# Be your Selfie | Sheena Rowlands | Selfie

Hi there UK Scrap Addicts x Sheena here again.

Our challenge this month is to "Scrap a Selfie".

This challenge will be harder for some scrappers & easier for others. But I do think as scrapbookers and memory keepers we should all be in front of the camera sometimes to help document the full story.

I haven't always liked having my photo taken to be honest but over the past 10 years I've embraced the selfie so had a good few to choose from.

I finally chose a selfie with a snapchat filter as who doesn't love a snapchat filter!!

# Be your Selfie.

I used the photo as my starting point for my paper choices. I found and used the last of a range I really loved - My Minds Eye - My Story- plus lots of bits and pieces from my stash.

I started by adding ink oxides to my background in 2 shades of pink/red. When it was dry I started to gather together 6 clusters starting with either a Project Life 3x4 card or a frame as the base.

To finish I added a Perspective as my title to one of the clusters then added a few splatters of black paint to finish it off after machine sewing the cardstock on to a black background.

I hope you feel inspired to take on our challenge & we would love to see your Selfie layouts over on our Facebook group.

Till next time x

Great Memories | Terri Morris | Tic Tac Toe

Hey guys how are you all getting on with this summer heat? My craft room is on the top floor of our 3 storey house and is crazy hot during the day. I’ve managed to do a little scrapping in the evenings with a fan on. I love this month’s theme of using the Tic Tac Toe as inspiration for a layout.

I chose to use the middle horizontal line, so focused on using arrows, circles and washi tape. I have so much washi tape it was great to get some used!

I used gold texture paste through a Dylusions circle stencil to create the background on kraft cardstock. While also adding some circular embellishments such as stickers and a flair badge.

The three strips of pattern under and on top of the kraft cardstock are all washi tapes. Those 3 phrases under the title were also cut from a roll of travel themed washi tape.

I combined the arrow and washi tape by adding a washi with arrows on as a strip across the middle. I used a Bramble Fox arrow perspextive and some arrow stickers.

This layout came together really quickly and is one of my recent favourites. The photo is from our trip to Jordan and I love how they have road signs warning about camels!

We would love to see your Tic Tac Toe layouts so don't forget to share them in our Facebook group and also tag us on Instagram.

Happy Scrapping!

Fresh Start | Laura Jane Thomson | Journaling

Hello UK Scrap Addicts!  Hope you're all having a scrappy week and are enjoying the selection of journaling ideas for your memory keeping that our creative team have been sharing throughout the month of September.

This month I have decided to incorporate a cut file which was issued by UK Scrap Addicts for National Scrapbooking Day 2017 alongside a beautiful stencil from Pretty My Page, to show case a photograph taken on a day where my life took a turn for the better and we had a fresh start.

This is my completed layout and I will explain the stages throughout this post:

I started with using the Fleur De Lys cut file which was a UK Scrap Addicts exclusive for National Scrapbooking Day 2017 and is available to download HERE.

I had this cut file in the centre of a sheet of white 12x12 cardstock and in each of the four corners of the white cardstock I used Wilted Violet Distress Oxides using a sponge blending tool through this beautiful Fleur De Lys stencil from Pretty My Page.

Next I layered my photograph onto a couple of pieces of patterned paper, and matted onto a piece of patterned cardstock which I had cut into a banner shape, before adhering to the page.

Using embellishments from my stash I added floral pieces to two corners of my photograph and a flair badge to the top right cluster, to complete each of these clusters I added some gorgeous enamel dots which are also from Pretty My Page.

I decided to add hidden journaling to this layout by adding a folded piece of cardstock to the bottom left quarter of the page, the front of which is also decorated with the Fleur De Lys stencil, after stenciling the main page I flipped the stencil onto a second piece of cardstock and using a baby wipe to 'clean' the stencil achieved this faded effect.

Lastly, I added my title "Fresh Start" using yellow Thickers to co-ordinate with my background paper.

Using cut files in my scrapbook layouts is not something that I am overly familiar with, however I am quite happy with how his page has come together and I personally think that the colours work well together.

Pretty My Page have recently re-launched their website with more of a focus on Mixed Media products to compliment the beautiful products Lisa has spent so long working on, so to celebrate this launch Lisa is offering our wonderful UK Scrap Addicts readers a 10% discount on purchases made through her website by using the code: UKSA10

Let's Stay Home and Party | ScrappyNerdUK (Claire) | Large Photo

Hello my friends. Its been awhile. Hope you've been keeping well.

I'm here to share with you today my layout based on this months theme - large photos. What a challenge. I prefer more white space on my layouts for embellishments so this was something that put me outside my comfort zone but I really loved how this turned out. So here goes....

