Always remember you are beautiful - by Cheetarah

Hi everyone! It's Cheetarah here and I've got a little mixed media piece I wanted to share with you today.

The really fun Whimsical Jester stamp and You are Beautiful phrase are my focal points. I have used some pigment powders, modeling paste, gelli printed deli papers and home made stencil for this piece. A full list of the stamps and materials used are listed below. I also have recorded the process video for this which you can see here on our Time2Stamp channel:

So what I didn't film was the piece it started on. It was a huge cardboard piece which was mixed with collage elements and left over stamped images which I then toned down with gesso and cut up into smaller pieces to work on. On this piece I also used the papers the VLVS! unmounted rubber comes with, like the Birds on the wire. In the end I didn't use that stamp, but the paper element of it was there. I quite like how this piece turned out :)

Here are some more close up's:

Stamps used:

Others:
Staz-On jet black, midnight blue, vibrant violet, black cherry, royal purple

"Still" an Art Journal Page by Jenn Engle

Hello! Today I have a very simple art journal page using the Whimsical Jester Stamp on acetate. I think this stamp works well with the acetate stamping technique because you are able to see thru all those tiny lines and intricate details to the background.

The Whimsical Jester can also be purchased on an entire plate of rubber (plate 1457), and I think that all of the images on this plate work so well with acetate stamping.

To see exactly how I made this page from start to finish, be sure to check out the process video linked at the end of this post.

You color my world : stamping on acrylic board tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my September tutorial made for VLVS blog.
This time I decided to be totally colorful and to use a lot of alcohol inks over my piece as they look gorgeous over acrylicfragments  and this altered deco is all  done from tons of acrylic fragments.
But first lets see the stamping part of it.
So here we go!
Step by step directions:
1. Take your Whimsical Jester stamp and stamp over the large (4*4'' ) acrylic fragment with black StazOn ink. Also this ink should be permanent over acrylic it takes some time  to dry, so I added a few blows of my heat gun.

2.Now add some butterflies using Butterfly Specimens stamp in the very same way. As you can see we have a perfect space for this butterflies strip.

3. Now for the fun part: add a mix of your favorite alcohol inks on the BACK of your stamped piece.

4. Grab some smaller acrylic fragment and arrange them over the stamped piece using a few drops of Glossy Accents. You glue over the stamped surface and not over the colored one.Let the glaze dry for a few minutes.

5. Pick another acrylic piece and stamp this gorgeous " YOU COLOR MY WORLD" VLVS sentiment over it with white pigmented ink and white powder heat embossing.
Glue the sentiment as shown over the main piece. Add a few pearls over the piece. You stamped art deco is done! Enjoy!

And this is how it looks  on a stand!

Out of the Blue and Proud: altered cube

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new tutorial made with delicious (even if those are a bit odd) VLVS stamps.
As you all know I always have a story to share about the " brainstorming"  of my art piece.
So this time it's not different and here is a story.
I ordered VLVS  new stamps set as I wanted to get some stamps that are totally different from my usual Mixed Media picks.
Then, when those stamps came, I was not sure about them. They are gorgeous, but so much not me.
At that moment I felt that I was " out of the blue" ordering them. But them it was like" let's make lemonade from the lemons": lets make " Out of the Blue" piece with blue shade and some new slogan.
So this is how my own " OUT OF THE BLUE AND PROUD" slogan was born. I think that it can be used in many different ways, just like this " Keep calm and..." one.
It can be "out of the blue and going " or" out of the blue and dreaming" or even " or of the blue and feeling great". But those will be used next time. Today I am totally proud with my " OUT OF THE BLUE" 3d foam cube.
So here is my step by step tutorial:
1. Paint the foam cube into a shade of blue color; pick the color that is not totally blue, but close to it.
I used Earth Safe Finishes Rock Candy Chalk it up paint and made just one single layer that covered the foam perfectly.

2. Cut thick cardstock into 2 3/4'' size that fits the cube . Stamp 5 different focal images and add some backgrounds. You can see the full stamp list on the bottom of my post. I used blue Clearsnap ink and clear embossing powder over each stamped piece.

3. Color the stamped  images with distress markers and ink them over with distress inks. I tried to make them colorful, but to stay mostly in blues (remember the title? ).Add two more stamped images cut outs : those will hold the title panel.

4. Glue all 5 stamped piece over the painted cube. Leave the bottom  as is.

5. Make the title panel using a chipboard. chipboard and sticker letters and 2 stamped cut out images.
I painted the chipboard with inks and clear embossed it . The letters were colored two using different markers and inks. This is how the top panel is looking.

6. Glue the title panel over the cube and your project is done.
This is  one side look of it.

And from other side:

And from the back:
I also painted the back as this 3d project can be seen from all corners.

And from the top:

Now this " OUT OF THE BLUE" cube is on my craft table and I am totally proud of it!
Hope you like it too.
