300 peeps giveaway -- closed

Pin It I've been working on cutting my bee fabric...

Bee fabrics for cartwheels

And since there are 300 of you, I decided to cut a little extra, and have a giveaway.

Here are 13 fat-eighths(ish).

a baker's dozen of fat-eighths to giveaway

Thirteen of them because it makes a baker's dozen, and my friend Erika likes Baker's dozens. :)

Oh, and I finally decided on my bee blocks.

Christmas bee "plan"

My fellow Christmas bee ladies will be making one cartwheel, and one tree (or ornament) block.

And I hope they still like me at the end of my turn, because I need the blocks to be 22 1/2" !!! (sorry ladies!)

I'm using Fun Christmasy prints, and some white Kona Crush for the cartwheels -- and random fun Christmasy prints for the tree blocks (sashed in white).

I think it's going to be fabulous.

To enter the giveaway:
- Be a follower and  leave a comment  (one entry/person please).
- I like fun comments... just saying...I haven't decided yet if I'm going to pick at random or not...maybe tell me about Christmas... or pointers for camping with a baby...or what you'd make with these...or what you're working on...or...

----------------------
I joined another group *gulp*
The Hoop Up swap.  For embroidery.

Here's my inspiration mosaic -- vintage ornaments.  It's also going to be fabulous.

stitching while we were gone

Pin It While we were gone...

...enjoying the lake

... and playing in the sand

... and laughing

... and being with Dad

...and celebrating

... and getting reacquainted

... and discovering Angry Birds

... and being with cousins

... and just being together...

... I did a little stitching.

First was the little bird inspired by Kerri.
(pattern here)

And some snowflakes.

Oh, while we were gone, the mailman also showed up...

Charmed, of course {a giveaway} -- closed

charming fandango

As of today, there are 216 of you officially following.
That's about 211 more than I expected.

And I love it here.
And I love getting to know you all.
And I love fabric.
And I love making things.

I went and visited a very dear friend who recently moved back to this side of the country (where she started) yesterday.  I'm making her a quilt (after I finish all 292 of these petals...I'm about 12 down...)

We talked a bit about quilting.

When I was talking with my friend about quilting, I talked about how I think it's a pretty healthy coping mechanism.

It's creative.
It's pretty.
It uses lots of math and problem solving.
It keeps me busy, in the non-drudgery kind of way.
I feel connected (thanks to you all).
It doesn't get UNDONE as soon as it is finished.

I live in the middle of nowhere.
My husband works Lots and lots of hours during the busy season.
Thank you for being my quilty friends.
There are so many of you I'd like to meet in real life.

So, in appreciation.

A little giveaway.
{a Fandango charm pack}

*The Guidelines for entering*

- Since this is an appreciation giveaway for my bloggy friends, you must be a follower.
- New followers are of course welcome, but please only follow if you like what you see (no one likes a lemming, right?) ;)
- Leave me a chatty/interactive type comment...I'll reply, even if it takes me a while...(well, that is, as long as you don't have your email blocked.)
- Make sure I can get a hold of you.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Spray season is winding down (can you hear the angels sing?)
And I'm taking a little break from sewing/blog land to be with the hubs, before the harvester prepping/crawdad fishing starts up.

I'll pick a winner in a week-ish.  So you've got some time to come up with a great little chatty type comment.

In the mean time...some of my thoughts.

I've decided to try some embroidery.

Kerri inspired me with this:

a little bird

All transferred and ready to go!  (though I might need to pick up some more floss)

My Christmas fabric inspired this:

some snowflakes

(I'm hoping it will help me make a decision on my Christmas Bee quilt)

Some summer reading -- thanks for the recommendation Katie!

Until I see you again (soon I hope) -- thank you for checking in, and good luck with the Fandango!

In the mean time, I'll be having fun with this big guy, and this little guy.

a P.S.

One of my bloggy friends, "Fuschia," just finished her first quilt after a long break of quilting.

The woman has five girls, spanning 12 years, that she home schools, and she has recently taken on some technical writing assignments (can we say busy?!?)

With a little encouragement (I could tell she was dying to get back in to sewing), she whipped this up in four days' time.

And she's giving it to a friend.

Isn't that the way it is with us?

How many of your projects have you actually kept?  I still don't have a real-size quilt for myself (though I am planning on remedying that...one of these days.)

Anyway -- go show her some love.  I want to keep her sucked in quilting.  ;)
