Vintage...and I Mean VINTAGE! ATC Swap
Kimberly
at
hosted a
Vintage Paper ATC swap.
You couldn't use faux vintage or vintage inspired papers...
this was the real deal.
What a great challenge and great fun
searching through my
vintage stash.
Background: flocked wallpaper
Image and text: birthday card
Dresden trim
and a public bus ticket
(the fare is 5 cents-doesn't get more vintage than that!)
Background: bingo card
Image and text: needle packet
dictionary definition
section of hook and eye card
Background: wallpaper
Image and text: magazine ads
celluloid flowers
Can't wait to see my vintage returns!

Mademoiselles in Sepia
I have always adored sepia images, so when Terri announced a
French Ladies in Sepia ATC swap in our
Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group
I was in.
Collaged onto beautiful French frame backgrounds I had such fun embellishing
with vintage laces and trims, paper and fabric flowers, ribbons and pearls.....
Can't wait to see my returns!

ATC Fun!
My friend Kimberly has the greatest swap going on and there's many, many weeks left to join in the fun.
She's swapping an atc with a different artist every week for 52 weeks! She posts a picture of her current atc available for trade and if you're the lucky first person to comment, you get to swap!
I swapped with her week 7 for this beyond beautiful Paris atc.
This is the atc I made for her.
Ironically, the day I made and mailed it Kimberly had a foot of snow on the ground. This was probably not her theme of choice but I hope she grows to like it!

A Sweet Bunny & Nest of Eggs = Spring
Celebrating Spring is the theme for Kimberly's current atc swap. I was originally thinking birds and flowers but while scanning my images library, "somebunny" spoke to me.

Totally off topic.... My friend Paul has recently entered the world of blogging. Though not an artsy person per se, he is an eloquent wordsmith and knows more about cinema and celebrities than any person I know.
He has devoted his blog,
Pass the Popcorn Please,
(so far) to insightful and entertaining movie reviews. Please show him some blogger love and stop by to say hello!

A St. Paddy's Day Project
We're making an ATC book in my flickr group to celebrate St. Paddy's Day.
There are 12 of us participating.
I love this image! The green is lightly glittered, edges gold-leaf trimmed and finished with dangling shamrocks.
I used another beautiful vintage image for the back of the page and added an Irish verse.
Our wonderful hostess Kim will be binding these and I'll share our finished collaborative as soon as I receive it!

An ATC Between Friends & A Big Announcement!
When my talented friend Linda, of
Random Creativity, announced she had this beautiful card to swap I didn't hesitate
to make this sweet fairy friend for her!
Thank you Linda for this wonderful swap experience!
If you've never swapped with your blog friends before I encourage you to jump in. It's a perfect way to form new friendships and collect beautiful little pieces of art. And to those who feel a bit intimidated by the process, trust me, bloggers are the most welcoming, non-judgemental people in the world. Which leads me to the big announcement.
My very dear friend Kim, who I've swapped with for many years now in more venues than I can remember has started a new swap blog and announced her very first swap this morning.
Vintage Children Mini Cards
Kim's new blog is
Tabby's Swaps.
I hope you'll visit and I really hope you'll swap.
I'm in!
Are you?

Not All Witches Are Warty...

Isn't she pretty? Fully articulated, she folds unto the standard size atc she's mounted on.
Just a little more inspiration for the upcoming Handmade Halloween swap in our flickr group. Only a few more days to join us, won't you?

Blissful Valentine ATC's
This was my first time participating in my dear friend Wendy's monthly swap at Blissful ATC Swap. The theme for February was, of course, Love.
I received this blingy beauty from my partner, Sonya. I love that the word cherish is the focal point of this wonderful collage.
I went vintage with my card for Sonya and trimmed it up with some very old, delicate lace and teeny tiny pink pearls. And that is a dimensional pretty pink paper rose he's giving to his lady love.