I used Paige Evans collection, Oh My Heart, for this layout. I had this photograph of myself and my husband with some of his family on New Years Eve and I would never have paired this photo with these papers and embellishments but I felt like doubly challenging myself with this one!

I set about thinking about the title first as I knew that my title would have to be fairly short and contained due to the amount of space I would need for my photo. I had this die cut piece from the ephemera pack and I decided to use this as part of my title which reads "Lets Stay Home and Party". I created an embellishment cluster to the left side of the photo and used a mixture of chipboard stickers, foil stickers, ephemera and cut parts, all from the same collection.

Next I created another cluster to the top right of the photo using the same items and layered a gold foil doilie underneath it all. You can see in these pictures the finishing touches I added with a few tiny wood veneer stars and some enamel accents liquid by Dovecraft (I love this stuff as it creates the same effect as enamel dots and costs a fraction of the price).

Here is the title in its entirety. I normally make my titles completely straight but for the word "party" I decided to try something difference and slanted each letter slightly to create this look.
For the background I liked this paper where it was a pink ombre one side and different coloured circles the other. So I decided to try and use both sides of the paper, without cutting into it. So I folded one side over and glued it down to create this look. I was a little bit chuffed with myself for thinking of this and can see many more layouts like this in the future. I finished it all off with a messy border and instead of using black ink, I decided to use a co-ordinating pink colour for a change.

Thanks for looking and i'll see you all next month...

Sweet Girl | Roxy C (scrapbunny94 | Moodboard

Hey all, Roxy here again! xo
I'm so excited to show you my layout!
I have never used a moodboard before and I got the chance to create the lovely pastel, sparkly one! It makes me so happy to see all the team's layouts!
I hope you'll take inspiration too!

Here is the process video for my layout  https://youtu.be/hWeiFmyHMRU

Don't forget to carry on reading to see the up close and personal pictures! Those sequins are so sparkly!

I decided that I wanted to use a photo from a childhood holiday, so the sequins could stand out and match the glistening water in the background of the photo. Also so I could use all those beautiful flowers!!

I decided to start of creating a pastel background to match the sequins and flowers. Derwent artbars came in handy for this. They are like watercolours, but so much easier to use. All you need is the artbars, water and your fingers! Just scribble on to your page, spray with water and blend, blend, blend!

I backed my photo with pastel papers from the Oh My Heart 6x6 paper pad. Then went crazy with the ephemra from the same collection. I'd be so happy if they just came out with a pack of flower die cuts! One can dream...

Lastly I went crazy adding dots of glossy accents and sticking a variety of sequins on. You can never add enough sparkle!!

Thanks for reading! I hope you'll give the moodboard a whirl!

Mid-Week Getaway | Polly's Papercrafts | Mood Boards

Morning lovelies!

This month on UKSA we are all about mood boards (which I'm sure you've gathered if you're a frequent visitor ✿) I've got to say I do love a good mood board - they're perfect for if you've got that 'staring-at-a-blank-page-not-knowing-where-to-start' feeling...don't tell the rest of the Creative Team, but I get that feeling rather often!

This is the mood board I'm working with this month:
Isn't it gorgeous?

Those beautiful pastels with the confetti and the sequins and...oh the typewriter! All the heart-eyes from me!

So I decided to take inspiration from the sequins. Now, if you've followed me before, you'll know I struggle with sequins. I can never seem to get the lovely random but perfectly placed look that I admire so much. Laura is brilliant with sequins, so if you struggle too I would recommend checking out her videos on YouTube.
I went the easy option and created a shaker!

I used a vellum envelope that I got in the sale from Paperchase and filled that with an assortment of sequins that I had. There are some blue sequins and gold stars from Cocoa Vanilla as well as some different sizes and colours from a Project Life pack too.

This month the Creative Team were sent some product from allthingssticky.com and included in my package were some coloured glue dots. At first, I was a tad confused on what the point of coloured glue dots were - BUT they came in incredibly helpful when adhering my vellum pocket.

I used some of the pink, blue and yellow dots randomly on the back which meant that the glue blended in with the sequins. As you know, glue and vellum is a hard balance as it shows through but the way the dots were camouflaged in with the sequins definitely seemed a good answer!

allthingssticky.com is actually sponsoring our Mood Board Challenges this month with a £50 prize, so if you would also like to draw inspiration from them (there are two to choose from!) you can find all the information and how to enter on our Facebook Page: UK Scrap Addicts

The embellishments I used on this page (the flamingo, the tag and the chipboard piece for the title) are all from Crate Paper's Oasis collection. I tried to go minimal on embellishment because the sequin shaker is such a feature!

If you fancy a gander at the process video too, then do pop over to the UKSA YouTube channel!

Until next time...
