Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps January Scrappy Challenge

Hello and welcome to our January Scrappy challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

You have all month to play along, so grab some stamps, pictures and let's get KRAFTY!

Our January theme is: ANYTHING GOES

I have had most of this calendar together since October, getting myself ready to get organized for the new year. Since I am going to keep this calendar as part of my scrapbook for the year, after the month is over, I like to go back and add a few reminders of some of the things that happened over the past month.

On my January calendar I used:

The paper is from Echo Park's Hello Winter collection.

Before the start of the month, I like to you the Perfect Planner set and mark out those days where I have confirmation of reminders, plans or information to remember.

Later in the month, if other things come up, it's fun to use some of the other great stamps you have in your collection to add a few reminders of fun and important memories. Baking with my kids and of course shopping for books (again)!

I hope you play along with this month's SCRAPPY Challenge! You can head over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog to see more creations from the Krafty Girls as well as the full details about the challenge.

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps 12 Days of Handmade Giving (Gift Box)

Hello everyone! Today I am hosting over on the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps blog for day 3 of a new series we are calling the 12 Days of Handmade Gifts. For the next couple of weeks, some of the Krafty Girls will be featured on the blog, with fun holiday projects showcasing different Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Make sure you come back to check out the daily dose of handmade gift giving inspiration.

Today, I am excited to share with you, a gift box that I made for my daughter's teacher. I decorated the box with paper from Echo Park Hello Winter and it features the sweet Ice Ice Baby and delicious One Cup at a Time stamp set.

It's a perfect little box for gifting some tasty hot chocolate and maybe a few other yummy treats.

The box is double sided. One side can be created from an 8 x 10 sheet of cardstock and measures 4 (wide) x 5.5 (high) x 1.5 (deep) inches.

The template below shows my measurements for one side of the treat box. You will start with a 8 x 10 sheet of cardstock. Along the 8 inch side you will score at 0.5, 2, 6 and 7.5 inches. Then along the 10 inch side score at 3 and 4.5 inches (measured from the bottom of the box). The portions in grey are scrap. The red lines are where you will cut and the dashed lines are your score/fold lines. For the double sided box, you will cut and assemble two of these.

After you cut and score your box base, decorate before assembling. Keep a close watch when you are adhering your paper, to ensure you have it facing the right direction, once it's assembled (ask me how I know that one).

To create a handle on the box, you can either use a die or your paper cutter. With all the layers on my box, I knew the die wouldn't work as easily. Before attaching the boxes together, on the back of one box, I drew out the handle and cut it out with my paper cutter. I then matched the boxes back to back (they way they will be taped together) and used the cut out portion to mark where the hole would be on the other box. I traced this hole on the back with a pencil then cut this out. Once the handle is cut out, the back of boxes are taped together and the rest of the box assembled.

I hope I have inspired you, to create a fun holiday gift box for someone special this Christmas. Please come back tomorrow to see the next wonderful project from Marilyn.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and krafty day!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps November Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the KRAFTIN' KIMMIE STAMPS November release blog hop. Let's get comfy, grab your favourite drink and enjoy the hop.

This month has we've had a super sized hop that featured so many amazing stamps sets. We started off our release with the fun planner set called PERFECT PLANNER, followed by a second set by Becky Pearce for coffee lovers called ONE CUP AT A TIME. For those football fans you have in your life you will want to take a peek at the amazing #ALLSTAR set which features a football player and cheerleader. Any book lover out there? If so, you will love our next set called HAPPINESS IS READING. The next set was a cute set called OH CROP! which is great for cards, scrapbooking or to use in your planner. We wrapped up our preview week with a celebratory set perfect for a number of occasions called LET'S CELEBRATE!

I love coffee and coffee themed stamps, so of course I was eager to create another card using the ONE CUP AT A TIME set. To create this scene for my card I used masking paper. I started with my cup, stamping in on my colour paper and on the masking paper. Once masked, I repeated stamping the saucer in place on my colouring paper and then a second time on masking paper. Once my colouring image was masked for the cup and saucer, I then stamped the delicious macaroon.

Here is a look at the inside of the card. I love those coffee beans!

Supplies Used:
Stamp: One Cup at a Time (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps)
Die: Circle and Stitched Circle Dies Your Next Stamp
Paper: Simple Stories We Are Family
Other: Simple Stories Enamel Dots (Sweater Weather)

I hope you are enjoying all of the projects featured in our November Release blog hop. There is a lot of inspiration today and this hop features all of the images from this amazing release.

If you haven't already done so, head over to the Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps store. All of the new stamps are now available. If you just love it all (like me), check out the Gimmie Kimmie Kits which feature all of the images from the November release at a discount. These are for a limited time only. You will want to check out the store and see all of the other goodies (paper, mounting supplies, embellishments) you can get.

Thanks for stopping in and have a wonderful day!

Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps November Previews: Day Two - One Cup At A Time!

Hello Krafty friends! Welcome back the second day of the November release previews at at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

Today we are sharing a second set from artist Becky Pearce. This fun coffee theme set is called ONE CUP AT A TIME and it's a must have for your coffee lovin' stampers.

I am still holding on to the last bit of fall that I can. I used the fun take away cup, which I envision is filled with a pumpkin spiced latte and used that as inspiration for my card. I used the lovely papers from Echo Park called The Story of Fall.

There was no colouring required for this card at all. I stamped the take away cup three times on various colours of cardstock (white, dark orange and kraft) and fussy cut, then paper pieced the cup together.

On the inside of the card, I included another paper pieced cup. I don't usually leave the inside of my cards without a sentiment, however for this card I decided that it could be used for a number of occasions.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: One Cup at a Time (Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps)
Dies: Circle Die (Your Next Stamp), Scallop Circle (My Favorite Things)
Paper: Echo Park The Story of Fall
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Walnut Stain Distress Ink

Now it's time for your to hop along and check out all of the fabulous projects from the Krafty Girls. Leave a comment on each of the blogs as you hop along. There will be one lucky winner selected from all of the comments this week to WIN some Krafty $ to spend in the KKS store
