From Heidi...Here's another one of our fun Make-n-Takes for our New Catalog Open House, Sunday, July 18. We're offering a choice of hearts or stars, depending on your own preference. These cards use Stampin' Ups new "In-Colors": Poppy Parade, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz. I've been enjoying playing around with all the new colors. With so many new color combination possibilities, it makes creating that much more fun!

Christmas and Lemonade
From Heidi...I know these don't seem to go together, but their commonality is that they're both card themes for a couple of our themed upcoming classes - Christmas in July (at Tumbleweed Rec. Ctr.) and Celebrate Summer (our August project class). While for most of you, summer is a time for gardening and being outdoors, summer for us in AZ is a time to escape the heat. We do a lot of indoor activities for a few months in the summer, unless we're swimming. This time of year is great for creativity, because the heat is not very luring...while the rest of year the outdoors cries for you to come out and play! With that said, here are a couple of cards that we'll be making in our upcoming classes. I wish I could take credit for their originality, but I was inspired by several other inspiring paper crafters. I've seen several of the lemonade cards posted on different blogs, so this is my take on both of the cards.
The Christmas in July Class will be held at the Tumbleweed Recreation Center, Tuesday, July 28, 9:30- Noon. You can find all the details and registration information at: www.chandleraz.gov/recreation
Have a great Tuesday!

Razzleberry Watercolor Wash
From Heidi...
We have a watercolor class coming up next month, so I thought I'd share a few of the cards I've been working on for it. This is the card we'll be making for the Watercolor Wash technique. I white embossed the retired "Happy Harmony" flower stamp before getting out my water spritzer, Aqua Painter. I used the new In-Colors, Rich Razzleberry and Dusty Durango, for the wash. I can't wait to share this card for our upcoming class. My inspiration for this card came from pouring through all the wonderful cards on SCS. The Dew Drops on the bottom of the card are the ones I made with my hot glue gun...they came out great!
Thanks for looking...have a great Monday!

Brayered In-Color Top-Note Card
From Heidi...
I've had a lot of ideas that I've been wanting to get to, but haven't had the time. This afternoon I was finally able to play around with some of the new In-Colors. I thought brayering would be a fun challenge to use to try out a few of the colors together and see how they looked. I also got to use Adriel's Big Shot, so that was fun, too. This is what I came up with.
I love SU's new Soft Suede CS. I lightly sponged the outside top-note frame with black which gave the brown an almost leathery look...kind of cool. I'd seen a tutorial on how to make your own Dew Drops, so I tried that out and ended up putting several on this card. I really like how all the colors look together, I'm looking forward to playing with the other colors. Fun, fun, fun!
Here's the supplies I used:
Ink:
Dusty Durango (Brayering)
Rich Razzleberry (Brayering)
Pretty in Pink (Brayering)
Old Olive (Brayering)
Basic Black (for stamping greeting and sponging leaves and frame)
Stamp Set:
Sincere Salutations
CS:
Soft Suede
Kraft for card base
Accessories:
Big Shot: Top Note; Birds and Blooms
Dew Drops
Brayer
Sponge
