just the other day (mostly because i was bored and wanted to try something different), i was considering getting a lomo. and then today......
who needs a lomo when you can fix a fisheye wide angle DX lens on a full frame camera? xD (i suspect i just spoke greek to some of you =P) i've known for ages that doing so would produce a "hole" in the middle of the photo, but i never knew it could be this cool.
so much for our sunrise though. the skies had to open on the one day we dragged ourselves out of bed at 5am in hopes of good photo opportunities >< couple that with the fella who insists his iphone takes better photos than his D300 o.O *shakes head*

over dessert today, we talked about love, marriage and divorce.
i mentioned how rare it would be for a guy living in our modern day society to think of returning home to his wife (and kids) as the highlight of his day. he'd probably be happier heading for a drink with his mates, watching a soccer game or chilling away from his family.
which led to a whole discussion on the highs and lows in our day, and how perhaps, instead of asking "how was your day?", we should ask "what was the highlight of today?". perhaps this will help us better appreciate our joys and victories, instead of just skimming over the surface of it all by saying "my day was okay".
adel: what was the highlight of your day?
me: meeting you. what was the lowest point of your day?
adel: getting out of bed.

i blame it on the green tea refills during dinner and the teh (milk tea) i had after. spent the entire night blinking at the ceiling and having random snippets of one-sided conversation with God.
since i'm on the topic of sleep (or the lack thereof)... i've been encountering what the chinese would say, "日有所思，夜有所梦" (ie. you dream of what you think about during the day). and it's kind of interesting how some dreams come about. like the one night i dreamt about plants of all sorts just because i helped a friend choose a flower vase. or the other night where i dreamt of the rodeo just because my 1y7m old niece was under the influence of wild wild west and decided she wants to be a cowboy when she grows up.
but the best dream had to be the one where i had kung fu skills (no, i haven't been re-watching kung fu panda or ip man =P). it made me almost want to take up kung fu in real life just because xD
