i'm on leave! woots. but then was being woke up by a call from the office. !@#$%^&* asking me abt sharepoint and accesses, and how to troubleshoot cos someone keeps having error while acessing our sharepoint. wah lao... called twice somemore!! maybe i should be like paul and off my phone. anyway it was jerry (nicknamed tom by me) who called. and b4 he hangs up, he said "hey, and i realise that augustine is on leave also hor??" and i said "yeah, tt's e main reason." hahaha
ass man.. i'm now online, but i have blocked ALL ppl from my company who have my msn.
sigh, paul has tendered his resignation letter yesterday. fuck man.. his tasks is going to be distributed among the 3 of us: tom, fengyi and me. fengyi is the person who replaced mandy. (but MY FOOT!! i'm still doing all the invoicing stuffs.) nvm, i'll endure!! till 7th november~~
haiz.. y do guys always not know what they want?? do love always have to take some "logical thinking" into consideration? or should i say.. does logical thinking have to play a part in building or making a rship last? i guess it does. ahh.. dunno wtf am i toking abt..
ting: dun be sad anymore.. ur deadline is tonight! i wan to be / will be one of the supportive cheerleaders behind u! however, do look me up if u need someone to talk to or to listen to u =) take care!

it's a very weird feeling when the person you termed as an idiot reads your blog entry in front of you.
i'm still wondering if i should have listened to the coin. maybe i should have, and then none of us would have to go through this.
seems like this is a season for the emotional... everyone i know has been relatively down and frustrated these days, for all the different reasons. and it's funny when we group together and become emotional together. ira's place has officially become our hangout for emotional talks. how many times have we laughed, screamed, cried and just become emotional in that 4 days ever since uni started? but in some sort of sadistic way, it helps to know you're not the only one going through crappish hell.
maybe what daniel said is true. the more we group together and become emotional together, the faster we'll get it over with.
and i'm starting to feel as though i have a bunch of extremely supportive cheerleaders behind me. to those who matter: ira, suba, jo ann and wei kee, thanks for everything. for listening. for being concerned. for comforting. for just being there. i love you all loads.
and it was funny how we analysed my love life using game strategy (think economics). i see i now have a dominant strategy. i have to get from point a to b, but i don't know how i'll get there. life is tiring. sometimes, i wish life was like a book we could flip to the back to check out the ending in advance. perhaps knowing how everything would eventually turn out would make living easier. then again, not knowing makes life more exciting doesn't it?
i have a dateline. friday night. after that, i'll forget, move on and be happy again.
something which traumatised me during my macroeconomics lecture today:
my macro professor trying to explain exogenous (outside the system) and endogenous (inside the system) terms: " john freebain (my micro professor from last sem) told me that everytime i encounter difficulties explaining something, i should just throw sex into the picture. imagine the hand which is stroking the skin to be exogenous."
[to those innocent ones out there who didn't get it (because some of my friends didn't).. think of the hand stroking the woman's privates and turning from exogenous to endogenous.]
imagine my expression after i heard that. how am i ever gonna look at macro in the same way???

life is funny. it makes you do things you never thought you'd do. thanks wei kee for all that moral support, as well as the lamest of lame reasons you're helping me come up with. and hey, i kept my promise. i really did think of you! see, i'm even mentioning you in my blog entry! ira, stop bugging me with the spoilt lightbulb idea! hahaha... but you guys are such entertainers. thanks for everything. :)
have been to the lectures of 3 subjects. think i'm really gonna enjoy my econs subjects this sem. the total irony is that unlike intermediate micro last sem, we now have lecture notes, but no textbook for macro. which suits me fine, especially seeing the professor looks like a real nice guy who is capable of teaching sense (unlike that lazy bum who taught us last sem). and competition and strategy is an awesome subject. i enjoyed myself so much i emerged from the class smiling.
i wonder what organisational behaviour will be like.
anyway, i gotta run. cooking chicken stew awaits. it wouldn't be so bad if tim didn't insist on tasting it as well. now, he's stressing me out. sigh... with luck, i won't end the poor guy up in hospital. wish me luck!

