I live in a land without snow, but when I think of winter, I think of snowflakes.  This angel's eyes are gently closed as she ushers in the new season.  I hope you have a wonderful first day of winter and that the season is a beautiful one for you.

I'm a little early in posting this as the first day of winter also falls on my birthday so I'll be away from the computer more than usual on the 21st, but I did want to wish you a joyeux day.

Most of my art is also available on my website at lisabellarusso.com; however, on the first Tuesday of the month, I like to put some art prints and LE ACEO prints on ebay at a lower promotional rate for the duration of the auctions... This month, my theme is wintry Christmas; you may see them here.

Year of the Rat Sketches

Rats!

Yes, really, rats...  I don't often sketch rats, in fact this is my first time doing so.  However every year I like to do a Chinese New Year piece inspired by the animal of the year.  Although I knew in advance which rat I wanted to focus on, I decided to sketch a number of them to get the feel for them.  These are rough sketches.  The one I will be developing further is the last one.  The paws and feet need a bit more work before I move forward.
