Quote Artist Trading Cards with Jenn Engle

Hey Everyone! I have a trio of Artist Trading Cards to share today. I was looking thru my stamps and realized there are so many great quote stamps by VLVS that they shine all on their own. So, I decided to showcase a few of my faves on ATCs.

To see exactly how I made them, check out the video at the end of this post.

STAMPS USED:

I started out with 3 cards cut to 2.5" x 3.5" that already had some modeling paste thru a text stencil on the cards. I adhered some Sewing Pattern tissue paper to my cards with Collage Pauge Matte.

Next, I took 3 colors of Fluid Acrylic paint and applied them to my cards. Once that was dry, I did some stamping with Mesh Texture and Numbers Set. Then, I scraped some gesso (white paint works, too) around my cards using a palate knife.

The last step was to add my quote stamps. I stamped them out, cut them apart, then inked all the edges with a black ink pad to help them stand out. I splattered some yellow paint all over and that's it!

STAMPS USED:

Other Products Used:
Watercolor Paper
Modeling Paste
Text Stencil
Sewing Pattern
Collage Pauge in Matte
Golden Fluid Acrylic in: Quinacridone Magenta, Cobalt Turquoise, Indian Yellow Hue, Hansa Yellow Medium
Liquitex Gesso
Staz-On Ink in Black

Thanks for looking,
Jenn

Always remember you are beautiful - by Cheetarah

Hi everyone! It's Cheetarah here and I've got a little mixed media piece I wanted to share with you today.

The really fun Whimsical Jester stamp and You are Beautiful phrase are my focal points. I have used some pigment powders, modeling paste, gelli printed deli papers and home made stencil for this piece. A full list of the stamps and materials used are listed below. I also have recorded the process video for this which you can see here on our Time2Stamp channel:

So what I didn't film was the piece it started on. It was a huge cardboard piece which was mixed with collage elements and left over stamped images which I then toned down with gesso and cut up into smaller pieces to work on. On this piece I also used the papers the VLVS! unmounted rubber comes with, like the Birds on the wire. In the end I didn't use that stamp, but the paper element of it was there. I quite like how this piece turned out :)

Here are some more close up's:

Pan Pastel Feature

Hello stampers!! DeeDee here today to introduce something a little extra fun this week. For the next five days (through Friday) the Viva Las VegaStamps! Design Team will be featuring Pan Pastels in all their stamped goods.

The following was taken from the Pan Pastels website : "PanPastel Colors are professional artists’ quality soft pastel colors packed in a unique pan format (cake-like). The special qualities of PanPastel Colors mean that artists can blend and apply dry color like fluid paint for the first time.

All PanPastel Colors are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in rich, ultra soft and super-blendable colors.

Each color is loaded with the finest quality artists’ pigments for the most concentrated colors possible. The colors have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable. Uniquely, for pastel color, they can be mixed together for a complete painting palette."

So let's get to it shall we? I thought we'd start the week off with a Time2Stamp video showing you how to make this :

So watch this video all about creating this tag, including a fun technique in the beginning to create this pan pastels background:

Time 2 Stamp - Episode #1

Welcome back this morning :)

I shared with you earlier some info about our new show Time 2 Stamp with VLVS! and I'm super excited to bring you the first episode. Every other Monday starting today we'll be sharing videos with you based on VLVS!. We'll be airing tips and tricks, bits n bobs, info, examples, tutorials, DIYs, and anything else you can think of! If you have suggestions, questions or comments be sure to post them here or on our facebook wall so that we can address them each show! We're totally open for suggestion :)

For the debut I've decided to show you how to make your own foil tape. The focal point of the video is on foil tape and creating the faux metal background that is oh so popular since the debut of the September 12 tags of 2012.

so grab the following supplies and get to watching the first episode!
-Tin Foil from the cupboard
-Archival Ink
-Acrylic Paint in black and brown
-Steel Wool
-Cream colored cardstock

To finish the tag I actually DID use the distress ink to distress my fussy cut stamp. I also grabbed "Art is the Last" 18925 and stamped it as the message from my typewriter. I needed Miracle Tape to adhere my goodies down. For additional supplies I used some beautiful May Arts ribbon, TH's film reel , Gears, a vintage pen nib, a butterfly die, some basic grey paper, random eyelets and brads.

Linking up to Anything But A Card and TH's 12 tags.
