Butterfly Birthday Card for THS Color Challenge #5

From Adriel:

I thought before the month of June was over, I should share the card I made for our color challenge. Easier said than done! I'm typing with one hand while I nurse little Allison, typing much slower and backspacing more than normal. I'm sure with more practice, I'll get more proficient at one-handed typing.

So, I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. I simply don't have the patience right now to type a lengthy post one-handed. =D

Two Happy Stampers Color Challenge #5 for June
Butterfly Birthday Card

No supply list... sorry!

There's still a few days left in June if you'd like to join us for this month's color challenge. Click HERE for the details.

BTW, I've been enjoying looking through the new Stampin' Up! catalog! I'm really looking forward to playing around with the new colors! How about you? :)

Card for Raspberry Suite Challenge #21

From Adriel:

I haven't participated in a challenge recently and this color challenge on Dawn McVey's blog looked fun. It was a great excuse to get creative and do something different!
The colors were so refreshing to work with! Since I was using Stampin' Up! product, I had to improvise with the colors. I used some retired designer paper in So Saffron and last year's in color Baja Breeze. I had pleated (or ruffled) the designer paper strips. I had this awesome wide striped Chocolate Chip ribbon that we got recently, scrunched it, tied a beautiful light yellow button on and it looked just as awesome on the card as it did on the spool! (Yes, love it when that happens.) Clear embossed a couple of flower images from the Fifth Avenue Floral set on the Very Vanilla CS and added the great sentiment from the Priceless set. Added dimensional adhesive to the back of the Very Vanilla panel and attached it to my 3-1/2" x 5" Chocolate Chip card base.

My picture isn't the greatest, but then again, I didn't take it at the greatest time of day! It was evening... I did my best with my photo editing software to make it look decent. Hmmmm... my perfectionist part of me has to sleep right now while I post a not-perfect picture! Ack! ;-)

Anyway, had a great time with these colors and enjoyed the creative process! Enjoyed myself more than I should have, I'm sure! =D

Any Occasion Placecard

From Adriel:

Wow, another post from me! Hard to believe, huh? =)

Just wanted to share a couple more placecards with you that could be holiday-ish, but would also be great for a variety of occasions.

I used the fun image from Wow Flowers on this... I really like that set and don't use it nearly as much as I should! Taken w/ Teal and Ruby Red are the colors for this placecard.

Used the fun whimsy circle from the Priceless set on this and stamped it in VersaMark and then added silver embossing powder. Love the finish on the black! =)

Had one more, but the picture didn't come out that great. Oh well... =/

Have a great weekend!

Razzleberry Watercolor Wash

From Heidi...
We have a watercolor class coming up next month, so I thought I'd share a few of the cards I've been working on for it. This is the card we'll be making for the Watercolor Wash technique. I white embossed the retired "Happy Harmony" flower stamp before getting out my water spritzer, Aqua Painter. I used the new In-Colors, Rich Razzleberry and Dusty Durango, for the wash. I can't wait to share this card for our upcoming class. My inspiration for this card came from pouring through all the wonderful cards on SCS. The Dew Drops on the bottom of the card are the ones I made with my hot glue gun...they came out great!
Thanks for looking...have a great Monday!

Fun with Embossing

From Adriel:

I saw a card on SplitCoast a couple of weeks ago and loved it! Click HERE to see the card I CASEd.

As you can see, I pretty much copied it almost exactly!! I loved it, like I said! HA! =D
I'm still getting used to my Big Shot and when I did this, I didn't get a very good impression with the embossing plates. I have since learned that if you put a couple more layers in the sandwich, the impression is much better, and I have tried it and it does work! =)

After looking at my first card, I decided it would make more sense to have a butterfly on flowers, so I used my Birds & Blooms Sizzlet dies to make flowers and then embossed them.

I made the butterfly by folding card stock in half and cutting out the shape and unfolding it and then applying pastels onto it. I adhered it to the card with a glue dot. =)

Anway, enjoyed myself! =D
