inspired by all of the holiday sweets that we all love for this set of ATC's.

Stamps used:  Stack of Macaroons, Calories Don't Count, HEHEHE, Have a Nice Day, Delight in the Little Things, Doodle Border, Recipe Card, Victorian Flourish

The ATC bases are a piece of cardstock with Dina Wakley paints on the gelli plate.  The background stamps are the colors of the paint to fade.

The Macaroons are colored with Prisma colored pencils and the filling is stickles.

The macaroon stack was cut up and arranged on the ATC's.

Some washi so the macaroons didn't look like they are floating and a little border stamping.

The edges all have Distress Ink and finally some splatters with Distress Oxide Spray.

What's your favorite holiday treat??  We have Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas all coming up quick...what will you be making??

Until next time, get inky!!

Wander

Say it ain't so...  we are coming to the end  of summer.  While I do love fall I feel like we really didn't get much warm sunshine and I didn't get to do much wandering.

Michele here with a quick tag inspired by my dream of wandering around the world.

I started with a tag (one of the new white tags by Dina Wakley) that I used to mop up some beautiful Dina Wakley paint in a class I just took with her.

Stamps used:  Hitchhiker, Sign Post, Numbers Set, Cross Marks Background, Punchinella/Sequin Waste Border, NY License Plate, Not All Who Wander.

Colored with Prisma Colored Pencils after stamping with archival ink.  A little washi tape to ground the main image and some splattering with Distress Oxide Stain.

A bit of doodling...and a little chevron ribbon to top off the tag.

I guess I will have to do a bit of fall wandering this year!!!

Until next time, get inky!!
