hui:

jus saw a video posted on facebook. towards e end of e video.. these were the words:
"when deep injury is done to us, we nv recover until we forgive. forgiveness does not change e past but it does enlarge the future" -- mary karen read. her final journal entry prior to being killed in the virginia tech shooting

totally makes sense.. but some things i jus can't and/or won't forgive. im not affected by it, really. but i dunno y i still feel this way...

ting:

this entry is to announce my disappearance from the blogging world for tentatively a month.

i'm going to do a 30 day fast for personal reasons(nothing to do with the 21 day fast my melbie beloveds just finished), starting tomorrow.

i will be fasting:
- blogging (which means i won't even be dropping by my blog anytime soon)
- blog surfing (unless they are blogs i read for spiritual food)
- facebook (not like i frequent facebook alot, but i do stalk a random few people who are awesome photographers)
- msn (since i can't not sign in to msn at work, msn will only be off limits when i'm off work. which means if you want to catch me, do so during office hours! =P)
- personal emails (it will be hard not checking emails for a month, so i will still check and read emails, but i won't be doing any replying)
- sweet stuff, ie. ice cream, chocolates, any sweet dessert. this will kill me, but at the very least, i had my fill of dessert tonight ;) (if you guys bring HEAPS of dessert to the cook-out this saturday, I WILL KILL YOU!!!)
- time. 1.5 hours with God each night.

please pray with me/for me during these 30 days, for wisdom, discretion, and a deeper and more intimate relationship with Him :)

20 more minutes to msn!!

ting:

the sucky thing about life is you can't flip to the back and see how it all ends. where your paths lead. how things eventually turn out. whether there is a happy ever after.

but maybe that's the beauty of it. the slow, sometimes torturous process of discovery.

how will our current circumstances look like on the other side of eternity? maybe when that time comes, we'll sit down with God over a cuppa and laugh about it.

but for now, whilst i'm still stuck on planet earth, i'll just have to pray for all the wisdom and discretion possible. because no spiritual gift is greater than these.

ting:

i brought a box of leaves, a bag of red balls, 2 rocks, a small pack of purple pebbles, a few slices of grey matter and a bottle of yellow liquid to work today.

after ten minutes of tossing everything in the pantry, they miraculously transformed into lunch - my favourite salad! :) (and contrary to what ber believes, i only poured in ONE tablespoon of salad dressing.)

and so starts my "live healthy" campaign :)

i'm a huge fan of raisins. i know heaps of people hate raisins, something i don't understand. but i love them in the weirdest of places - in my fried rice, in salads, even in my bread. it's the unexpected tinge of sweetness that makes it all the more sweeter :)

to my raisins in life, thank you for the sugar rush you bring me when i least expect it :)

ting:

1.5 hours ago when i left work, i was peed off and miserable and stressed out and had all intentions of remaining that way till the cause of all these negative feelings end next week.

some frustration alongside some emotional weakness = not a good feeling. whilst mulling over things and life in general and God, these thoughts hit me:

1. we tend to focus more on momentarily fleeting circumstances, instead of His eternal promises.

2. in relation to point 1, we spend more time grumbling about the hump on the road than giving thanks for what He has blessed us with (friends, family, health etc).

3. it doesn't matter which side we're on, the grass will ALWAYS be greener on the other. God's work begins right where we are (Neh 3:23). instead of waiting for the ideal situation/scenario, we should be making use of the opportunities we have right now.

4. so often, we put our hope in the things that aren't trustworthy - career, power, money, humans even, instead of the One who will never fail us.

5. the situation at hand is only as big as we'd let it get.

teach me God to praise You irregardless of what situation i find myself in (Gen 29:35).

ting:

a series of events led me into revisiting photos from the past (ie. 2005 - 2007). this is nostalgia at its best.

ting:

i watched "the time traveler's wife" today and gosh. i've never teared this much (in a movie) ever since "ps i love you". had to frantically rummage through my bag for tissues midway. i now remember why i absolutely refused to read the book when jeysern was attempting to shove it under my nose. because i knew i would cry and i didn't want that.

i have never been able to get my head around the whole time travel concept, but this story resonates in so many ways. i'm pretty sure i understand what clare went through better than anyone else.

go watch it! but you've been warned. do get the tissues ready.
