I am listing "More Than One Way to Fly," an original painting of a big eye fairy steampunk lass with her magical fox squirrel friend and a departing hot air balloon.  She's missed her flight, but she will catch the next one...

I also have additional giclee art and ACEO prints here this week from Tuesday to Tuesday with a theme of magical friends; in addition to this fairy's fox squirrel friend, there are unicorns, dragons, a fairy cat, a fairy dog, and even the Loch Ness monster...  

Most of my art is also available on my website at http://www.lisarusso.com; however, I like to offer some art on ebay at a lower promotional start rate for the duration of the auctions...  I have started at updating and adding payment buttons to my website.  It's a very slow project, but one I am working on.

LACMA Show Fashioning Fashion V & A Steampunk Fairy Website Update...

I was looking through my reference images files, and I came across two folders with images from the LACMA show Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700–1915.  I love fashion and find it very inspiring.  Here are some of the images to the show, I hope that you will enjoy them.  I will post more from this show on other Mondays, although probably not always consecutively.

They're all based on my original paintings and are starting today and ending next Tuesday.  This week I've selected angel fairies, flowers, and a lucky still life.

I am very excited about Halloween coming up!  I love costumes and sweets, so Halloween is one of my favorite holidays!  I didn't get a chance to do a painting specifically for Halloween this year, I had some other deadlines and I'm sometimes not fast enough to get everything done that I want to get done.  I am in the sketching stage for a fall painting though...

This painting was inspired by the Illustration Friday theme "balloon." I discovered that I paint too slowly to be able to finish it in the alloted time of one week, so I just posted the pencil sketch that I'd drawn on the canvas that week. It took me a while to complete the painting, but now here she is:
