whoohoo! free internet!
in mount fuji now. should prove to be great... except perhaps the waking up at 5ish am to catch the sunrise tomorrow morning. dear God, please let it be good. i don't wanna drag myself out of a warm bed for nothing (though if i could be motivated to do so in newcastle, i don't know why i can't do the same here).
haven't taken all that many photos yet... 600ish photos in 5 days. that must be record breaking for my standards. jon imposed a quota on the number of teacup and chair shots i take, insisting i include nore of my fellow travellers in my photos. meanie. i now want to take solely weird shots of non-animate objects just to annoy him. =p but yeah, haven't really been able to connect on an emotional level here. guess the past few days in tokyo which consist of only buildings and people didn't help. maybe the scenery tomorrow would do the trick.
have also learnt a lot about myself this trip - how far from perfect i am and how, like everyone else, i am constantly in need of God's grace. but yes, He has revealed so much to me, especially when i'm just mulling over things in the dark and for this journey of learning, i'm grateful.
and some things i never thought i'd be able to do, with His grace, i've partially done so. i'm still a far way off, but by committing everyday to Him, i believe He'll bring me through. :)
thanks for prayers! will catch you guys either at the next stop, or when i next get free internet (whichever comes first).

hello all! checking in from tokyo, japan, where we arrived about an hour or so after getting lost (spent last night in nagoya). haven't done or seen much, slight cultural shock (i keep saying "sorry!" and "thank you!" in english only to be met with blank looks) and this keyboard sucks. it periodically switches to japanese which drives me insane and coz the symbols we're so used to using are all over the place, i have to spend hours hunting for the correct button. and i keep misspelling words. ><
anyhows, just in case you are wondering why i am uncontactable via the handphone, that's coz my stupid nokia isn't compatible with the japan network system. and the 3g phone shannon lent me doesnt't work either so yeah. sorry about that!
ok this keyboard is seriously driving me nuts. i should go. internet's paid for (300yen per hour!).

EXAMS ARE OVER!!! woohooo!!
well, tt's the good news. bad news is that i dun think i will do as well as last sem, and my last paper was crap la. kaoz..
my invigilator for my paper jus now was my lecturer for business strategy last sem. had a short conversation with him after the paper.. and im surprised he noes me though i maintained a low profile last sem. he commented that i wrote quite well for my paper last sem. wah so happy la. consolation for screwing up my cpm paper. =P had a chat with him.. tgt with a classmate from last sem.
haiz.. heck la. next month (4 weeks from now) then check results. i hope can pass man.. sianz.. going to spoil my xmas mood liao..
yeaaaa~~ pu tao li gathering tomolo! with my colleagues, ex-colleagues and ex-colleague to-be :P movie outing for bewoful. hope its gonna be nice.. though i have a feeling that i mat not be able to understand the story.. =X
ok. now i have craving for ktv! ktv session with my own gang! feel more comfortable singing infront and with them. and i miss thing!! cam-whoring partner. =D and i miss eny!! her niceeee voice!! and i miss seeing mei and ber dancing to the beat and dancing so crazily. and jol too! though she's always so shy and always singing so softly. hahaha.. I WANT KTV!!
ting's off to japan.. lucky gal.. i wanna go travel. but i have no $$$.. haiz.. going to slog my life away on monday liao. back to work on monday. sianzzz... i dun want monday to come! maybe i should go enjoy as much as i can before work starts. wah kaoz.. lots of problem la.. and more than 2 weeks nv check office mails already. sure flood like hell.

sent two people off in the short span of two days. sighhh all these lucky brats who are headed for home when i haven't even finished exams. though i'd say that sending meilin off tonight was far more calming than sending enoch off last night.. it was like the passing of a breeze versus a hurricane. maybe it's coz girls are more organised. =p
nick and selena will be off sometime this week too. boo. :( though i myself am heading off on the 23rd, just not in the direction of home. sighhhhhhh. but oh well, anything to escape this crazy summer heat and irritating flies (there was a spider running around my table last night and i was so traumatised i went to sleep instead of getting anything studies related done. stupid insects.).
why do exams this sem feel waaaaaay longer than eternity?
random thought: guys' fashion is starting to worry me. seriously. i stand in front of a rack of clothes and get confused, because i don't know which gender they belong to. scary.
random sidetrack: got an sms from wei kee and wow. i am amazed he even requested that! :) God sure works in miraculous ways. and can i say that was the happiest thing that happened to me today? :):):)
random barge-in: ira and suba made me carry my stuffed dog all the way from ira's place back home in my arms! grrrrr they refused to give me a bag, claiming instead i shouldn't be ashamed of it and that i don't love it enough. sheez man. i never felt so stupid my whole life... and my poor dog is probably dying of overly polluted lungs now (so ira, you CLAIM to love it more?).
just a random picture i'd like to put up. this was taken after enoch's hurricane departure last night, when we went to nick's place to split the "stash" of food we robbed enoch of, and when nick had a little bit too much of the red wine selena was offering around (don't worry, i didn't take any. i can't afford to lose any more brain cells).

