New Hair| Zoe Hailey| Fussy Cutting

Last months theme of sparkle was certainly perfect for me..... this months theme of fussy cutting however, has to be one of my least go to techniques, so it certainly challenged me to do something different!

I found the most perfect paper; Wallflower in the Crate Paper, All Heart collection and actually it was quite enjoyable cutting out the flowers and having a sing-along to my favourite 80's hits (luckily this blog comes without a video or sound!)

Cutting into 'All Heart' and creating a layout about my hair cut

The fussy cutting bug must have struck me because on this layout I ended up fussy cutting stars and flowers from washi tape too (something I would have never expected myself to do!)

I have clustered the flowers (some with dimension), around my image and I like the shape it creates.

My journaling is tucked away in the tag at the top and I absolutely love the charm and tassel on the tag. I have to be honest and say, I was never really sure what to do with these other than to hang them like a bunting decoration, so I can see me repeating this on a few more layouts in the future!

I rarely scrapbook about me, so it was nice to do a page without the children in it for a change!

Take a Break | Kirei Baldwin | Tic Tac Toe

Hi Scrap Addicts!

Kirei here with my take on this month's theme which was to pick a line of 3 items from a Tic Tac Toe board to use on a layout...

I chose the middle line....arrows, circles and washi tape!

This was a great opportunity to use some washi tape as I am sure many of you have just as many rolls as I have waiting to be used up, they certainly last forever! My inspiration came from a recent layout I made for GoGo Getaway where I used up lots of manufacturing strips that I punched into shapes and a fab layout by the lovely Jo Boland where she used washi tape strips as a background.

Firstly I covered a piece of 12" x 12" white cardstock with different coloured strips of washi tape in a rainbow effect.

Then I punched out various sizes circles which I stuck down onto a white background. I added a 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square photo (printed one up with borders on a Canon Selphy) with foam dots to give dimension. I added a title using some chipboard Thickers..... can you tell I used a 'c' in place of each 'e' as I had run out of them! I just added in the white line using a Sharpie Poster Paint pen.

Then I went through my stash and added lots of little embellishments (including arrows) in the same rainbow colours as the washi tape.

I love the finished effect and as I had more of the washi tape background left I made a second layout....

For this layout I cut the remaining washi tape background into strips that I stuck down onto a 12" x 12" piece of white cardstock. I punched a few more circles and added them to the white space I had left, attached a 5" x 3 1/2" photo (printed one up with borders on a Canon Selphy) with foam pads.

And again I went through my stash and added lots of circular embellishments (enamel dots, flair badges, sequins, brads) and some white glittery arrows.

I finished off with a title and journaling.

So why don't you join in with the Tic Tac Toe and share your layouts over on the UK Scrap Addicts Facebook page and join in with the chat.... we love to see what you create!

Thanks for looking, happy scrapping!

Today | Elaine King | Tic Tac Toe

Good morning all

Today I am delighted to bring you a layout featuring our monthly Tic Tac Toe challenge card here

To start with I cut the black circle background paper that I first obtained as a free cut file from the UK Scrappers forum. They hold a wealth of free files for your own use so why not pop in for a look to see what's available?

I then chose my photo and selected a collection of papers that included black in. I came across this Simple Stories, Bliss collection,  that I bought from Craft4Eternity as a monthly page kit.

I cut a selection of three strips from the Enjoy the Ride sheet and Remember to Shine page too. I then punched several 1 & 1/4" circles and placed these in a circle around the edge of the placement of the photo. I then mounted this on co-ordinating card-stock and mounted this on foam pads on top of the circle of circles to give dimension. I have drew some 'stitches' on all the papers too.

To embellish I used several flowers from my stash and a journalling card along with some stickers from the Bliss sticker sheet and a chipboard butterfly and bird from the same collection.

The Today title was made using a sticker and then mounted on a piece of yellow paper scrap which I then fussy cut around.

The little flair badge was for a collection that I bought from Lottie Loves Paper. I added some strips of washing tape in co-ordinating colours and the pink arrows were cut using my Silhouette Cameo.

I hope you like what you see.. don't forget to pop over to the shops mentioned above. ..they hold such lovely pretty things to stroke!!! Lol

Great Memories | Terri Morris | Tic Tac Toe

Hey guys how are you all getting on with this summer heat? My craft room is on the top floor of our 3 storey house and is crazy hot during the day. I’ve managed to do a little scrapping in the evenings with a fan on. I love this month’s theme of using the Tic Tac Toe as inspiration for a layout.

I chose to use the middle horizontal line, so focused on using arrows, circles and washi tape. I have so much washi tape it was great to get some used!

I used gold texture paste through a Dylusions circle stencil to create the background on kraft cardstock. While also adding some circular embellishments such as stickers and a flair badge.

The three strips of pattern under and on top of the kraft cardstock are all washi tapes. Those 3 phrases under the title were also cut from a roll of travel themed washi tape.

I combined the arrow and washi tape by adding a washi with arrows on as a strip across the middle. I used a Bramble Fox arrow perspextive and some arrow stickers.

This layout came together really quickly and is one of my recent favourites. The photo is from our trip to Jordan and I love how they have road signs warning about camels!

We would love to see your Tic Tac Toe layouts so don't forget to share them in our Facebook group and also tag us on Instagram.

Happy Scrapping!

Beautiful | Elaine King | One 6 x 4 photo

Good morning all

Thanks for joining me again on my journey showcasing British suppliers in the UK Scrapbooking industry. It gives me so much pleasure to support these small businesses and share my experiences with you all.

For this month's prompt the Creative Team were tasked with creating a layout using just one 6 x 4 photo. As this is something I do regularly I wasn't fazed by this challenge but I wanted to share some techniques with you that may inspire you to get involved too.

To start with I took several pieces of scrap white card stock and cut them into rectangles and layered them on a white background. I adhered them with medium gel and spread texture paste using a pallet knife to create texture. I also used a stencil with the same texture paste to add further interest.

Next I took some Tim Holtz Distress Oxides, (bought from Crafts4Eternity in Weston Super Mare) and added some pink and grey and misted with water to give it a splattered look. Once dried I then took an inch off each edge and layered the white cardstock onto a pink sheet of card (having gutted it first to use later).

I then took some scrap of pink and grey patterned papers an arranged them over the top of the textured rectangles with some die cuts I'd had for a while in my stash that one of my dear friends had cut for me. We got to know each other through the UK Scrappers forum and I am still an active member there. It's a shame more people aren't so if you have a spare few minutes, why not pop over and say hello?

Anyway.. then I used some Prima washi tape, also sourced from Crafts4Eternity from one of their add ons from a monthly page kit, and layered this too.

Finally I added the photograph that I had matted on  the gutted pink card and decorated with flowers from my stash. The little word expressions to the left of the photo are from a sticker sheet from Kaisercraft called P.S. I Love You as is the little heart above the photo too.

I do hope you like the layout and it gives you some ideas how to use some of your scraps and add dimension.

Thanks for stopping by!
