Tag Tuesday

Hello Crafty Friends!!!

Today I wanted to share this vintage tag I made.

Stamps Used:

I started by using scrapbook paper to create a 3x6 in tag.
(this paper was from one of my Tim Holtz pads)

I stamped the row of numbers along the left side of the tag to add details.  Next, I used a scrap of scrapbook paper popped up on pop-dots.
On top of that, I added my typewriter (also popped up on pop-dots).

Next, I used tumbled glass distress oxide ink , and water to add drips and drops around the edges.  I also used ripped scrapbook paper with flowers to add a pretty vintage feel.
(I did ink around the ripped pieces before gluing them down).

To finish I mounted the tag on matching blue card-stock.  I stamped the postcard atc in 2 colors in the upper right.  I stitched around the tag, and used cracked pistachio distress oxide spray inks to add extra distressed goodness.

To finish, I added some Tim Holtz stickers, and a clip.

A Tag and Train

Tag You're It!

Today I want to share some tag love with you!

I just love creating vintage grungy tags!

Stamps Used:

I chose to start with some scrapbook paper I had left over from a project. I created a 3x6 in tag and used various brown distress inks to ink the edges and add a bit of color through a Tim Holtz layering stencil.

Using Archival ink, I then stamped my row of numbers and my scribble circle.

To add visual interest I ripped up some scrap pieces of book pages then glued them down.  To make them pop, yet blend i used brown distress ink to watercolor around the edges.  I wanted this piece to be grungy, so added flicks of vintage photo and antique linen distress stain.

To finish everything I mounted this tag on a piece of dark brown card-stock, and stitched around it.  I stamped my train on a separate piece of paper and inked it to match the tag.  When it was just like I wanted I added some string in the area of the scribble circle and glued the train down on pop-dots.

The stickers and metal tab I used are both by Tim Holtz

I NEED You to Celebrate!!

Hello everyone! Susan here with quick and easy card using Viva Las VegaStamps! with a little bit of humor. Quick doesn't exactly describe my stamping style, so this time I decided to go with fun birthday card using an image that is a bit... OFF.

I made a card using the "Uncle Sam Wants You" #5794 image that is a mess-up. Yes we all have them. This is what happens when the stamp falls off the acrylic block when your Miracle Sheet backer is not quite tacky enough anymore... SAM took a little dive when I went to stamp. I gently peeled the stamp up and remounted, then stamped again right on top.

Do stamped images always have to be perfect??! Absolutely not! I thought this one could be used one day and tossed it into the scrap bin. I really like how it resembles one of those old silk screen posters. To make it look more intentional, I swiped around the edges with Picket Fence Distress Stain.

I stamped my sentiments using the same black dye ink and made the "Celebrate Early..." #9340 stamp look equally messed up by swiping with Picket Fence Distress Stain. My motto – nothing goes to waste and there are no mistakes. After some quick matting with dualing blue cardstocks, I layered the pieces over a Distress Stain Splattered star collage embossed paper and a strip of vellum. The card is finished off with a snarky quip... "Happy Birthday from One Old Buzzard to Another!"

"I Need You to Celebrate!"
