I have a great group of stamping friends that form our Stamp Club, so each year I love to host a get-together and a little stamp project for us to make together, as my way of saying, "Thank You!" I like to send out personal invitations to everyone, so this is my invitation design this year.
I went digital because I love the digital stamp set "Fabulous Florets" and the fact that I can make the flowers different sizes and mirror-image them. For some things, digital is the best way to go, which in this case, a simple postcard invite is perfect for a digital layout.
I hope that you're having a wonderful Saturday!

Party Invitation with MDS
My son's 8th birthday is coming up soon. He made his own pinata with the help of some neighbor friends and his sister, so he wanted to have some kids from the neighborhood over for a party. It's kind of taken a little while to get him to decide finally what he wanted to do and I haven't been the most motivated person lately, so we're cutting it pretty close with the invitations. Instead of putting it off another day, I sat down at the computer yesterday afternoon and designed a quick invitation on My Digital Studio. I haven't played with this program very much, so I'm still learning how to use it. I thought this turned out pretty cute for the small amount of time I spent making it.
Anyway, I wanted to share it with you all. My Digital Studio is a great way to create without a mess and in a fraction of the time it takes to create with real supplies. No cutting, gluing, measuring, stamping... it's pretty cool. Of course, there's just something about doing it for real that I like and won't give up, but this program is another way to create that is lots of fun. I was really happy with my results and loved being able to print these up from my computer (I did a layout of 4 to a page), cut them quickly and give them to my kids to hand out.
Plus, it looks special and I think it made my son feel like his birthday was something special, which it is!! I felt like a good mom. =D

Newsy Tuesday
Here's what we've got that's new this week!
Adriel's card for the THS Color Challenge #2:
Remember those flowers I showed you that I made awhile back? I told you I was going to do something with them, remember? I decided to incorporate them into my card for this month's THS Color Challenge (which BTW, is open for more participation until midnight tomorrow!). I had a ton of fun with this card! More than that... TONS! =)
I mixed up some homemade shimmer mist using a small travel size hairspray container, some alcohol and white shimmer paint (shake, shake, shake and you've got your own shimmer mist). I masked the So Saffron CS background with 1/2" punched circles all over the CS in a polka dot pattern. I used a temporary adhesive to stick the circles on. Then I spritzed the CS with the shimmer mist, allowed it to dry, then removed the circles. I ended up with this fun shimmery, polka-dot background. It's a bit hard to see in the picture, but it's TONS of fun... you gotta try it! =) I also added even more texture by distressing the edges of the So Saffron CS with an edge distresser.Like I said, it was tons of fun and I love how it turned out! =)
Here's a bunch of invitations to the preparation party (for the new baby coming soon). We made pocket invitations with the color combo of Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Basic Black and Whisper White. The sheer flowers are 3 layers of 5-petal punched vellum. Makes it a bit more delicate looking. =) We'll be sending these out soon! Obviously, I'm having a girl! I'm sure with all the pink and flowers it's hard to guess. =P We have decided on a name, but I can't decide how to spell it. When I do, I'll let you know what it is!!
I'm almost done with the baby boy flip album I was just getting started on last week. This project has turned out to not be as simple as I had initially thought it would be, but that's how it goes sometimes. There were measurements missing from the directions and some other info, so it was almost like starting from scratch at some points. At least now, the information is all complete (I think) and making another one won't be such a big deal. =)
I'm sure we'll be working this week on some new projects. I'm not exactly sure what at the moment! I guess I'll just have to surprise you and myself and save all the rest of the news for next week!
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! =)

Happy Weekend!
It's the weekend! Yay!
On Monday it felt like the weekend should be here already. Ever have those days? Well, it's nice for me that this week went by rather quickly and the weekend ended up being here before I knew it! Love it when that happens! =)
Yesterday we worked on the invitations for the scrapbook party we plan on having in preparation for the new baby's arrival. My mom and I have been designing pages for the scrapbook and getting all the pieces cut out and ready for assembly. We'll have lots of helpers to assemble it and it will be a fun way to celebrate a new baby coming. =)
Here's Mary and my mom hard at working stamping sheets of Whisper White cardstock for the invitations.
We had quite an assembly line going. Kayla was punching flowers and folding cardstock... I didn't get a picture of her (or myself for that matter).
The invitation is a pocket card. The stamped Whisper White cardstock got trimmed down for the front of the pockets. The insert pulls out and that will have the information about the special event!
I used a fun color combination of Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Basic Black and Whisper White for these invitations. I haven't used Melon Mambo hardly at all this whole entire year, but it was a fun addition to this project. If you're one of our stamping gals, be looking for one of these in your mailbox soon! I plan on having these sent out by the first of April! =)

A Birthday Card
From Adriel:
I just listed this in our Etsy shop and thought, "Hey! I'll post this on our blog, too!" So, here's a cute birthday card I made a few days ago! Wouldn't it make a cute invitation to a little girl's party (with a different sentiment, of course!)?
The little girl is from the retired set, Lively Little Ones. I wish it wasn't retired... it's so cute!! Anyway, I used a blender pen and ink to "watercolor" her and I enjoyed myself. Watercoloring is relaxing, although it does take a little bit of time. It's worth it, IMHO! =) It's SO MUCH BETTER than a plain black & white image!
Yesterday I made an Easter card that I'll show you soon! I did some more watercoloring! LOL! Thanks for looking! Happy Friday! Enjoy your weekend!
