Lensbaby Love Blog Circle: October

Autumn has been spectacular with warm temps and brilliant colors,
but it also means that flowers in my garden are winding to a halt.

So, I decided that today would be a good time to show you some of the Lensbaby images
that I've made this summer for my Rainbow Macro Floral Project.

In my blog post, Black River Pow Wow,
 I mentioned winning a web membership :)
I hope that you can visit my new website which is devoted exclusively to my photography -

Please check out my collection titled, Newton's Spectrum.
This is where I'm gathering the best of the Rainbow Macro Floral images,
many of which were taken with a Lensbaby.
It's an ongoing project that I'll be expanding upon over time.

Next, please follow the link in our Lensbaby Love Blog Circle
to the inspiring work of Ana Rosenberg.
Enjoy!

Bejeweled Morning

When we go camping, rain and drizzle are not high on my wish list.

But, I have to tell you I may have to change my perspective on this,
as my husband and I crawled out of our tent to a spectacular sight.

Every possible surface was covered with drops -
resting, hanging, sparkling drops.

It was a bejeweled sight,
quite fantastic in a glittery, wonderland-type of way!

Hope your world is looking just as amazing :)
Happy creating to you.

Autumn Plunder

We're in the depths of a north woods winter already...
but, please humor me today as I turn back the clock of time a few weeks
and picture flickering sunlight filtering down through treetop canopies
onto a patchwork bed of leaf litter.

It was among this leaf litter that I found these macro wonders.

My favorite is the first image.
This gem was painted with touches of slug slime, or some such,
which shimmered with silvery opalescence.

I hope you're enjoying the season,
whatever the weather!

Winter Rain

A few weeks ago, we had a winter rain.
This is not the norm for the frozen north,
but a welcome sight for someone who loves water drops,
reflections, and worlds within worlds.
Yes, that would be me :)

Happy hunting for fascinating views!

Weather Wisdom

Sometimes, I almost miss the day.

By this I mean, the day may seem too hot, too rainy, too icy - or this time of year -
too darn cold to want to venture outside with my camera.

On days like these, I like to hole up in my studio and work on bead or quilt projects.

These images are from just such a day.
Icy, snowy, drippy with a bone-chilling dampness...
the great outdoors didn't seem very appealing.

But, once outside I found beautiful soft light and
small wonders hanging from every surface -
reminding me to take advantage of the day,
whatever the weather!

I'm wondering do you go out with your camera in less than perfect weather,
or is it all good in your book?

Wishing you creative days filled with weather you love.

Ten Million Drops

Mother Nature has been dishing up a variety of weather lately.
We've had rain, fog, frost, and snow.

Today we're back to rain, so I thought I'd share with you ten million raindrops,
give or take a few thousand.

What does the weather look like in your part of the world?

Wishing you a week filled with variety ~ the good kind!

Captivating

A summer rain brings refreshing coolness and leaves sparkling drops on every surface.
These raindrops hold fascinating reflections -
an image within an image, a world within a world.
They captivate and lure me in.

~ Gilbert Keith Chesterton

Today, my choice for the Photo Heart Connection is the second image.

Hope your summer is filled with captivating images and experiences!

P.S. Since summer is so busy, I have comments turned off.
You can always reach me by email, if you like.

Rain Drops

While parts of the country are still experiencing drought,
we have had some stormy, cool weather.
This has been a welcome reprieve after the heat and humidity of the last month.
It's funny, I yearn for summer,
but when it gets too hot and sticky....well, I whine about it.
Yep, call me fickle ~ I'll own up to it!

Here's the start of one of our stormy days.

A dramatic morning sky, and then peaceful reflections.
Next, came the rain.

Rain drops were everywhere,
like jewels in the foliage!

Deadly Nightshade along the water's edge.

And finally.... a dragonfly impression.