ok. what did i just do?
i wanted an answer, which is why i did what i did. i'm sick and tired of guessing. i'm reckless. whatever. i just wanted a freaking answer. but did i get one? no. we ended up going around in yet more circles.
how is it possible that, between this time and the last, it felt like nothing has changed? despite the fact that it's no longer the same person?
at least guo an agrees with me that most guys are idiots. sheez.

and so my holidays have officially ended. spent the whole day (whole week actually) whining with friends about how our misery starts as of tomorrow. back to uni, assignments, readings and finally, exams. this month went by way too fast. then again, it's good because it means i had tons of fun. to salvage what was left of our holidays today, we spent the entire day in each other's company after church, ending with house-hopping (from tim's place to enoch's place where we gorged ourselves crazy on the food enoch brought back from malaysia, and then to jo's place) and dinner.
i know i promised photos from great ocean road. but that'd have to wait, i still don't have half the photos.
saw this quote the other day when i was browsing through borders. can't remember who came up with that quote, but i think it's so true.
"true love is like ghosts, often talked about, but seldom seen."

haven been blogging lately.. so here's a post now!
paul will be tendering his resignation letter somewhere next week. he'll be taking leave on wed, and i'll be taking mine on friday. jac will be taking leave on e following monday. haha.. everyone is taking leave man. i'll be going to Rob Ctr on 31st and 1st aug.. to cover for jac. hopefully no one will ask me weird questions and expect me to know the ans. that happened when i was in Rob Ctr on friday.
the Rob Ctr gang is certainly more fun than e team in RCT. also, i have more stuffs to tok to them abt. the ppl in rct are so boring. and especially with jerry around, he likes to shoot useless arrows to me. he jus loves to ask me do bo liao stuffs. the thing is, those stuffs are those which my manager has asked him to do. no idea y he jus likes to spend his time typing me an email to ask me complete the tasks than do spend the time doing the task himself. it's actually the same amt of time taken to write me an email and to do the task himself. somemore it's more straightforward and there's no need for him to follow up with me if the thing has been completed wad. ass.. wasting my time != saving his time. he jus dun understand this. but whatever, i have been very defiant towards him. i nv do what he tells me. haha.. bo bian la, i dun fancy this type of pattern and working attitude. kinda gone case. have nv treated him as my supervisor/in-charge anyway. =P ahh.. counting down the days i have in this company. sometimes i really hope that my contract will end soon. i really hate invoicing. nearly got screwed for this month's invoices. zzz
whee~ going to discovery center with augus tml =D have not visited it since like... pri sch. heard it has been renovated. thus gave us e idea to go take a look.. after which we will be meeting his uni friends in chomp chomp for dinner. ting~~ do u miss the food there?? i do!! am craving for it. the hokkien mee.. carrot cake.. satay.. bbq chicken wings.. sugar cane juice.. woohoo~~ nice food. i dhl over for u ok? hehehe
getting late.. gonna sleep soon.. see ya!

i'm off for another 2-day trip tomorrow. so keep your eyes peeled for more photos.
special entry for jo ann:
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SWEET! i hope you enjoyed the treasure hunt we planned for you yesterday. running all around the city. hahaha... and your resistance and insistance of engaging in your egg tart hunt instead was funny. :) but i hope you had a good time (hey, 2 of the challenges were NICE challenges!) and enjoyed yourself immensely in the company of good friends (*ahem*).
and yesterday wasn't a result of giving you a sad birthday on your actual birthday!!! i already planned everything in advance (had the idea in sydney even!)!!
HAPPPPPPY BELATED BIRTHDAYYYYYYYY! at least you have slightly less than half a cake now, instead of just one slice. :D

ok, so here's an attempt to be a little more detailed with regards to my sydney trip. (this is gonna be long. so bear with me.)
sydney is awesome. and there is sun! gosh, we haven't seen the sun in about 2 months. melbourne is perpetually dark and gloomy, with constant showers.
food aside, sydney is definitely more vibrant (though there are certain things which reminds me of singapore, not that anyone else would agree with me. it's like singapore with a higher cost of living and better weather.). i can't even begin to sum 10 days worth of travel in a blog entry, but i'll do my best and let the photos speak for themselves (though some don't really do justice to the place itself).
we visited sydney's landmarks, including the sydney opera house (which looks amazing at night), the sydney harbour bridge and darling harbour (which looks like a more glorified version of the singapore river).
we made a memory at 7:28 PM

the opera house, at night. (isn't it absolutely beautiful?)