just bidded my dai gor (aka jon king) farewell... it was funny because we both were just waiting for each other to hang up after saying goodbye, and after about 15 seconds, we realised the both of us were still on the line. heh.
i'll miss him. :( but i guess it's so much harder for him, so i shouldn't complain.
dinner was fun. toasts all around, a video recording specially for him (aimed to make him cry actually but pfft. the fella's tearducts weren't working) and camwhoring! photos aren't with me so those will have to wait.
oh well. hope he enjoys his flight in BUSINESS CLASS. *envious*
had a great birthday yesterday too (well, apart from my exam. i thought it was pretty alright at first, the questions seemed do-able. then, while doing it, i went from lalalala to uh-oh.). thanks for all the L-O-V-E you guys showered upon me, i am immensely blessed. :)
and haha i don't know how i always fall for it. after so many planning of surprises and being surprised myself, you'd have thought i'd be wiser to that fact. but noooo it still catches me off-guard.
dinner was at TGIF, probably a ploy by nick now i come to think of it so we can stall for time. and i was thinking it was mighty weird, selena couldn't seem to make up her mind - first she was so anxious about getting back early, then she said she had the sudden urge to camwhore by the river. o_O haha still not suspecting. when they said they wanted to come up to my place to ooh and ahh over the watch hui sent me, i still was oblivious.
and probably also because my housemates were behaving normally when we got back. was immensely entertained by the tim-and-jo bathroom drama, then overly preoccupied with my new stuffed dog (after much argument, ira and i came to a conclusion. the dog is now called grover max, or GM for short, which can also stand for general motors.), so much so i seriously didn't have the slightest inkling.
so when i heard noises coming from the balcony and half-turned only to see the door explode open and jovan's head appearing, i did the only rational thing a person would do - i scream and ran. hahaha whoops.
attempts to try hiding in tim's room failed when selena dragged me out. and i guess what was funnier was that my dai gor actually flew all the way back from sydney (his flight to hk tonight was supposed to be direct from sydney, so i totally didn't know he was gonna be coming back) and he was supposed to be my "biggest surprise". they left him standing out on my balcony but because everyone was milling around, i had no reason to go back to my room or my balcony for that matter. so i left the poor fella waiting and waiting and waiting yet somemore. sorry dai gor!!! :( in the end, he had to come out of his own accord and punch me to get me to realise his presence.
and then another surprise, this time from the front door from the people with the cake. awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. *double loves*
and then 2 hours or so of chilling in the park, yet more screaming (shannon very nearly succeeded in throwing me into the pond. i think i possibly screamed the entire melbourne city down) and yet more camwhoring.
post photos another time, because i barely have any on hand.
but to all who remembered and who made my day special, i LOVE LOVE LOVE you. thank you so much for your awesomeness! (and to those people who struggled to stay awake just so they could surprise me.. thank you!)

woohooo! ting received my gift liao! was so afraid that she'll not be able to receive it on time. hehehe.. glad that she like it! :D :D
yes!! my international business module presentation over liao!! lucky the lecturer only ask us one question. hmm.. not sure if that's a good thing, as the 2 teams that presented b4 me kanna shoot quite a lot of questions..
ahhh sian... still need to do my project mgmt assignment. i seriously dunno how to do! need augus help to teach me :P
ok, so yesterday was the "last day" of my contract. will be taking 2 weeks off b4 i continue the new one. reason? cos i have exams! and since jus nice my contract is ending, i might as well start the new one later. sian man.. supposed to have my completion bonus this month.. BUT since i am going on "no-pay leave" per se, my bonus = normal pay to me =(
haiz... so much to study.. sian. hope i can be really hardworking and disciplined this time!

my brain hasn't been working very well lately. i think i'm lacking braincells to contain anything other than study-related stuff.
take the past few days for instance. i keep asking the girls stuff (like say i'll ask suba/meilin/ira what time their papers are), then promptly forget i've asked the question. less than five minutes later, i ask them the exact same thing. goodness.
and what happened just now was a classic example of my brain not working.
i was expecting a parcel from my dad (he's sending me additional SD cards for my japan trip); he told me he posted it last monday, i got notification last tuesday (ie. the next day) that something was awaiting collection at the post office. thought, "phew that is very fast delivery on their part!" but knowing how i procrastinate, i put off collection till today.
so hopped along to the post office, got the parcel and while signing for it, i was wondering why my dad's handwriting on the front of the envelope evolved to something so neat. while walking out of the post office, i started wondering why he deemed it necessary to use such a huge envelope to contain something so small. flipped the parcel over and saw the declaration slip and under the category "cards", it said $3. and i was wondering since when SD cards were so cheap. also noted that the declaration slip mentioned the word "watch" and i was wondering why he sent me a watch battery (coz i asked him to redeem the spare battery from swatch last sem). it was only halfway home that i saw the sender's name and realised that it's not from my dad, but from my dearest best friend.
oh man.
thank you so much sweetie. :):):) for all the thought and effort put into getting this gift. you made my day. i am wearing this to japan!!! wheeeeee!!! i only wish you were standing right here in front of me now, so i can hug you to bits and pieces.
and yes. i won't forget our grand "conquer aussie" trip next year. so start saving up!

stupid mp3 player died on me two nights in a row. what happened to the claims that the battery life lasts for 40 hours? grrrr.
the word of the moment (and which ira will merrily agree to, seeing she claims she's never heard anyone use it before): bah (used widely to express my contempt at exams and the study material).
was studying services marketing the other night and was covering the bit on customer complaints and how it is necessarily a good thing. according to my lecturer, the number of complaints is also dependent on the country's culture and she stated that "asian customers are less likely to complain". she so obviously have not been to singapore (or met asian parents, like my dai gor happily pointed out).
