ting:
something's making me take some time off to write this.. possibly because there's someone out there who needs to read this as well ;)
i was in a big hurry today. i woke up late (AGAIN!), rushed to get ready for work, rushed to work. upon getting to work, i rushed to settle in, rushed through breakfast, rushed to get a couple of things out for the meeting later in the afternoon.
lunchtime. i rushed to meet mei, neatly sidestepping a fallen board which might have killed me (very final destination-ish) if i were at that very spot 2 seconds earlier. met mei, rushed through lunch, rushed to help her get something for her sister, then rushed back to work.
at work, i rushed to print the materials for the meeting, went for the first meeting, rushed them to get it over with so we could move on to the second meeting, and then rushed through the second meeting because my boss was in a hurry.
got back to my table with about half an hour left of the workday to spare. rushed my colleague to get out something, rushed to prioritise my tasks for tomorrow, then rushed to get off work.
off work, whilst fighting the after-hours-work-crowd so i could hurry and get dinner, God nudged me.
"why the hurry? is 24 hours a day not enough?"
and why the hurry? i'm only living in singapore, which, though fastpaced enough, isn't as fastpaced (according to some) as say, hong kong, japan or new york to name a few.
so often, we go hurtling through the motions of life with such intensity we forget to slow down and smell the roses. we forget our Creator, we forget to be still and listen. we ask Him to speak, we ask of His will to be made apparent to us, we submit prayer requests and after all that, wonder why there is no response from up above. on the contrary, it is often our own fault we don't sense His presence. we don't slow down enough to listen, we don't slow down enough to realise how abundantly blessed we already are, we don't slow down enough to realise our prayers have, in fact, been answered.
would you not slow down and be still in Him?
on a sidenote, an interesting tip for the single girls looking for a Godly guy :) ask him this question: how much do you tithe?
for where his treasure is, there his heart will be also.
now, if you'd excuse me. i have to go get ready for gym :) i told hui i'd be 15 minutes late so i'm in no hurry! =P

for the benefit of those who aren't in the same country as i am, this is how my curls and i hang out:
(so jo? wanna come to singapore and let me take you to my hairdresser to get your hair curled too? =P) pardon the dark eye rings... work has been taking its toll >< and i predict next week will be hectic crazy busy, because my team has two major client presentations coming up and i already have OT planned for two days so.... >< sigh. i have to invest in more eye masks :(
life is pretty fun otherwise :) i love the random spontaneous moments. lunch on thursday and then running back to the office in the rain. realising i am entitled to staying FREE at some newly opened 5 star resort in koi samui, but having no one to go with :( the whirlwind one hour shopping session after work yesterday which did not result in anything. walking down orchard road and exploring the new "orchard central". talking over dinner. failing to bribe shihan into taking me to the united states with him. more shopping. dinner with ber, kel, mei and tom, people i haven't really caught up with in a while. enjoying the wind at marina barrage. trying to remember the word "pangaea". laughing ourselves to tears when ber got so frustrated he blurted "can the roadhumps get off the road!?" whilst on the way back to my place (inside joke).
ok i should go to sleep. i'm not doing my dark eye rings any good, and i don't want to fall asleep in church tomorrow. :)

after church, during a very late dinner, this conversation ensued.
leslie: i've been a christian for 9 years now! (turns to me) when did you become a christian?
me: i was one since birth :)
leslie: ohh i see. so that is what? 29 years?
*very very very stunned expression on my face accompanied by roars of laughter from around the table*
meiling and hwee keong proceeded to assure me this was VERY NORMAL of leslie. apparently he has done the same (over estimate ages by leaps and bounds) to every single girl in the cell.
me: (still very stunned) why 29!!???
leslie: well, you hang out with hwee keong. i thought people of the same age hang out together.
i don't think it's something i'll ever recover from. ><

went Lunar with kelvin and fety yesterday.. and e lady at e entrance looked at kelvin, and she let him pass. but when it comes to fety and me, she went "err.. can i take a look at ur IC?" kelvin was laffing until peng lor. and i said to kelvin "oie, y u bring 2 xiao mei mei to this kind of place huh? see la, we tio check IC." :P anyway, we showed our IC la.. duh. and obviously we went in. e singers were kinda cmi. all look damn beng and lian. practically everyone working there are MICkey. i dun think i will ever go back again...
with regards to work.. kaoz. kanna one big shit task. really is SAI KANG man.. haiz.. but wad to do, no choice.
hmm.. something else exciting is going on. which i cant reveal :D
ahh crap. haven been spending too much on shopping. MUST cut down! :(

i am severely behind schedule ><
updates! i have done #35 (curl my hair), #82 (pass my advanced theory test), #90 (eat something i never thought of eating) and #95 (go for a facial targeted for the eye area).
#35 was today, and totally impromptu. apologies and thanks to the guys for waiting =P
#82 was ages ago, #90 was when my colleagues dragged me for frog leg porridge (yes jo, i finally tried it. and yes, i must also admit i never thought of trying it. did i like it? the first bite was ok.. subsequent bites not so ><) and #95 was also sometime back.
i actually also flown a kite, but it wasn't much of a success (kelen blamed the kite and not our skills haha!) so i shall discount that till we get our hands on a better one! :)
my d700, with hwee keong's very very very VERY heavy FX lens (also the one i am eyeing and also the one that will kill me financially) attached to it garners a whole lot of attention whilst walking along the crowded banks of clarke quay. two american guys told us they loved the sound of my shutter clicking (haha!) and also gave us tips on where the best photo spots in singapore were (LOL). an indian guy asked if he could see the quality of my images (he was carrying a canon semi-pro camera) in a bid to convince his wife a DSLR was worth upgrading to (hahaha!).
i heart weekends :) though there's a possibility we might spend one star-gazing on rubbish reclaimed land o.O

wtf man. my power cord (laptop charger) is missing. some fucker took it from my desk and nv return. WTF MAN. my desk powerpoint was down, so i switched and plugged in to my neighbour's. came in this morning and found out tt it's missing from my desk. told my boss abt it and he got more mad than me. he immediately sent an email to the whole project asking whoever took it to return me. but then no one returned la. stupid sia. i nv ever kept my charger b4.. cos i tot.. its something ppl wun steal. its like.. everyone has one right, take other ppl's one for wad. sian. dunno can buy and claim or not.. haiz..