we went on two daytours - to the blue mountains and jenolan caves as well as to hunter valley, where all the wineries are located.

this doesn't do justice to the place at all but this is what my idea of paradise looks like. :)
we made a memory at 7:15 PM

very happy us.
we made a memory at 7:13 PM

they say there is a silver lining to every dark cloud. i see what they mean now.
we made a memory at 7:12 PM
most of the time, we walked around ourselves, mastering the art of looking so lost sydneysiders were forced to come up to us of their own accord and asking if they could help with giving directions.
we ate whenever we were bored (as can be seen by the vast amount of food pictures i posted up in the last entry).
we lived by sydney's most famous beach - bondi beach. nice suburb, though our accommodation was pretty crappy. then again, what more could we expect from a place which charges $15 a night?
we made a memory at 7:11 PM

bondi beach

our $15/night accommodation, which looks more like a kindergarden from the outside.
we made a memory at 7:09 PM
we (or at least i) tried watching soccer in the nights, only to fall fast asleep during half time and missing all the good (and i use this term loosely) goals in the process.
covered all modes of transport in sydney, including the magical 380 bus which takes us everywhere we want (or so the backpacker's manager claims), the trains, ferries, coaches and cabs (which wasn't as expensive as we expected them to be).
we visited the university of new south wales (nice campus, incredibly modern looking), tasted food from all the must-eat places and met up with friends of friends as well as our friends from melbourne who also happened to go to sydney while we were there.

then we left for canberra.
and met up with neela (whom i haven't seen in over a year)!!!
we made a memory at 7:03 PM

neela and me!!
we made a memory at 7:02 PM
she brought us around the australian national university campus, broke a couple of rules to let us put our luggages in the library (so we needn't climb 3 floors up to her room. you rock, neela!!), showed us around canberra's city (which looks like some distant suburb in melbourne. i wonder how she lives there.), then brought us to canberra's main (and only?) tourist attraction - the parliament house.
very nice architecture indeed. though it doesn't look all that appropriate for politics and national meetings.

we made a memory at 6:55 PM
got lost trying to find the busstop outside the parliament house (thanks to some guard who pointed us to a busstop which we realised was no longer in use since the year 2003 and only after 20 minutes of waiting), then got back to ANU.
then it was back to melbourne, where we felt the cold even before we got off the plane.
gosh, i miss sydney's sun. hell, even canberra has sun!
and that more or less sums up my 10 day stint in sydney and canberra. here are more random photos, things which caught our attention and held it long enough to warrant a photo moment.

it's been awhile since my last post.
world cup is over. :(:(:( on the other hand, at least i can sleep in peace, without worrying about who is playing and who is gonna win.
thank you portugal, for kicking england out. nevermind the fact you didn't make it to the finals or win the third placing match, but you played well and didn't give up. (but then again, i didn't mind germany winning. plus point of supporting both teams that meet in a match.)
this world cup is kind of disappointing. italy vs france in the finals. gah. like i care who wins. and what a way for zidane to end his career. *shakes head* besides, winning the world cup based on penalty shoot-outs isn't exactly the most glorifying way of winning surely?
or maybe it's only me.
what the hell was brazil doing??? they played most of their matches like they were taking a stroll in the park. imagine my shock when i woke up (fell asleep during the match) and realised brazil lost to france (again). sighhhhhhhhhh.
with luck, the next world cup (which is four years away) would be much more entertaining.
in other news.........
sydney is awesome. :):):)
